CNN offers up this attention grabbing headline today:
Poll of polls: Dead heat in Ohio battleground
(CNN) – It all came down to Ohio in the last presidential election. 2008 could be a sequel.
A new CNN poll of polls of the latest surveys in Ohio suggest the race for the state and its crucial 20 electoral votes is a dead heat.
Republican presidential nominee John McCain is the choice of 46 percent of Ohio likely voters, one point ahead of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, according to the poll compiled Monday morning. Nine percent of those questioned are undecided.
The CNN poll of polls is an average of the most recent surveys in Ohio, using a Suffolk University poll conducted Sept. 10-13, a University of Cincinnati survey taken Sept. 5-10, and a Quinnipiac University poll conducted Sept. 5-9. All three surveys were taken after the completion of both party's political conventions.
Nice move, CNN - cherry picking what increasingly looks like an outlier from Quinnipiac. Face it, RCP is better than you on any given day. The two most recent polls they cite actually have McCain up by 4 and it's only because the earlier Quinnipiac poll has a large sample size that it balances that out.
One might accept that, arguing the sample size actually makes it more accurate. Unfortunately, it's so inconsistent with a month long history of polling by various firms, it's impossible to trust. My guess is McCain by 3.5 and still trending up.
In our poll of Daily Koz regulars we find that "McCain = Bush 3" and Palin is a "liar".
And on a related story 9/11 was an inside job. Tower 7 could not have fallen by itself! Fire can't cause a building to just collapse.
It's scary that CNN is actually less screwed up than MSNBC!
The MSM is so far in the tank for Xerxes they need SCUBA gear!

Right. The man making the accusation is a convicted check forger with outstanding warrants against him. He failed a lie detector test regarding the incident. He held a press conference recently with his (disbarred) lawyer who showed up in a kilt because his testicles were too large for pants. He cut short the presser because police were there to arrest him for his warrants. If that is your vanguard of truth, you guys are in deep shit.
