Public speech by a public official is in the public domain -- not the property of any party or person. Either the staff member is in error, ignorant of the law or something else is in play here.

So the State Library of Kansas says the Obama campaign owns the words of the Governor of Kansas. Gee, they're good.

I'm sure there is something behind this. And somehow it foretells a 'chillwind' that will blow in an Obama presidency.

There is a library in Chicago that had a similar view of the world until recently. Ask Stanley Kurtz.
