Environmentalists: Gang Of 20 Is Something For Nothing To Them

Yesterday at The Corner Steven Spruiell cautioned McCain about signing on to the Gang of 20 drilling deal.

If you want to know what the Environmental lobby thinks about the deal see here and here. They describe it as "something for nothing" for their cause and believe that it wll have no impact on gasoline prices at all. To them it's a win win with American taxpayers, drivers and conservatives losing in the end.

From my perspective, that ain't bad. Yes, I am aware this will never have any impact whatsoever on the prices Americans pay at the pump.

But as I said in "part 1," if the Dems don't give in to some coastal drilling at $4 a gallon gasoline, they will eventually at $6 or $8. Why keep taking any serious political pain if you can get some real clean energy gain -- especially if the drilling is far less than de minimis, as it is here?
