If Obama, or even his people set out to destroy a Mother of five, sitting Governor and VP nominee - he's toast. Did I mention she was the sweetheart of Florida today with 60,000 people? Yeah, they would absolutely love Obawon for this one, don't you think?
Speaking of Florida, it's back in play. It's now close enough to be considered a toss-up.
Oh and the Palin effect looks great too.

Just how the Florida polls even have this race close at all is a real stumper.
Obama only won 7 counties in the primary and all along the northern border of the state and Hillary ate him alive.
Look at the CNN map for back then.
He only got a small part of the primary vote and the CNN exit polls had many swearing they would sit it out or vote republican if Obama was the pick.
I simply am not trusting what the polls are trying to say on this.

The only urban county Obama won in the primary was Duval in the NE corner of the state.
Now that county is Bible Belt country, it is the home of Mayport Naval Station and NAS Jacksonville.
Until closed under BRAC it had Cecil Field the largest fighter squadron and was commanded by McCain after he got back from VietNam.

I don't know if you recall but Obama didn't campaign in Florida during the "primary" but the primary violated DNC rules and no one was supposed to campaign.

...there *was* a primary in Florida, and there were a lot of angry PUMAs amidst the NASCAR afficionados (who also happen to have what some folks might regard as a particularly aesthetically pleasing flush of red upon their neckular areas).

seek, McCain will easily win Florida, as the crowds attending the Palin event clearly demonstrates. I doubt whether a newspaper take on a very small sample of people picked by them is indicative of the state. And Obama is also likely to run pretty well in Tampa, anyway. It won't be enough for Obama to win the state. He will lose by 6-9 percentage points. Ohio, Colorado, perhaps Pennsylvania, Wisconsin or Minnesota might just decide the election.

If the FLorida GOP is able to hold "their" election than McCain will most certainly win the state. If not than it will be very close indeed especially considering the recent economic tide which can only help Obama and hurt McCain when seniors in Florida realize what condition they'd be in if McCain had succeeded in privatizing SS.

McCAIN COULD HAVE NOT CHOSEN A MORE 2008 CANDIDATE THAN SARAH PALIN. SHE IS TODAY. WE ARE ALL THERE. HILLARY ONLY HAD ONE CHILD, BUT, PALIN HAS FIVE AND IS EXPECTING A GRANDCHILD, SOON. IT IS SO TODAY. SO TRENDY. ANYWAY, MR. McCAIN RAN AGAINST MR. BUSH IN 2000 AND LOST. NOW, HE IS BACK IN THIS POSITION WITH THE ENDORSEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT. THIS IS GREATNESS. The problem in Florida is this: Liberals are concentrated in coastal cities like West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami -- in part, Naples, Fort Myers and Tampa/St. Pete. Conservatives are concentrated in smaller cities, agricultural communities and in the northern parts of the state -- say, north of a line drawn just above Orlando. Generally, the state votes Republican for governor and president...that is to say for administrative positions. For that I give McCain a slight edge. On the other hand there are some powerful interest groups that in the last two presidential elections have tried to skew the outcome in favor of the Democrats. This happened primarily in the Jacksonville area, where there was an attempt to block the counting of absentee ballots from our armed forces, and in the area from the Palm Beaches to Fort Lauderdale where there has always been a concerted effort by Democrats to cause problems. I won't get into just what kinds of problems but those who live here know precisely what I am referring to.

Anne Gartlan - is she the VO prospect? She does voiceovers for Today, and has done lots of political adverts for democrats. Plus, the voice is, to the extent my ear detects, a ringer.

I rather enjoyed Gov. Palin's speech last night. She is a lucid speaker, able to captivate an audience as well as relate to them. She talks *to* and *with* people, whereas Joe Biden and Obama talk *down* at you.
