Remember when Russia invaded Georgia and based only upon Obama's request Russia instituted a cease fire?
Well, Obama may have bested the Russians ... but apparently our media is just too powerful for him! Which leads to the obvious question: Who is the bigger threat to America - Russia, or the American press? ............. Not as easy a question to answer off the top of your head as one might hope, now is it?
"Let me be as clear as possible," Obama said. "I think people's families are off-limits, and people's children are especially off-limits. This shouldn't be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin's performance as governor or her potential performance as a vice president."
Obama said reporters should "back off these kinds of stories" and noted that he was born to an 18-year-old mother.

mark shields of pbs definitely did-not follow the directions of his idol, b. hussein obama last night. he spent several minutes castigating Sarah & Bristol Palin. I would suggest a boycott of pbs.

Maybe they took him to mean Joe Biden's children. What's up with his son and MBNA and the bankruptcy bill?

WAS JOE BIDEN VETTED? What does Biden’s daughter’s arrest say about Obama’s judgment?
Apparently, Joe Biden’s daughter was arrested six years ago in Chicago and charged with obstructing police after someone else threw a bottle at a police officer. She reportedly also said something to the effect of, “Do you know who I am?”

Hot off the TV - Sarah Palin a Nazi sympathizer because she wore a Pat Buchanan button once when he came to town.
Boy, you liberals are running scared.

Was Joe Biden vetted? I think not! Would anyome want to be seen in public, let alone in front of 80,000 screaming fans with a guy with bad hair plugs? Why isnt the media investigating this???

I can top that.
Reuters reported today that Sarah Palin, Governor of some hick backwater state that effete liberals would never visit, once forgot to flush the toilet in a public restroom.
The Obama campaign immediately issued a press release saying, "We are shocked and saddened that Palin would do such a terrible thing and request that she immediately remove herself from the GOP ticket, she is obviously unprepared to lead the nation. Oh yeah, her daughter is a dirty slut too".

US Magazine, quite a hit piece there too. Really gutter stuff going on here. Now in answer to who is the most dangerous, the American Media or the Russians? The American Media. They're working from the inside.

Just a slight deviation if you will allow it. From the WSJ:
"About 38% of U.S. households pay no income tax today. Under a President Obama (whose policies would shave 15.3 million households off the tax rolls) that share would grow to nearly half of all American households."
Once a comfortable majority of non-tax-payers is reached, a goal of the Dems, the country is doomed. This majority will always favor more government handouts fueled by more taxes on the minority. The Founders knew this. It is essential that every citizen pay some form of federal tax, even it it is only $50.
Reasonable people most vote no Obama.

I think it's reasonable to say that you are an incomprehensible idiot.

I like Chuck Schumer...No I don't. I despise him. One reason is the way he thinks. Party is more important than the security of the country, in his own words:
"'I like Joe Lieberman, but that's a big mistake for him," Schumer said. "To be pro-war and to have his views on the issues, everyone respects that. But you don't go over to the other side.'"
It is impossible today to be or to support a pro-war Dem candidate for President because the asylum inmates have taken over the Party.

More MSM stupidity from Paul Kane in the WAPO (via Memeorandum):
"Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican vice-presidential nominee who revealed Monday that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant, earlier this year used her line-item veto to slash funding for a state program benefiting teen mothers in need of a place to live."
What is it about becoming pregnant that causes one to be homeless? Just what is the physiological principle involved? Would any of you throw your preggers daughter out of the house because she became pregnant. Are there no decent people living in Alaska? And if one looks closely, one may find out that "slash" means didn't increase the budget by as much as the agency involved wanted.

Now chris, you comprehended me very well. That's why you are enraged.

Who is the bigger threat to America - Russia or Obama?
Posted by: Audacity of Hopeful Change | Wednesday, September 03, 2008 at 11:29 AM
Fred,
Could it be that a single teenage mother would like to have her own apartment courtesy of the taxpayers? That way her boyfriend could sleep over whenever he cared to and she wouldn't have to listen to her parents giving her advice. She would get a welfare check, furniture, a clothing allowance, Medicaid. She would be free to do as she pleases. No nagging parents telling her to go back to school or to get a job.
Posted by: Lala | Wednesday, September 03, 2008 at 11:51 AM
Exactly, Lala.

