The Detroit Free Press invited a panel of Michigan voters to weigh in on Gov. Sarah Palin's speech last night. Their reactions run the gamut, but the independents didn't seem to care for her very much.

Ilene Beninson, 52, Berkley independent: "Her speech contained few statements about policy or the party platform. … I am not convinced that Palin's experience as a mayor or governor in Alaska meet the qualifications to be vice president much less one stroke or heart attack away from being commander in chief.”

Oh, you mean the Code Pink independent from Michigan doing a lame hunger strike for Cindy Sheehan. Yeah, how "indpendent" can you get??? ha ha ha

Indeed they do... and those welfare raises will come straight off the backs of the working classes and creative classes that they so misleadingly represent themselves as supporting.

I was clicking through the channels a few days ago and landed on CPSAN, which apparently was covering some protest against the GOP convention in Minnie-St.Paul where this disgusting fat cow was screeching - yes, at the top of her overfed lungs - screeching about how Bush and the GOP is starving the workers and the working poor.

If this obese, shrill propagandist were truly representative of the working poor, I suspect that starvation (or at least taking down her intake of twinkies by a few orders of magnitude) might just do her copious hide some good.

If indeed some large percentage of the nation is truly the "whinging class" such as this woman, we are desperately in trouble, and in need of steeling our resolve to stop such nonsense.

I hold out some hope that we aren't such a lacklustre nation of overfed whingers... we shall see how this plays out in a few short months.
