The implications for this are significant, especially given an LA Times item out today. In NC, the local ABC station had Survey USA do the poll - an ongoing series of them, actually:
RALEIGH (WTVD) -- In an election for President of the United States in North Carolina Tuesday, September 09, Republican John McCain suddenly and breathtakingly surges to a 20-point win over Democrat Barack Obama, 58% to 38%, according to this latest exclusive SurveyUSA election poll conducted for ABC11-WTVD.
In a somewhat erroneously titled story - Obama Fans Out - the Times reported that Obama was already taking resources out of Georgia to assign to NC. Earlier in the piece you see McCain continues to lead Georgia without spending a dime.
Plouffe told reporters Monday that the campaign was moving some staff out of Georgia and into North Carolina -- a state that offers another illustration of Obama's expansive view of the map.
For now, at least - Obama is retreating and playing defense in the Battleground states - and in a big way.

Ah. Good news. The rout is on. I see Va. and Fla. going for McCain now also.

John McCain LIED to all us Vets, he represented to us that he was on our side!!
He only supported us 30% of the time!!
Now he won't even support the troops as they come home from Wars we never should have been involved in.
A vote for McCain is like another vote for the Cowered Draft Dogging george bush.
I served in Nam and in the Air Force for over 8 years
I did not have a rich father-in-law to buy me a congressional seat and then one in the senate.
Don't vote for a Liar!!

McCain is a Liar!, Palin is a Liar!
Lies, lies, everywhere lies, blocking up the scenery blah, blah ,blah!!
Only the great Xerxes can tell the truth, he is the "one", that will lead us all to the land of good blow and killer smoke!
The latest Moonbat Talking Point is slowly taking over for their favorite "McCain = Bush 3".
Look trolls we get it okay Soros told you to say Liar, Liar pants on fire!
Now lets talk about the guy who promised to use public campaign financing, now there is a "Liar" for you!

He's asking those of us in Illinois to volunteer in Michigan as well as in Indiana

joeb, I think Michigan has now come into play, with Obama losing his grip there as well. Colorado and New Mexico may be next to fall into the McCain fold. It's getting scary for the nutroots. All their evil plans might just be for naught. The only hope they have left is massive voter fraud.

North Carolina isn't much for dem presidents. Now if we could just get them to hold the same view when it comes to governors......This indy would be happy with Uncle Ho just to be rid of Mike Sleazy and his band.

What's up, Willie? Where have you been the past few weeks?
Posted by: templar knight | Tuesday, September 09, 2008 at 06:23 PM
I've been in and out TK......Summer is busy on the coast.

"A vote for McCain is like another vote for the Cowered Draft Dogging george bush."
Wow, where is the "cowerd" cowering and what have dogs to do with it? Now if draft DODGERS are COWARDS let us consider Mr Biden. Ole Joe had FIVE (5) deferrments before he finally got his induction physical where he was at last disqualified for asthma. Seems like asthma would have shown up long before draft age.

Well, this is good news. My daughter, who is a junior at UNC in Chapel Hill, has taken to meeting with her fellow Campus Republicans in secret locations. Their main task at hand...how to make it through a day without being harrassed by the Obamabots.
Posted by: galloway | Tuesday, September 09, 2008 at 07:47 PM
galloway your daughter has her hands full in TPRCH (The People's Republic of Chapel Hill). I can't imagine where they must hide to get away from commie spies. Tell your little Republican to vote McRory in Nov and maybe we can turn Sleazy's mess around.

Please check out North Carolina's data here.
http://www.app.sboe.state.nc.us/NCSBE/VR/VR%20S...
And then go check out SUSA's BS poll here
http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReport.aspx...
SUSA claim 41 percent Republican, 40 percent Democrat.
The state statistics show 45.3 percent Democrat, 32.7 Republican.
When you add 8.3 percent to the Republicans in the survey and subtract 5.3 percent from the Democrats, you tell me what's likely happen.

Harpie, I live in NC, have through several election cycles. Bring all the stats you want but the truth is that NC, though deluded enough to vote for dem governors, has not gone for a demonrat president since Kennedy......period. Now with all the yankees and hispanics adding to almost 1/3 black population things may, possibly swing a little more dem this time but I seriously doubt it.But on the bright side we are getting rid of that crook, mike sleazy one way or another so we're blessed. Personally I would take anyone over that idiot.

I'd do it wahoo, but she's a Texan/out of stater and voting in good old Harris County, Texas. Sorry she can't help you all out though! Sounds like NC is 'in transition' as is Texas.

Hey Willie... perchance do you live in the same district that BJ Lawson is runnning in (NC-4th)...?
He's the Ron Paul Republican candidate who I am hearing good things about (as in he stands a good chance of getting elected)
Posted by: seekeronos | Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 11:43 AM
Seek: Nope I'm down on the coast where only our lesbian is running for re-election. She had it in the bag again until the defying a court ordered visitation w/ her "son". And you know those silly demonrats, they think only the "rich" should pay taxes, so she lost her 5 million dollar home for back property taxes...... I suspect she'll be replaced.
