Update: By the way, this isn't really news - I posted on it in May and the New Party and ACORN were very closely linked.
If Obama gets the nod from the Dems, it looks like their candidate's color this time out is going to be Red ... not blue.
Frankly, the public education system in America has dumbed down voters so much and our capitalist economy has provided the ability for people to enjoy so many distractions from serious issues, I'm not even certain enough voters appreciate the significance of Obama's past - let alone seem upset that he lies about it so much.
Barack Obama has a long-term and sustained relationship with the Chicago DSA, an affiliate of the Democratic Socialists of America, and with the Chicago New Party. He participated in multiple membership meetings and in DSA-sponsored events, repeatedly sought their endorsement. This does not answer all questions about Barack Obama’s past relationships with multiple socialist groups. What the media need to find out is this: Has Barack Obama broken his ties with them> If so, when and why?
I guess we'll find out on November 4 if the fundamental principles that have made America great are still appreciated by enough of the electorate. Perhaps they aren't. What a joke it'll be watching these dummies whine when they experience the watered down standard of living and services a socialist tilt will bring.

Photos too shocking for the MSM. Boob this is for you.

Illinois: Three NP-members won Democratic primaries last Spring and face off against Republican opponents on election day: Danny Davis (U.S. House), Barack Obama (State Senate) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary)."
"New Party members and supported candidates won 16 of 23 races, including an at-large race for the Little Rock, Ark., City Council, a seat on the county board for Little Rock and the school board for Prince George's County, Md. Chicago is sending the first New Party member to Congress, as Danny Davis, who ran as a Democrat, won an overwhelming 85% victory. New Party member Barack Obama was uncontested for a State Senate seat from Chicago. "

It seems like Obama was involved with these organizations in the past. I see no reason why his affiliation shouldn't be brought up and questioned to determine if it is relevant. I think people should know as much as possible about each candidate.
However, to call someone a liar is a serious accusation. I see no where in the post or the links that shows Obama is denying his involvement with these groups. If there is an article with this, I would be interested in reading it.

moldy, you haven't been paying attention to Barack?

"..the public education system has dumbed down voters..."
You said a mouthful there, Dan. But not only voters, but young minds have been destroyed by what masquerades as public education. With few exceptions, the system doesn't teach what needs to be taught, doesn't provide good role models, doesn't stimulate learning, doesn't provide a disciplined environment condusive to learning, and has been taken over by Leftist trash, one of whose many interests is "community organizing". Hence, you end up with people who can't earn a living, but are parasites living off the productivity of others. In other words, typical Democraps.

I think most things that are wrong with the state of public discussion today can be traced back to a failing school system. Lack of knowledge of history, geography, civics, classic literature, etc. has left people unable to think, unable to maintain perspective, and unable to assign relative importance to facts.

Bingo, tim. But we sure have a large number of "community organizers" out there, don't we? It must be a trend.

And before any of the usual troll set shows up to whine, three words: Alaska Independence Party. If you can insinuate that Palin was a member when she wasn't and that she supported them when she clearly didn't, you can apply the same standards to the Obamamessiah -- except the "wasn't" and "didn't" become "was" and "did".

At some point in every losing Republican campaign, the loser's surrogates call the Democrat a communist. I think this phase is a necessary part of every Democratic victory. So, right wingers, many thanks. Now I know my side will win, because my candidate has been called a commie.

"Now I know my side will win, because my candidate has been called a commie."
You're a real thinker, aren't you, son?

"You're a real thinker, aren't you, son?"
Yes, actually. And you?

More than some, not as much as others. If you have some information, links, articles I am unaware of, please share.

Speaking of "socialism," how about the Treasury's announcement that it's going to take ownership positions in private banks and force them to make loans they don't otherwise want to make?
Ah, but this is a REPUBLICAN Treasury department, so "Riehl World" won't say a single thing.
Posted by: Magic Dog | Wednesday, October 08, 2008 at 10:19 PM
Magic Dog, could you please tell me where I might find the exact wording for your interpretation? TIA
Posted by: mary | Thursday, October 09, 2008 at 12:33 AM
Do your own research, you lazy wingnut.
Posted by: Magic Dog | Thursday, October 09, 2008 at 01:38 AM
Magic Dog. It is wholly impolite to post something without a link as the one must assume you are totally lying.
I will reiterate, please you and all of your little friends, refrain from referring to me as a wingnut. I have no idea what a wingnut is but, since you think it is a grave insult, do not use it in reference to me.
Posted by: mary | Thursday, October 09, 2008 at 03:05 AM
mary, you're funny. You don't object to being called lazy, even though it's an insult and its meaning is clear. Yet you object to being called a wingnut even thought you don't know what it means. Wingnut, you're not only lazy but you're stupid too.

"--- Ah, but this is a REPUBLICAN Treasury department ---"
HAW! HAW! HAW! HAW! HAW! HAW!
...gasps for breath...
HAW! HAW! HAW! HAW!
Ha! ha! ... ha-ha-ha... *chuckle*
OK... that was a real side-splitter, that one.
Republican Treasury... indeed.
Hank Paulson is at best the most nominal of Republicans. What you have going on there is socialism, alright... nearly as bad as what Obama's crop of Marxists are going to being us.
These folks are hardly "republican", nor do they care much for anything but their own immediate fortunes.
They are applying the ancient principle of raiding the treasury before the empire falls apart - caveat emptor in its applied sense - because they full and well know that eight years of sociaism under Obama will utterly wreck this nation - perhaps beyond any hope of repair.
They are leaving behind the biggest, messiest platter full of "crap sandwiches" for the Big Zero, and are loving EVERY SINGLE MOMENT of it.
The credit/liquidity crises will only continue and worsen, while "Hankenstein" and his cadre retire down in Belize with some of their wealthiest buddies.
The mode of the day for this lot is "get what you can, can what you can get, and poison the rest"... and partisan politics has little if anything to do with it.

Paulson is the Treasury Secretary in a Republican administration. Or are you now going to tell us that George W. Shithead isn't a Republican either?
Posted by: Magic Dog | Thursday, October 09, 2008 at 01:04 PM
GWB, Hank "Hankenstein" Paulson, Bernanke, et al. are RiNOs: "Republicans in Name Only".
You want to see a _true_ Republican, a small-government, fiscally responsible Republican, a Republican who believes in minding our own business, who believes in sound money, I point you to none other than Dr. Ron Paul, the distinguished gentleman from Texas.
We are still out there, and growing our numbers - and we aim to take back our government from the corrupt kleptocrats who have made such a mockery of our party's principles, and who together in Congress have made a ridiculous hash of our fine Republic's affairs.
