Another Obama Crony Meets The FBI

Twas a bright and sunny day when, according to Obama's website, Barack Obama had a picnic with a "longtime friend and colleague":

The family who owns the barn will hold a picnic with longtime friend and colleague of Senator Obama’s, former chair of the Illinois Senate Agriculture Committee, Larry Walsh.

But it's just a bit more cloudy now that Walsh has been visited by the FBI - lobbyists, Federal Funds? Who could have known anything about that? Who did they lobby, I wonder? And it gets slightly better, see below.

JOLIET -- Two FBI agents spent more than an hour in the Will County Office Building on Wednesday morning as part of an investigation into an elected official.

That person seems to be Will County Executive Larry Walsh. Matt Ryan, his chief of staff, also is part of the probe, sources say.

The official apparently is Walsh. Ryan has -- or had -- some relationship with Smith Dawson and Andrews, the lobbying firm hired in 2006 at a rate of $10,000 a month to help Will County snare more federal grants and funding. The association is related to his work with the lobbying firm Performance Communication Group.

... The lobbying firm has secured quite a bit of federal funding for the county, including money to clean up and modernize the water and sewer system in Joliet Township's Ridgewood neighborhood; to do engineering work at 143rd Street and Interstate 355; and to add laptop computers to the squad cars driven by Will County police.

A DUI? Not Obama's poker buddy, say it isn't so? That last link is an interesting read via WaPo btw. Obama likes tough, no-gloves campaigns. I hope he gets to see one from McCain, soon.

One regular, former Democratic state senator Larry Walsh, said Obama was competitive yet careful -- and always hard to read.

"One night, we were playing and things weren't going very well for me," Walsh said. "I had a real good hand and Barack beat me out with another one. I slammed down my cards and said, 'Doggone it, Barack, if you were a little more liberal in your card playing and a little more conservative in your politics, you and I would get along a lot better.'

Thanks for the photo of the dans macabre above. At 2pm the SP 500 is down 3.76%. The MSM is trying to spin this as the result of unemployment and certain factory reports. I don't believe this. There is usually no evidence to explain why the market goes up or down . It is mostly supposition and spin. I believe the market is expressing its disapproval of the government's swing into socialism, a failed Dem policy. Hope I'm wrong because they won't be honest about what they have done, and they will not move quickly to undo it.

I don't think the unemployment numbers were anything but seasonal adjustments and the effects of the last two hurricanes. Of course, that's not being reported except on blogs. Better to look like the unemployment is causing the drop on the Dow rather than the "rescue" package.

This will not be reported anywhere like the rest of the Obama stuff. At the heart of it Obama is a crook, born and bread by crooks and bolstered by the corrupt Chicago machine. Just look at all his "small donors." If the press would stop kissing a** and start looking they would see this is a scam too. Because of the "small" donations he does not have to report anything. Let's just fantasize for a moment.

Let's pretend we're all US Attorneys.

Let's pretend we've been investigating a case that starts to give us this knot in our stomachs that the leading Presidential candidate is dirty. Maybe just a little grubby by Illinois standards, but certainly not what he claims to be.

What do you do?

You know that if the guy gets sworn in and the case isn't already on the front page it's going nowhere. Either you're out on your butt and the next guy's chosen for his Sergeant Schultz impression, or if you're bent you're already dropping hints with his handlers that you'll slow-walk it for considerations to be named in February.

You also know that if you go to the grand jury before Nov 5 with a case that isn't tightly screwed-down and it changes the election but doesn't at least get the guy looking dirty in a courtroom, the furor will make the 2000 election look like preschool circle-time.

So, what do you do, and on what timeline? Are you prepared to promise would-be witnesses not only freedom from prison but a nice retirement in the Caribbean if they spill the beans by November 1? If the guy gets elected on Nov 5, are you prepared to wander into the terra incognita of indicting a President-elect? Do you buy into all that 'healing' crap and bury the investigation if the guy wins the election?

Like I said, this is fantasy-time, but I'd love to know what US Attorney Fitzgerald's got rattling around in his mind right now.

Not that it adds much to the above fantasy speculation, but Obama has gone on the record as saying he will retain Fitz if he wins. People around Illinois have been paying close attention to this promise, so there will be hell to pay if he backs out.

Then again, Fitz has been at this job now for 8 years. He's probably about ready to move on or run for something. Actually he would be the strongest candidate in Illinois to run against whoever the Gov appoints to replace Obama... or against the Gov himself, but Fitz will have his second Gov behind bars by then so he would be running against someone else. He's burned a lot of bridges on both sides of the aisle. It would be interesting to see if Repubs fell in line behind him if he ran for something.

Hopefull as more of this stuff comes to light more people will start asking themselves the real Is America Ready? question and get the facts straight before they vote.
