Since Obama and McCain people started getting security briefings from the White House, we've had two references to a potential crisis in recent days.
We've been so pre-occupied with the economy this has fallen off the charts. Bush will not allow Iran's nuclear ambitions to go unchecked. What's unknown is how much faith he and Israel have in Obama and the Democrats to stay strong, or green light an attack. As Obama has said he will meet with Ahminedejad without pre-conditions, I'd wager the chance of Israel taking out Iran's nukes before January 20th comes in at about 75%. Welcome to the White House Barack - sorry for the mess.
This morning on Fox News, former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton continued his drumbeat for war against Iran. Adopting Bill Kristol’s argument, Bolton suggested that an attack on Iran depends on who Americans elect as the next President: I think if they [Israel] are to do anything, the most likely period is after our elections and before the inauguration of the next President. I don’t think they will do anything before our election because they don’t want to affect it. And they’d have to make a judgment whether to go during the remainder of President Bush’s term in office or wait for his successor.
They say that the Iranian ship that the Somali pirates had contained a dirty bomb. It was supposed to be blown up in the Suez Canal on Yom Kippur.

If anyone thinks that Israel is going to sit on it's ass and allow Iran to build a bomb they are as clueless as Botox Biden on foriegn affairs.
They will "bomb, bomb, Iran" into the stone age and make Afganistan look like a modern utopia!
Why would they wait when they realize that Xerxes will just sit there and not respond to the Iranian counter-attack that would surely follow.

This is exactly what I think Biden was blathering about. Israel knows Obama will sell them out and intel says Iran may have nuke as early as February, 2009. Stands to reason this is their window of opportunity should the Socialist Wealth Spreader be elected. And then all hell breaks loose with him in the WH.
Yes, indeed, the American public would question a refusal to stand by our ally but I don't think they should count on the public standing by such a decision.
Also, doesn't it concern anybody that Biden is yakking about this in the first place? And Powell as well? Certainly Powell should know better but guess he is still pouting over Condi.

J brothers, you may want to crack open the constitution once in a while before commenting on it. The VP is the president of the Senate. A largely ceremonial role, but did you really want her to get to the nitty gritty with school children?
