This from Obama via EM - from which we can deduce two things. He's a hardcore American Idol fan and he doesn't have the slightest idea what leadership means. One should not confuse Sunlight with thinking every American wants to moonlight as a member of both the Legislative and Executive branch. Not that I believe for a minute he means this, of course.
“When there is a bill that ends up on my desk as president, you will have five days to look online and find out what’s in it before I sign it,” Obama said. ... And we will put every corporate tax break and every pork-barrel project online for every American to see. You will know who asked for them and you can cast your vote accordingly.”

Only five days, eh?
Considering that:
a) it takes seven days to read through all the pork
b) Congressionalrats would never hear of actual *reading* the entirety of the swill they pass
c) Most Americans would not be likely to take the time to find the bills (wherever they happened to be squirrelled away at) much less stay awak to read through all the pork...
... I mean, that is what the "public trust" is supposed to be about, right? We elect these bums to actually pass sensible, concise, and cogent legislation - and yet now Mr. Barack Fluffernutter Obama would only add chaos to confusion already.
Nation, I say unto you, vote these bums out, elect new blood - especially if they are incumbent Democrats.
Of course, I can hope for a moon made of cheese as well, but that is what this election is all about - hopey-changey-hope! Right...?

Wait, I've heard this before. Oh I know, Governor Palin said it. Hmm let me remember when she said it, maybe during one of her first campaign stops? Something about how she runs Alaska.
Now I have to find it.

Mary,
I believe Gov. Palin said that she put the state's checkbook online so everyone could see what money was being paid and to whom.

So Obama intends to have his every decision ruled by polls of people making largely snap decisions. Hey, he's going to out-do Clinton in having no genuine beliefs of his own beyond a belief he should be President. He won't have to be an executive so much as an emcee.

Wait, like his ethics legislation in Chicago, go see when it actually got passed... and why it didn't before he left. Now that you mention it, wasn't he the one who wanted the site up way back... what happened with that?
Will it have how he ended up second on the Fannie payout list when he didn't have time to chair his subcomm. on NATO and Afghanistan?
Oh:
You mentioned American Idol, so I had to do this:

How come he never did this when he was in the Senate? Oh, I know. Because then everyone would have seen just how much a pig at the trough he was.

Not an O-supporter. Not O-surd. A good idea. A very good idea. As a couple have pointed out I think it's not his idea alone. If a Pub had said it you'd think it was peachy. And if it is implemented, it is peachy, no matter who does the implementation.
