Am I reading this correctly? A chronicle of flip-flops, back steps and ... well, basically spineless-ness on the part of prospective Democratic nominee Barack Obama - posted at the Washington Note by Steve Clemmons? Even if he does get around to blaming Michelle Malkin and the rest of the Right-wing haters: anti-Muslimists, he calls us this time out. You knew that was coming.
At the bottom you'll note Clemmons believes Obama is diluting himself purely due to pressure from the Right. I hope that doesn't cause a problem at communion time for the Left when the Obamessiah is finally crowned anointed elected.
What I don't understand is how, really, there seems no room here to demand real accountability from Obama, or simply flat-out admit that he's a typical politician, perhaps even worse, given the expedient manner in which he seems to cast off positions, friends and advisers at the first sign of real trouble.
If this is the fellow the Left really thinks is qualified and ready to lead them to some new imaginary day, what exactly is it they are basing that upon? His speeches? Because, frankly, from the time he put Hillary away, assuming he has, as she is back making noise - what behavior, what actions, what consistent attitude aside from Obama's lofty rhetoric can the Left point to in order to rationalize why he is that / their man?
I certainly haven't seen anything inspiring from Barack Obama at any point when he was not standing behind a podium delivering a canned speech. And if that's what the Left really believes leadership is all about, they don't deserve to get close to the levers of power in a two-bay service garage, let alone Washington, DC.
Barack Obama needs to make a statement loudly, clearly, and with passion that he embraces Muslims as much as any other Americans of Christian, Buddhist, Jewish or other religious persuasions. It wouldn't hurt for him to embrace devout secularists like me for that matter.
But I'm irritated and saddened by news that Barack Obama's Muslim-outreach coordinator, Mazen Asbahi, has resigned "amid questions about his 'involvement' in an Islamic investment fund and various Islamic groups."
What? Wait? Obama has had a many years long relationship with Jeremiah Wright -- and sat on a board with William Ayers -- NEITHER of which I think are disqualifiers for Obama's candidacy. . .and yet Obama's political team and Obama himself did not demand from Asbahi that he stay on the team, stand his ground, and fight back against the vile right-wing hit on him and his credibility?!
I think that this is outrageous -- and those on the left who appreciate Obama and what he may mean for this country must become as tenaciously committed to what is right and what is good -- and fighting for that -- because those on the other side of these debates are trying to compel Obama to dilute himself.

Vile right wing attacks?
“…I will stand with them (Muslims) should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” B Hussein Obama,
page 261 of his book, Audacity of Hope…
Has there in history been a statement that shows more clearly where one stands, and it's against what is supposed to be his country? What do Islamist do to athiest? Worse than the do to any religion in the world of the same? They hate everyone equally who won't bow to Islam and state they should be killed. Doesn't leave much room for doubt and puts Hussein O right in the middle of their quest to dominate the world using death and destruction. I look at Hussein O and see an inside man in their quest.

>>>>Hussein O
His middle name is Hussein. Do you think there is a person left in the United States that does not know this fact? Thank god McCain wasn't stupid enough to join the name taunting crowd.
If you were running against "Hussein O", he would have race-carded your ass straight to hell.

I am reminded of Rodney Dangerfield's line in Caddyshack "Now I know why tigers eat their young!"
It's great to watch the trolls feed off of each other!
What is that sound?? Beep!Beep!.. oh it's just the Barry Express coming round the corner again !
