Michelle Malkin has a late breaking item of another Obama adviser, Mazen Asbahi, jumping off of and under the campaign bus because of queries by the Wall Street Journal.
Well, that was quick. A little over a week ago, the Obama campaign proudly touted the appointment of a new Muslim outreach director. Now, he’s out following questions about his ties to a radical Muslim imam and the Muslim brotherhood. Doesn’t anyone do background checks for The One after all this time?
While Michelle documents Asbahi's ties to Jamal Said that caused some concern:
The eight-year-old connection between Mr. Asbahi and Mr. Said was raised last week by the Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Report, which is published by a Washington think tank and chronicles the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood, a world-wide fundamentalist group based in Egypt.
a deeper Google search turned up Asbahi's name on this pdf file from Asbahi's alma mater, the University of Michigan - see page 13. It appears Asbahi was an officer with the Muslim Student's Association in 1996, which fits with the years of his attendance there.
President of the Great Lakes Muslim Students Association Council (Mazen Asbahi)
We, the undersigned servants of Allah, The Most Merciful, and Most Beneficent, acting as the official representatives of the local Muslim Student Community of the Ann Arbor Vicinity hereby declare that on this day, the 18th of April 1996, that this document sets forth the organizational guidelines of this local community and shall hence, be considered the principal governing law of the Muslim Students Association of the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). This document was adopted by the written Consultation (vote) of the General Body and was approved by 84.2% of our members.

That sounds all well and good, until you click on this NRO item by Stephen Schwartz and read up on the MSA. What with Obama's already known ties to an un-reconstructed domestic terrorist and now this, doesn't he have anyone he can tap for his campaign that doesn't have an agenda some might characterize as anti-American?
Butcher Enablers
The Muslim Students’ Association and antiwar demonstrations. When its leaders speak to mainstream media, MSA presents itself as a campus-service organization not much different from other collegiate faith groups. But the reality is very different, and deeply sinister. MSA is a key element in the Wahhabi lobby, and a cornerstone of the conspiracy by Saudi-backed extremists to control American Islam, as well the public discourse about Islam in America.
Above all, MSA now seeks to present itself as moderate and opposed to terrorism, even though its chapters have distributed the propaganda of Osama bin Laden on its websites, along with publicity-recruiting campaigns for Wahhabi subversion of the Chechen struggle in Russia.

Asbahi.

Unbelievably silly. Reminds me of what I have read about the persecution of the jews in Europe, everyone with any link is considered a traitor, or to have sinister motives, however tenuous and ridiculous that link may be. Send 'em all back to where they came from, huh guys?

The wheels of the bus go round and round
Every other day they go wham bam, up and down
And behind the bus
You find another Obama Clown.

But I'm not an Islamist, yea, right.

Here is more evidence that no unfavorable adjective may be attached to Obie that isn't a code word for n----. If it weren't so dangerous, it would be hysterically funny.

A six-member military jury found Salim Ahmed Hamdan guilty of supporting al-Qaeda by providing such services as driving and guarding bin Laden and ferrying weapons for the terror organization. The jurors found him not guilty of conspiring with bin Laden in terrorist attacks. The same uniformed jurors will hold another hearing Wednesday afternoon to determine a sentence.

I still am not sure that spending all this time and effort on someone who is basically a soldier, though not a Geneva Convention qualifier, is the best way to go. These enemy combatants should be held as prisoners of war until the war is over. If it takes 30 years, it was his choice.

This is a poor write up. Muslim Americans are no less Americans than jewish or christian citizens of the US. (I am a christian, white, male). The Muslim faith is not hateful, but people conjuring up hate--- like this author--- only profess their own ignorance and intolerance. Go look in the mirror and put down the pen. Your divisive words have fallen on deaf ears.

"Your divisive words have fallen on deaf ears."
Sorry to hear about your disability, dim, dimmer, dimmest. I'm sure you will get better when you go back and read some Kos.

"Muslim Americans are no less Americans than jewish or christian citizens of the US."
You have some very flawed reasoning, ddd. I never said they were less American. But, guess what, the KKK (white) was unAmerican, Obama's old terror buddy college prof guy is white - also un-American - and there are Jewish people I would characterize as Un-American, too.
I said nothing about the average Muslim, or the estimated 85% walking around who don't support extremism. What you are attempting to do is make any discussion of individuals with known affiliations with extreme Islamic thought off-limits.And that makes me wonder exactly where your sentiments really rest?

Folks like "ddd" are likely "Christians" by self-identification, but may be suspiciously willing to compromise with Islam and other forms of idolatry, much like the UUs and the hyper-liberal wings of the Episcopalians, the PCUSA, and the "Gay Church" (Metropolitan Community Church), all of which distort the true Words of the Saviour to ruinous heresies.
Islam has no tradition in this Republic, it is not a faith which has a founding influence, as some revisionists would like to replace our Judaeo-Christian heritage with a more complex, manufactured "Islamo-Judaeo-Christian" construct or possibly a more easily manageable brand of "Abrahamic faith".
Islam is a demonic, idolatry driven cult of death which is based upon an ancient Sumerian moon goddess "Suen" or "Sin" and was given a bit of a sex change by the extremely patriarchal Arab cultures, in time pasting the generic Arabic name of diety, al-alah (a cognate of the Hebrew "El" and Aramaic "Eloi") and being compressed into "Allah".
That particular idol "Sin" (the transgendered FTM "god" idol) came to have three daughters, Al-Lat, Al-Uzza, and Manat, who are conveniently left out of modern Islamic discourse (they are vaguely referenced in the Koran, and later Islamic teaching holds that Mohammed was deceived by Satan into inserting a command to worship these goddesses in the Koran).
How then can a faith built upon lies and deceptions be trusted? How can this idol be exalted and lifted up above, or even equal to the True God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, through Whom all mankind may be saved?
Now from a proper Christian perspective, Muslims should be loved, prayed for, given due courtesy and of course, be witnessed to, but NEVER should their idolatrous faith be put on an equal or superior cultural footing to our heritage of faith in the True God, whose name is Yahweh, and His Only-Begotten Son, Jesus (Yah'shua).

Mazen? Wahhabi? Youre smoking crack. I know the guy.

I also know Mazen, a great person from a great family. What the McCain campaign did to tarnish his name is shameful.

Asbahi is no more an Islamist for being associated with the Muslim Student Association than Obama is an America-hater for being associated with Jeremiah Wright.
Your post is blatantly misguiding and politically motivated. MSAs across America are America's hopes for cultivating moderate Islam among American Muslims. Don't rely on propagandist literature- go spend some time with MSAs on campuses. Most of them are full of optimistic, moderate, smart, Western-born and educated American Muslims.
