Obama seems to be pulling resources from Virginia to go to Pennsylvania. While it's conventional wisdom that a Dem can't win the presidency without PA, a look below at the toss up states from RCP makes why pretty clear. Based on current numbers - with leaners, McCain needs 43 electoral votes from the 104 available below. Obama needs 63.
OH is trending McCain and PA (tied) is a stronger Democrat state anyway. For right now at least, we're talking firewall. I don't know as I can remember an election when that became necessary so early in a presidential race for someone said to have a good shot at winning.
If PA gets to a point where it's going for McCain, this one is over. But do keep in mind, there's still a long way to go, plus the debates still ahead. If the current economic news doesn't change the game for Obama, he'll have to pull it off going one on one with McCain on TV. Given his now using a teleprompter on the stump, he can't be feeling too good about that.

That kind of makes sense now as to why the Obama campaign has been working overtime to remove third parties from the Pennsylvania ballot, esp. Bob Barr and I think Ralph Nader also.

Funny...All the latest polls from Virginia have Obama ahead or tied. And last I look, the whole PA political machine is tilted in favor of democrats.
Of course the last person on the face of the earth who should be reading Virginia tea leaves is Dan "calling it for George Allen" Riehl.
