Too many reports whirling around to know precisely what's what. Allegedly Romney was in CA yesterday meeting with donors. He is slated to be with McCain in Ohio while Pawlenty and Huckabee aren't ... according to Fox News. Hm. McCain stated Romney and Ridge would be with him on Saturday in PA. Could be just misdirection. Or could be McCain needs the money that probably only Mitt can bring in.
FOX News confirmed Thursday that McCain had made his selection. McCain was scheduled to appear with his choice at a noon rally in Dayton, Ohio on Friday.
McCain said in a Thursday morning radio interview with KDKA NewsRadio in Pittsburgh that he was bringing Romney and former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, another short-lister, to a rally on Saturday in Pennsylvania.
Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a short-lister on the vice presidential selection sweeps, is expected to be in Dayton on Friday. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who like Romney was a former primary season rival to McCain, sent an e-mail to supporters on Thursday evening saying he will not be at the rally.
On Thursday afternoon, Gov. Tim Pawlenty returned from Denver to his home state of Minnesota, where the Republican National Convention will be held next week, and attended his daughter’s volleyball game during the evening. He said he planned to deliver his usual radio address at the state fair on Friday morning.

It will be Carly Fiorina from Hewlett Packard. You heard it here first.

Ridge seems like a nice man, but he is not uninspiring. McCain need Romney to hammer the socialist minded know-nothing Democrat nominee on the economy.
Obama didn't pick the best person available. I will be surprised if McCain makes the same mistake.

Drat. Make that:
Ridge is uninspiring or, if you prefer, inspiring Not!

"It will be Carly Fiorina from Hewlett Packard. You heard it here first."
I certainly hope so. Although St. McCain has the opportunity to pick any number of hilarious VPs.

With that VP pick Obama made, McCain can't possibly do worst. But, then again, maybe that pretty white wife Obama's been kissing on had something to do with the decision to select Biden. LOL.

Real classy Temp. Do you post racist crap everywhere? Or just on this board?

The female Alaska governor is in the running according to Yahoo news. I hope he picks a woman it would drive the Democrats crazy.
Posted by: joeb | Friday, August 29, 2008 at 11:06 AM
Sarah Palin your gal: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080829/ap_on_el_pr/cvn_veepstakes.
Experience You Aren't Aware of! Feel the McMaverickiness!
A woman with about 2 years of experience in public life could be a heart beat away from the presidency. Good luck with the "experience" argument, sweethearts. Well at least Ms. Palin (who?) comes prepackaged with a tasty controversy: firing a state trooper because he is divorcing your sister! Awesome.
Posted by: Totally Heterosexual Conservative | Friday, August 29, 2008 at 11:07 AM
My mind is blissfully free of propaganda pollution. I did not watch one minute of the Democratic convention or any of the blabbermouths talking about it. Seriously.
Posted by: joeb | Friday, August 29, 2008 at 11:12 AM
OMG!!!! McCain is picking Palin from Alaska. Talk about disappointing. This woman is under investigation for an ethics violation concerning abuse of power! Are you kidding me. I hope it's a joke because she's the weakest choice he could make. I hope it's not true because the election will officially end today.
Posted by: michael | Friday, August 29, 2008 at 11:14 AM
Sarah Palin is the pick! I love it. I love it. I love it. The Democrats are doomed for sure now.
I am going to say this one last time. In the primaries independents like me and other Republican men voted for Obama to make sure he would defeat Hillary. With Hillary gone Obama will be easy to beat. Democrats read it and weep. We picked your candidate not you.
Democrats enjoy your euphoria from last night. That is all you will get. From now on it is another crushing defeat for the rabble.
Posted by: joeb | Friday, August 29, 2008 at 11:17 AM
Oh, wait, Ms. Palin has more experience than I thought. She was a beauty queen in Alaska too! I can see how. I'd tap it, but that doesn't mean I want her a heart-beat away from the button if a 73 year old with a family history of cancer somehow becomes incapacitated.
Experience You Aren't Aware of, but would Gladly Nail!

As an avid fisherman Palin is a great choice...oh by the way...did someone make a speech last night after the Bruce Springshit and Bon Jerkoff concert in Denver???

Sarah Palin. The female not Hillary. A great choice. McCain is truly a maverick!

great choice McCain! Couldn't be happier... can we be looking at a landslide victory! Everything about her is great, she is even beautiful!

72-year-old John McCain picks an inexperienced 44-year-old Sara Palin - who? - as his VP. He just gave up his best argument against Obama - experience. I guess he's desperate to carry the Alaska vote.
If this is a sample of his experience and political judgment, we are headed for a landslide - say hello to President Barack Obama!
Posted by: Worst President Ever | Friday, August 29, 2008 at 12:01 PM
Hey Democrats! We got two mavericks now. We got your change right here!
While I would have made a more conventional pick, Sara Palin is a smart choice. Very smart. The fact that she´s a woman isn´t even the main selling point (remember, we hate identity politics).
Inexperience? She has shown more spine in her two years as governor than Obama has in his six months before he started to run for president.
And McCain can afford to choose her because he´s not the one who needs to learn on the job. There´s no way Democrats can exploit that issue and come out looking good.
She fought corruption in her own party, unlike anyone who is anything in Chicago.
Pro-energy, pro-life, anti-corruption, has a child with downs syndrome, a son in the military - she is as much of a real American and a Washington outsider as you can wish for.
What´s not to like?

