Personally, I can't believe this is getting the legs it is. But it is!
It was already on the car radio when I was out and I have readers and commenters who are ticked. So I decided to contact the McCain people myself for a response and he is said to have dismissed it.
"Look," he said, " it's simply a figure of speech. It's no different than if I had said you can put hair plugs on a bald guy, or you can hang a cross around the neck of a Muslim ... at the end of the day, I'm still running against an idiot with phony hair and a terrorist loving third world type America just can't trust. So, we need to put this behind us now and just move on."

The meltdown is starting and moving fast....in NY...Gov. David Paterson is claiming "community organizer" is a Republican code word for "black"...remember if you dont vote for the Community Organizer you are a racist!!

Drudge headlines it, so does the New York Post, it's in the papers in Australia

I know it's getting old by now but Barry's boy's are getting hoarse from having to say it:
"Nothing to see here folks, move along"
Just another nail in the coffin of the great Xerxes!!

Ooooh! No wonder they keep claiming Jesus was a community organizer!

What disturbs me is that just last week the Republican Governor of Alaska compared Mr McCain's VP choice to a Pit bull!
Can you imagine?
I was shocked.

God you Republicans are all about the big issues, aren't you? The saying is true, Republicans can't govern for $hit, but they can sure run a heck of a campaign! Just blow up the dumbest, most inconsequential bits of nothing into "issues," and 9 time out of 10, you'll win. You bank on the smallest common denominator, assume the worst about Americans, show no respect for the electoral process, and voila! President McCain. Congratulations.
Democrats lose because they are naive enough to assume the best of their countrymen. I don't know when we will ever learn. Not a word has been said about Keating 5, McCain's numerous infidelities, his being a "kept man" a la John Kerry, etc., etc. It's no wonder Obama's down in the latest polls. He refuses to take the lowest-hanging fruit and it's pissing me off. But whatever. I guess we get the government we deserve.

"Ah! My leg! He kicked me! Red Card! Red Card! Ow! Ow! Ow!"
~ Italian Soccer Player / John McCain
You'd think - being an American - McCain would learn to take his licks like a man. I particularly like Obama's response.
“That expression is older than my grandfather’s grandfather and it means that you can dress something up but it doesn’t change what it is. He was talking pretty clearly about the fact that you can’t just call yourself change when you’ve voted with George Bush 90% of time.”
To which McCain responded, "Squee! Squee!"

Yes, the government you get is what you deserve. In New York, for example, you get a bribe-taking, tax cheat for a Congressman.

Walking down the yellow brick road, we find the Cowardly Llama. Llama lacks courage. But Llama doesn't lack audacity. He learned audacity from his leader. Llama has the bold- faced nerve to actually write this churlish lie:
"You'd think - being an American - McCain would learn to take his licks like a man."
If there is anyone in America who has taken "his licks like a man", it is John McCain.

Words are important. Could Obama stand up to Putin(who is really still in charge)? Or would Barack put his foot in his mouth?
Heard last night on the news that Obama sounds listless and looks tired. Well he has a lot on his mind. Must not be getting much sleep these days.
"Lipstick on your collar told a tale on you".

"--- Gov. David Paterson is claiming "community organizer" is a Republican code word for "black"... ---"
Well, that would line up with Obama/Soros's desire to make an official Sturmabteilung/Brown Shirt organization full of young, angry "community organizers", freshly scrubbed faces straight from the membership hall of ACORN, the so-called "Public Allies" which would perhaps be elevated to a cabinet-level agency, the DEpartment of Universal Public Service?

Nothing to put a small fright into complacent people than paid rabble-rousers... I mean, "community organizers" coming down your cul-de-sac with bats, tire-irons, and sawed off shotguns. All perfectly legal, of course.

"-- If there is anyone in America who has taken "his licks like a man", it is John McCain. --"
ORLY? I have never seen anyone bitch and moan and sob over 40-year-old war wounds like John "POW!" McCain. He's turned his 5 years in a prison camp into a bumper sticker and his rather haphazard and incompetent service to his country into a fund raising gimmick. No one deserves the purple heart band-aid more than Plane Crash McCain.

