$600 Mil plus and Now A Raffle?

Geez! How much money does one guy need to run for President? This is getting obscene. This man who broke his promise to accept public financing is now trying to destroy the public financing system itself. Ths is wayyyyyyy too much money to be in play during a campaign. Whether this latest breaks campaign finance law or not, I don't know.

A local campaign operative for Republican John McCain said there's something fishy going on.

 "Whenever you specifically ask for a certain amount of money and you're asked to be entered into any kind of contest, that becomes a lottery, a raffle, and that falls under gambling statutes," Kevin DuJan said.

Although Obama has already raised a record $640 million for his White House run, now he's trying to raise more by dangling a real prize in front of previous contributors.

 In an e-mail to supporters, Obama says his campaign is saving some of the best seats for select donors at his election night rally in Grant Park Tuesday.

"Show your support at this crucial time with a donation of $25 or more and you could join me on election night," the message says. "If you're selected, you can bring a guest and we'll fly you in and put you up in a hotel. You'll go backstage at the big event. You'll have a front row seat to history."

This might be an illegal lottery, and Obama's campaign had a run-in with Minnesota law enforcement over previous such solicitations in the past. The Obama campaign promised to modify them to allow entry without making a donation, but I saw no such offer in this latest E-mail or the linked Web page.

Furthermore, has anyone gotten one of these solicitations by U.S. Mail? It is illegal to mail lottery solicitations (possible exceptions include state lotteries and other legal lotteries).

this might work for social security-
for each additional dollar you put in, you get you get a 'ticket' which is based upon on your social security number. If you win, you divert moeny from others retirements to provide a million dollar payout.

No way Hussein O can ever be considered as winning, other than by thousands of criminal acts. Once the election is over, I believe that candidates -- even losing ones -- get to keep all the money they raised but didn't spend on the campaign. I don't recall what the rules are about how that leftover money can be used. Perhaps it's limited to future political events, perhaps they can raid it for their own personal spending. Either way, all of that leftover money will be under Obama's control. Nice little nest egg. Greedy SOB.

Obama made a lot of promises. Being a Chicago politician, he knows that he owes a lot of folks for all of the favors that he has recieved. He will pay them with OPM. Thats Other Peoples Money for those of you not familiar with that term. He did not have the airfare to attend the 2000 DNC Convention. Now after writing two fictional Autobiographies, taking money from Foreign contributors and cutting deals, he is a millionaire. But that is HIS MONEY. He will pay for his baggage with OPM.

I think this sounds totally selfish. Wait, that's what Obama is calling others who don't want to hand over our hard earned money to him to keep his illegal relatives in public housing, living off the dole.

This from a guy whose total, even combined with his wife, was less that one percent of his income given to charity. Biden isn't any better, either. Sure, they are compassionate and love the poor and want to help them. If you believe that, you will believe anything. This swindler and proven liar will say and do anything to get elected. I'd take Dick Cheney over him any day. At least Cheney has had a job that didn't consist of feeding at the public taxpayer funded trough. Obama has never done anything except live off the government. His own wife said he couldn't be running for president because he hadn't done anything yet. How right she was.
