Towleroad - "a site with homosexual tendencies" looks to be making a flap as the millionaire owner of a gay men's website has donated to John McCain. And just to fuel the outrage they link to a comment thread in which the man, Jonathan Crutchley defended his actions. The link to an on line personals site.
I just read that Jonathan Crutchley is a liberal republican that has donated to John MCCain's campaign, another gay republican donating to people who don't believe in equal rights for gay men and women, in particular gay adoption, gay marriage or civil unions...I am so disappointed.

Dear Roger:
Welcome to the age of the internet, where everyone's private life becomes public. Yes, my contribution to John McCain's campaign for president was listed on the Huffington Post. I believe McCain will be a better commander-in-chief than Obama, who also opposes gay marriage. If we have an experienced, seasoned person defending the country in this dangerous age, we will be able to argue about the gay agenda later. Yes, I am a Massachusetts Republican, which is about the same as being an Alabama Democrat. But don't call me a "liberal." That's an insult.

Now that's just plain funny. But liberal is as liberal does, and Johnny Mac is a died-in-the-wool Northeastern Rockefeller Republican: a liberal Republican.

Mr. Crutchley is a guy who "get's it". He understands that, per the Constitution, the President is charged to enforce the laws enacted by Congress, conduct foreign policy and command the military. Those who base their political judgments on the fidelity of politician to their own agenda just don't understand the unique and enduring nature of our government.

Ask him why he lives in MA? He's a liberal...

"--- Ask him why he lives in MA? He's a liberal... ---"
Dunno how all of that works - residency in MA does not come with a requirement to be a liberal (I know a rather particularly conservative gentleman who'd be somewhat to the right of Goldwater from MA).
As for this Crutchley character, I reckon that he will find a small part of his subscribers heading to other "dating"/pr0n sites as a result of his support for Johnny Mac. I'm sure it was a calculated risk for him.

Either way he likely enjoys the rather liberal view held in Massachusetts regarding his lifestyle, seems somewhat hypocritical.

I will not allow stories like this in my newspaper. I don't care if the Obama campaign is accepting hundreds or thousands of illegal foreigner and jihadic donations to his election. We print all the news we see fit to print. That doesn't include stories like this http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/08/obamas_donor_contributions_sil.html

If only he was even that good. He's not.

There is no such thing as a "liberal Republican." There are very few moderates left in the GOP.