Sarah Palin is the pick! I love it. I love it. I love it. The Democrats are doomed for sure now.

El Gordo - What experience does she have to assume the role of commander in chief? What experience does she have with economic and foreign relation issues. McCain is at an age when physical and mental changes are a huge risk. I am an unaffiliated voter - but this is the closer - I am voting for the Obama team.

The agent of Change picks the old grumpy white guy and the maverick picks a woman.
I've said before that the most powerful undecided block would be older white women. When this mother of five goes out in the battleground states who will relate more, the old attack dog liberal or the cougar.
McCain is going to clean Barry's clock come November.
Barry was going ghetto last night and sticking out his chest like a friggen rooster. He used his line again last night saying he would debate McCain anywhere, anytime, what a tool. He's too big a pussy to do the townhall formats, not enough messiah worship there.
McCain should nail this troll king right now and hold him accountable. He should just schedule weekly townhall debates that Barry can attend or not.
What better way to negate the first black man for POTUS than with a woman. Barry had his chance, if he chose Hillary he would most likely be POTUS, instead Michelle's hatred of Hillary sunk his chance.
Time for the McCain = Bush 3, Middle class is 5 million a year, McCain is old, he doesn't know how many houses he has.. blah..blah talking points.
The democrats had better start getting ready for Hillary in 2012!

she has more experience than obama and she's a buck the system maverick -i love it. as a female athlete myself, i love that she plays hockey. game on.
Posted by: tally | Friday, August 29, 2008 at 01:59 PM
befair - Like Obama she has obviously very little foreign policy experience, but she is not on top of the ticket. He is. I´m not counting on McCain dropping dead next year but even if that happens...she can appoint a vice president with experience which is what Obama has done. You are obviously ok with that. Or she can get 300 advisors (although admittedly they are not doing much for Obama now).
As for economics, at least she has actually run something. Some executive experience beats none. She hasn´t been governor for that long but she has used her time to do hard things, in which she is the exact opposite of Obama.
Posted by: el gordo | Friday, August 29, 2008 at 02:57 PM
befair was an Obama butt-kisser from the first time she posted on this blog. Don't let her fool you, she is just another one of the liberal trolls who post here regularly. All these trolls must have a script from the DNC with a do this if, or do this when, guide for their shilling. Probably on the ACORN payroll. Disgusting.

The truth hurts, eh, Worst? Yep, if all else fails for a liberal, you can always count on them to ignore the racism of their fellow liberals, and accuse someone else of being a racist. Cognitive dissonance is THE liberal disease. They all have it.

You have no idea whom I support or if I am liberal or middle of the road. I can assure you I am not a troll. Why is it that people need to call others names like butt-kisser and troll when they run out of intelligent, cogent remarks. You need to improve your vocabulary and be able to discuss matters rather than go on the attack. Or do you post on this board only to people you think will agree with you. BTW what is ACORN.
Posted by: befair | Friday, August 29, 2008 at 05:00 PM
That's your opinion. I think it riled you up because it's true. As far as respecting anything you say, forget it. I don't take criticism from hypocrites like you.

Temmper Knight - just scroll on by then.

Oh, please, befair, you went on a BDS rant on another thread. You're about as neutral as Paul Begala. It's quite obvious you are here to try to mislead, and try to get people to vote for Obama by claiming you were uncommitted when in fact you weren't. Your kind are a dime a dozen.
Posted by: templar knight | Friday, August 29, 2008 at 05:06 PM
Temmper Knight -I am simply in awe of your ability to read a message board and know all there is to know about someone who posts. If you are indeed clairvoyant, could you let me know where Jimmy Hoffa is? LOL BTW I may not know what Acorn is or what a BDS rant is, but I have seen Paul Begala on TV. Not too impressed.
Posted by: befair | Friday, August 29, 2008 at 05:10 PM
"Where is Jimmy Hoffa, she says?"
Somewhere on the South side of Chicago, I'm thinking. Why don't you ask that clown from the Southside who is running for President? He might know. He hangs around with criminal types and convicted terrorists. Haven't you heard the old adage that "birds of a feather flock together"?
Posted by: templar knight | Friday, August 29, 2008 at 05:19 PM
Temmper - I know you will not believe me but perhaps there are some fair minded people here who will. Forget Liberal and Conservative for a moment (and I identify myself with moderates), I don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water, but I do not feel any kind of affinity for McCain - Palin seems to be a likeable, honest person. I was never a Hillary fan but mostly because of Bill - too much baggage. I do like Joe Biden as a person (but of course do not know him personally) but I think he has been through a lot in his personal life and had lived it honorably and been a good family man. I have been bouncing around on the Obama issue - need to separate the chaff from the wheat so to speak. I wish the campaign would be more about issues and fixes than personalities. I am afraid of John McCain, plain and simply, and I am not one of the "my friends" - gag.
