In talking with non-political junkies who often make up their minds late and on "soft" issues as opposed to the political, ideological and policy minutiae that's the province of on line political nuts like me, I came away wondering if this entire election won't hinge on one straight-forward question having little to do with policy or one's politics at all.
Is America more prepared to accept its first female Vice President, or it's first black male President in 2008?
I realize the liberals who have been pressing identity politics for decades might rail at the question. But I'd argue it's their efforts in pushing identity politics so effectively for so long that has led to a significant number of Americans partly assessing every new face or candidate based upon what gender or race they happen to be.
I can't say as I know in what way many Americans would answer the above question should they ask it of themselves on November 4. But, live by the sword, die by the sword, they say. And the sword unsheathed in answer to the above liberal-driven question might just end liberal Democrat's chances of winning the White House in 2008.

So they arrived in their $150,000 limo's, paid $28,500 for a meal and a bottle of wine, sit around and bitch about hard times. Is there one sane person in the Hussein O blame the country gang?

I spent some time visiting my family in Michigan this year. Thinking about what I saw & heard there I've come to this conclusion: The election result is really quite simple -- Democrat result, Michigan economy. Republican result, Florida economy.

More like Democrat victory, New York economy (where you can barely get by as a small business owner, with the tax burden being what it is)

If this entire election hinges on one straight-forward question, it should be "Is America prepared to murder babies born alive after botched abortions?"