Oh, gooodness. Why is Ms. Palin now refusing to cooperate with the troopergate investigation?
http://www.adn.com/monegan/story/514163.html
How Mavericky of her!! This is nothing like the past 8 years. Another think I'm curious about is why W and Cheney aren't present to speak to their Party this week. That's very confusing.

Two commenters to the WAPO piece I mentioned above revealed what I suspected:
"
So, a department that was funded 1.2 million in 2006, got it's expansion funding SLASHED to 3.9 million for 2009?
OMG, how dare she. She slashed their increase from 400% to 300%... how can anyone possibly manage with a mere increase of THREE TIMES THEIR FUNDING?
But hey, maybe reporters would miss the word EXPANSION. I mean reading comprehension, research, editing, etc. aren't their strong points... not when there are lies that fit the story to be pushed.
Posted by: Gekkobear | September 3, 2008 12:08 PM
This story is completely misrepresented and inaccurate. The Washington Post should either correct it or remove it from their site.
How is it that a net gain in funding for an expansion could be considered a "slash?" That's right, this 501(c)(3) charity requested $5,000,000 from the state to help fund their expansion, but only received $3,900,000. Only deluded liberals would call going from $0 to $3,900,000 a "slash." Simply pathetic!

Deceitful reporters need to be castigated by good editors, and bad editors need to be chastised by good publishers. If this isn't happening, newspapers will begin to lose subscribers and then advertisers.
Oh, it isn't happening and newspapers are already losing readers and advertising? Never mind.
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Wednesday, September 03, 2008 at 12:36 PM
Hey Fred, I guess we're reading the same article -
I just noticed....in fact you don't even have to Google it!
All you have to do is get past the Lying Headline.
Look at the document with Palins initials....it clearly states what these funds were for......it states they were for "expansion"......
This is so typical of our media today, they simply can't be trusted.
Posted by: GARYT | September 3, 2008 9:16 AM
I am awaiting for Paul Kane to retract this garbage story. Prior to 2006, Covenant House received no money from the state government of Alaska. In 2006, the state appropriated $155,000 for an assessment of a grant request from Covenant House so that they could build a new facility. In 2007 and 2008, the state provided $3.9 million each year for this grant. That's the reality, not the smear that Kane wrote.
I love how these liberal "reporters" have criticized McCain's vetting process when their own vetting process is absolute horse manure.
Posted by: SteveIL | September 3, 2008 9:14 AM
As some have already stated...this story IS a complete LIE and I can prove it!
All you have to do is Google Covenant House Expansion.
If you are willing to do that you will find what this actually pertained to was a ONE TIME request for ADDITIONAL funding for an expansion project, total cost of $22 MILLION.
The FED had already given them $7mil, they wanted another $5mil from the State....Palin approved $3.9 MILLION in ADDITIONAL state funding for this project!
Again....the operative word is, ADDITIONAL

Palin files ethics complaint against self in 'troopergate'
More on this Story

By Lisa Demer | Anchorage Daily News
Gov. Sarah Palin wants a state board to review the circumstances surrounding the dismissal of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan -- taking the unusual step of making an ethics complaint against herself.
Her lawyer sent an "ethics disclosure" Monday night to Attorney General Talis Colberg. The governor asked that it go to the three-person Personnel Board as a complaint. While ethics complaints are usually confidential, Palin wants the matter open.

Joe Biden admitted today that when he had his hair transplants the doctors made a tragic mistake and castrated him as they were harvesting hair follicles from his pubic area...
At a press conference Obama stated, "Let me be as clear as possible, I think that talk of Bidens lack of testicles off-limits. This shouldn't be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Sen. Bidens cheating and plagerism or her I mean his potential performance as a vice president."
Obama said reporters should "back off these kinds of stories" and noted that when he married Michelle he was also castrated.