Yes, first they'll organize clean highway initiatives, blood banks, and voter registration drives. Then they'll start rounding up the Communists and the Jews. Just like in the Holocaust.
There was a time, back in the 50s and 60s, when people talked about serving their country they treated it as an honor. Now, apparently, serving your country turns you into a young, angry, Brown Shirt. The times they are a-change'n.

If ONLY these young'uns were just picking up litter of the highways, or donating blood (and of course, the voter registration thing - could that be done without respect to party allegiance? I hardly think so!!)... but no.
These kids would be trained to be professional protesters at best, and to use thuggish intimidation at worst, ala Code PINK and that "Recreate '68" rally that went off in Denver so well...
What we REALLY need is to get these kids into Biblical sound, fundamentalist, Holy-Spirit lead, God fearing, Jesus-loving churches, get them converted to Christ, and THEN send them out on the Master's Great Commission to preach the Gospel, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, comfort the afflicted, and so on.
We don't need another lousy government agency laying its creepy tendrils even further into the minds of our youth.

Well, if you had the same experience that McCain had, being locked up in a Vietnamese prison for over 5 years, tortured, malnourished, psychologically abused... would you no less be a fool for not making frequent mention of it where it was politically expedient?
Because all other things being equal, that man's service (even if he wasn't the Ace of Aces or even a particularly good pilot) takes him a lot further in many people's books than a certain arugula-chomping, "community organizing", egghead law professor who'd likely not be ever caught anywhere near picking up a rifle or stepping foot near a naval vessel in defence of this Republic.

Lame-O,
I think what Seek was trying to tell you in a nice way was your boy Xerxes is a big pussy.
Are you and your fellow trolls so pathetic that you want to get into questioning McCain's sense of honor and duty to country. This man endured near 2000 days in hell of torture and sacrifice for this country that your god king Zerxes couldn't take for 5 minutes. How long would it have taken Barry to sell out his country and rat out on his fellow soldiers if he thought he could spare himself even one moment of pain.
Lame-O you really have outdone even your own worst moments here with your latest Lame-Ass talking point.
You really need to get a life!!

Oh. Well. If he's a big pussy, I guess that just changes everything. Is he a stupid-head too? Perhaps he's a meanie or a douchebag. :-p Such compelling arguments.

Wow. Good question, Sac. I'm sure you have nightly fantasies about going all Hostel on Barry. The truth is that McCain cracked just as fast as the rest of his fellow captive flyboys. Your hero-worship not-withstanding, McCain was just one of the 600 US captives in a country we shouldn't have invaded in the first place. He's living proof of the folly of foreign wars on multiple levels. He's living proof of the horror and purposelessness of torture - we pissed around in the jungle for 15 years, Jane Fonda and Hanoi Hilton propaganda be damned - and exited only after we'd worn our military down to the nub. We're doing the same in Iraq, only faster and with more money.
I've got no delusions about Barack Obama caving under repeated mutilations or years spent in isolated captivity. Neither does Barry. Strangely, the man who's never undergone a day of such horrific, humiliating treatment is the loudest voice in this Presidential Race in opposition to torturous practices. The man who spent 5 years in Hanoi is happy to extend 5 years to anyone else that might end up in Gitmo, because torturing people is politically expedient in the Grand Old Party. The man with the most combat "experience" is the one most willing to inflict that horror on the rest of the world. And that's the guy you're rallying behind for leader of the free world.
And it's "Xerxes", with a double X. The least you can do is taunt with proper spelling.

"We don't need another lousy government agency laying its creepy tendrils even further into the minds of our youth."
We don't need churches laying THEIR tendrils on the minds of our youth either, we might end up cranking out more Eric Rudolphs or Jerry Falwells.

Thanks for the spell check Lame-O. I've only spelled it correctly in dozens of other posts prior to this. I don't want to incur the wrath of your god king!
Loved the whole Vietnam lecture though, keep up the good work!
