Well, this doesn't look like a very smart move. Here is Dante Atkins at barackobama dot com. It all sounds good, but ....
Location: Los Angeles, CA Why I support Barack Obama: Because I'm a hardcore Democratic activist who is tired of politicians on both sides of the aisle who promise the world to get elected and then don't deliver because they're too afraid of the conventional wisdom. As a Democrat, I want candidates who will tell me honestly what he's going to do, not what I want to hear. And more than that, I want a presidential candidate who can talk to all Americans, not just Democrats, because in the end, that is the only way to build the brand of the Democratic Party and create a long-lasting recipe for common-sense reform.
He's been campaigning in Nevada regularly for Obama. And here he is at DailyKos trying to launch an organized smear campaign targeted specifically at Mormons? Is that the right guy to be stumping for Obama in Nevada? Sort of reminds me of Obama going to San Fran to disparage the guns and religion crowd he's courting in Pennsylvania. Change ... on a dime.
But when the church and its members invest millions of dollars in an attempt to write discrimination into my state's constitution and divorce my friend Brian against his will, there will be hell to pay.
So what am I asking you to do?
Some distributed research.
There is a list of a bunch of Mormon donors to the Yes on Proposition 8 campaign (in case that one goes down, here's a mirror with slightly worse formatting.
Here's what I'm asking for:
This list contains information about those who are big donors to the Yes on 8 campaign--donors to the tune of at least $1,000 dollars. And, as you can see, there are a lot of them. It also indicates if they're Mormon or not.
If you're interested in defeating the religious right and preserving marriage equality, here's how you can help:
Find us some ammo.
Use any LEGAL tool at your disposal. Use OpenSecrets to see if these donors have contributed to...shall we say...less than honorable causes, or if any one of these big donors has done something otherwise egregious. If so, we have a legitimate case to make the Yes on 8 campaign return their contributions, or face a bunch of negative publicity.
There are a crapload of donors on this list--so please focus on the larger ones first. $5,000 or more is a good threshold to start with.
Feel free to use Lexis-Nexis searches as well for anything useful, especially given that these people are using "morality" as their primary motivation to support Prop 8...if you find anything that belies that in any way...well, you know what to do.
If you find anything good, please email it to:

Important Update:
Obama & DNC Admit All Allegations of Federal Court Lawsuit - Obama’s “Not” Qualified to be President
Obama Should Immediately Withdraw his Candidacy for President
For Immediate Release: - 10/21/08 - Complete contact details and a pdf are at the end of this article
(Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania: ”10/21/08) - Philip J. Berg, Esquire, the Attorney who filed suit against Barack H. Obama challenging Senator Obama’s lack of “qualifications” to serve as President of the United States, announced today that Obama and tbe DNC “ADMITTED”, by way of failure to timely respond to Requests for Admissions, all of the numerous specific requests in the Federal lawsuit. Obama is “NOT QUALIFIED” to be President and therefore Obama must immediately withdraw his candidacy for President and the DNC shall substitute a qualified candidate. The case is Berg v. Obama, No. 08-cv-04083.
Berg stated that he filed Requests for Admissions on September 15, 2008 with a response by way of answer or objection had to be served within thirty [30] days. No response to the Requests for Admissions was served by way of response or objection. Thus, all of the Admissions directed to Obama and the DNC are deemed “ADMITTED.” Therefore, Obama must immediately withdraw his candidacy for President.

OMG, what's funnier the Mormon-hating librul-type or that some crackpot has deemed BO 'NOT QUALIFIED' to be president. You guys are getting wacky!!
I think we can now assume that Utah is staying red.

Evidently chris isn't aware of the fact that Mormons make up significant voting blocs in Nevada, Colorado, and New Mexico -- all states which the Obamamessiah needs to win.
But go right ahead and demonstrate that Barack Obama and his Democrat Party support antireligious bigotry and smears on religious people.

Not a smart move. There are a lot of LDS in NV (third only behind UT and ID) and with an RCP average of only +4.2 for The One, this move could well galvanize the McCain turn out and give this state to McCain.

I'd bet you a golden plate that the mormons aren't voting for Obama regardless of where they live.

(10/14/08) Obama's internals in PA apparently leaked (Daily Kos)
I apologize if this was posted last week. It's the first I heard of it and it contains two important line: "We need to get on this story as soon as possible before it spreads any further. I don't want them to have any hope left, Let's crush their spirits!"
Rumor: Obama's internals in PA apparently leaked
by Oujdi
Tue Oct 14, 2008 at 09:50:41 PM PDT
Apparently, Obama's internals were leaked to a radio talk show host in Scranton. they show Obama up by only 2 in PA.
Oujdi's diary :: ::
Steve Corbett, a radio talk show host in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, accidentally received a copy of an internal email sent by Grant Olin who heads the Wilkes-Barre headquarters of the Obama campaign. The email went to 627 Obama campaign volunteers in the Wilkes-Barre Scranton region, saying that Obama Headquarters reported an internal poll which shows that Obama is only 2 points up in Pennsylvania.
Sean Smith, who is heading Obama’s Pennsylvania campaign, was interviewed by Steve Corbett via phone at 5:35 today to discuss this. He said that Grant "went rogue", and aknowledged that Grant was "reprimanded" for this.
This has caught on like wildfire in the right wing blogs and seems to have raised their spirits.
This is important because, if it is true, it undermines the argument that we have a substantial partyId advantage this year.
A partyId of at least +6 this year seems reasonable, as many pollsters are showing. Many rightwingers are arguing that the breakdown should be a push, like 2004, which is ridiculous. However the rumor of +2 in PA reinforces their argument. And that's the last hope they have left.
We need to get on this story as soon as possible before it spreads any further. I don't want them to have any hope left, Let's crush their spirits!

I'll see you a golden plate and raise you a pair of magic underwear.

Throw in a name tag and we've got a deal
Posted by: chris | Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 03:30 PM
chris, you and jaime get out from behind those rocks. Someone might think you two are trying to make use of the marriage equality act, especially given the fact that jaime has a funny name and magic underwear. Then again, you might be the same person. Who knows?
Back in the real world, it looks like the whiteys might turn out in record numbers. Could hurt Obama in Pennsylvania and Ohio!

As a life long member of the Mormon Church-please keep your comments respectful of my beliefs and the 12 million other Mormons out there. We're often the backbone of the Republican Party and are always in the fight on socially conservative issues (the Church NEVER takes a stand on political candidates) and I do not appreciate the mocking tone here. Leave that to those at the Daily Kos.

I saw this earlier at The Corner. As a Utah blogger who lives near the Nevada border, I immediately blogged about it on my site:
"Liberals, having no shame nor standards, do not fear scrutiny on moral issues. Those of us trying to live to higher standards and sometimes failing must ask ourselves if participating in the public discourse is worth it. The liberals will make the price high."
Unfortunately, bias against Mormons isn't limited to crazy Daily Kos fools. Huckabee rode anti-Mormon sentiment in the hardcore Christian right in knocking out Romney, a Mormon who would have no trouble painting Obama as dangerously dangerous.
I hope this bites Obama in Nevada. Mormons already turn out and support Republicans for the most part. So I'm not sure what practical affect this slight will have.

The same people who are vicious enough to hate the Mormons now, will turn on anybody else later. Especially if they are not in agreement with their, "New World Order" plans.
I would trust a Mormon any day over a hateful anti mormon.
