This here paleocon sees no need for paying for Wall Streeters and bad credit risk people alike to get a free ride.

THE RACISM RED HERRING ...
If Obama can get Americans to base the election on racism,
then it will take their attention off the fact that he has no experience,
no credentials, and no issues.

I concur with Rick. Whoever becomes president is inheriting a nightmare and will be a one-term president. I don't know why Obama wants the position, but since he does, I will vote for him because he's the only one that has the potential to help all americans. McCain's only claim to fame is being a POW. He's too much of a hot head. I'm afraid of him. He reminds me of the Gene Hackman character in Crimson Tide, arrogant, self-serving, etc. Obama is Denzel Washington. Cool, Calm collected, educated and evaluates all the options and possibilities.
The Republican women in Florida who are boycotting Oprah because of her refusal to interview Palin know darn well if Sarah Palin was a Black Republican or Democratic woman with the same background and baggage, they would not support her. Unfortunately, this campaign is all about gender and race. Women who vote for a candidate because of their gender are no better than a racist. Racism is alive and well and always will be. However, if we took all of the candiates perosnal info: education, experience, standing on the issues and were allowed to select a candidate without seeing thier face and name until after the election, in other words, no campaigning, do you think McCain would actually have a chance? Some Republicans say they would vote for Colin Powell. Most whites say that because he isn't running, and it's fashionable. If tested,, they would find another reason not to vote for him. Any white man who runs against a person of color, regardless of their credentials, reputation, beliefs or party affiliation, has a much greater chance of winning than if he ran against another white male.
