Update: Drew at Ace's has a post that claims Obama didn't cross any lines in the meeting based on other sources present.
As there has basically already been a confession by Obama that he interfered in International negotiations during a period in which America was at war, good to see we are finally getting around to issuing an indictment, such as it is.
Obama should not have discussed the government-to-government negotiations with the Iraqis. That he did, surprised the Iraqis no end. Raising the issue with them, especially the way he did, meant that he was telling them that he did not trust his own government. The Iraqis could not be blamed for wondering why they should trust a government that is not trusted by the leader of its own loyal opposition. (There was also no point in raising the matter, because Obama did not know the content of the negotiations.)
Obama might have attended a session of the new Iraqi parliament and congratulated the people of Iraq for defying death to go through one referendum and two general elections to build a new democracy.
He might have visited some of the good work done by over 1.2 million Americans, both military and civilian, who have heroically served in Iraq since its liberation.
He might have visited some of the wounded victims of terrorism, both U.S. troops and Iraqi civilians, to comfort them, and assure them of continued U.S. determination to fight the forces of evil.
He did none of those things during his eight-hour photo-op visit.
How's that saying go? Not God Bless America, No! Goddamn America ... and all known international rules of protocol ... just bless me, as I have an election to win.
Obama was irresponsible, repulsive and un-American in his behavior. Yet, a media cowed by race and political correctness likely won't utter a harsh word about Oba-neophyte's terrible and dangerous indiscretions in Iraq. He wanted as many of our troops at risk for as long as possible hoping to ride the headlines chronicling American dead and wounded to the White House.
Really, does it get any more repulsive than that, particularly for a man who professes to become Commander in Chief, even though he lacks the experience to run a Wal-Mart?
Shameful and disgusting, there simply are not enough pejoratives to describe this self-indulgent, ignorant little man.

"Of course, it's a fungible commodity and they don't flag, you know, the molecules, where it's going and where it's not. But in the sense of the Congress today, they know that there are very, very hungry domestic markets that need that oil first. So, I believe that what Congress is going to do, also, is not to allow the export bans to such a degree that it's Americans who get stuck holding the bag without the energy source that is produced here, pumped here. It's got to flow into our domestic markets first."
~ Sarah Palin, the nation's foremost expert on domestic energy production
You conservatives are so big and strong and smart. Can you translate, please?

At war? I thought that the SURGE WORKED it was Mission Accomplished and so forth years ago? It's so hard to keep up with you patriots!
Mrs Bob, the kids and I are off to the Caribbean tomorrow. I'll have to remind the Mrs. that our country is at WAR and we need to sacrifice whenever she wants to go shopping. She gets so darn un-American when it comes to shopping and all that duty-free crap that isn't any cheaper than it is at Nordstroms!
I'll miss you all. Good luck finding bin Laden while I'm gone. Lets hope he isn't targeting any high-value targets like Walmarts or Applebees. Remember that the terrur alert level is ELEVATED.

Ah the Sock Puppet our resident troll world traveler. Did your mom let you out of the basement this week Chris.
Hey Lame-O you disappear for a while and come back with your Palin talking point attacks that Uncle Georgie gave you, very impressive!
You trolls do realize that Dan's post was about Xerxes violation of the Logan Act right? I know you guys think that rational people actually buy into your bullshit!
Xerxes is above the Logan act. He is the god King and only answers to himself. All of those in his presence will submit to his will and anyone who questions his pumped-up experience are nothing more than racists.
You guys are peeing yourselves daily over the fact that Palin is above your petty attacks. Keep it up though it is absolutely hillarious watching your rants.
The great Xerxes could care less about the outcome of the Iraq war, the war on terror or anything important to everyday Americans. He and his wanna be Jackie wife want only one thing, to be the leaders of the world and to do the bidding of the great Uncle Georgie!
Bought and paid for by Soros your mixed breed manchurian candidate is as close to the real thing as Bidens hair plugs, and what's with that face lift he got? It looks like it will snap back anytime now! The great plaugerist who cheated at school and carried the tradition on throughout the rest of his political life. With Botox Nan they must be keeping those LA plastic surgeons happy!

Speaking of Soros, how did he make his fortune again? Sorry Dan that I went off topic.
The topic is so mind boggling its hard to wrap one's mind around the audacity.

Mary,
Speaking of the true leader of the Democratic party Uncle George, I ran across this little tidbit:
http://www.alternet.org/workplace/98644/george_soros:_a_danish_solution_to_america's_housing_mess/
How much do you want to bet that this becomes part of Xerxes great plan to fix the housing market any day now?
The puppet always follows the puppet master!!

SacTownMan;
Actually, it sound like a novel idea that might work...what's your take. Am I missing something? [Granted, Denmark is equivalent to a very small state -- say, Vermont, and thus what would work for them may not scale up properly, but other than that?]

Soros is a very, very, evil man.
Born Georg Schwartz, he changed his name to George Soros
During the Holocaust, he and his father, Tivadar (Teodoro) sold their fellow Jews into death camps so that they (pretending to be Nazis so as to save their own wicked hides), could expropriate for themselves some of the property confiscated from the soon-to-be-dead Jews.
Call it soulless pragmatism, or gutless cowardice... it was complicity to leverage the lives of his Jewish brethren save his own skin.

Later, he learned to trade upon the misery and misfortunes of others by plying his currency-exchange trade during the height of the Hungarian hyperinflation crisis. Again, one might forgive him for simply trying to make his nut at the expense of others, which is generally an effect of doing business at times: not all trades necessarily result in an equal and equivalent exchange in the value of money for value in time, goods, and services.
But to the to degree that he pursued his trade, it might be considered avaricious and even unconscionable in the untold suffering it causes/caused others: he became known as the man who "broke the Bank of England" with his currency speculation, as well as being a major contributor to the Asian currency crisis of 1997 (for which he is still wanted as a convicted-in-absentia felon in several nations).
And now with several billion dollars at his disposal, he can virtually buy any government he pleases: he wished to close the door to his success at invading the halls of the New World Order's power, and work toward a "socialism of the elites", where all the gains are privatised, and the losses socialized.
They - Soros and his ilk - have set themselves up as rulers, serving their "god" Lucifer, whilst the nations of the earth deemed unfit will be systematically brought into penury and ultimately, extermination through conjured wars, internal discord, and starvation.
