Of course you ignored this part of his statement...

"All sides should enter into direct talks on behalf of stability in Georgia, and the United States, the United Nations Security Council, and the international community should fully support a peaceful resolution to this crisis," Of course you could ignore the fact that this was all prompted by Georgia trying to reclaim a breakaway region with an invasion of their own...but that's all part of your MO isn't it Dan?

Russians invading Georgia?????? I knew all those Cubans in Miami were up to no good. Well as long as they stay south of the Savannah River and Seveirville they can have it as far as I am concerned.

Here's another bit of appeasement-talk from Obama:

I'm deeply concerned about the situation in Georgia. The United States takes this matter very seriously.

The attacks are occurring in regions of Georgia far from the zone of conflict in South Ossetia. They mark a dangerous escalation in the crisis. The violence is endangering regional peace. Civilian lives have been lost, and others are endangered.

This situation can be resolved peacefully. We've been in contact with leaders in both Georgia and Russia at all levels of government. Georgia is a sovereign nation and its territorial integrity must be respected. We have urged an immediate halt to the violence and a stand-down by all troops. We call for an end to the Russian bombings, and a return by the parties to the status quo of August the 6th.

The United States is working with our European partners to launch international mediation, and with the parties to restart their dialogue. Russia needs to support these efforts so that peace can be restored as quickly as possible.

Oh, wait, actually that was George W. Bush. Well, I'm sure Dan condemns Bush's weak-kneed, Chamberlain-like response just as strongly as Obama's. Right Dan?

Funny business going on there in Russkie Georgia. And it isn't any of our business, save for that Georgia's bid to join NATO. Which is, or rather was, certainly a fly in Putin's and Medvedev's collective soup.

We do well to stay out of this fight, and let the resurgent Russian Bear waste her time, blood, and resources on quelling her rebellious break-away regions.

And perhaps make some money supplying arms to the Georgians through "unofficial channels" and make a few bucks for however long we can.

Russia has been expansionist for how many centuries now? Soviet communism seems to have only been a phase of a much larger imperialist history that is continuing to this day. This is serious. From an American interest perspective Georgia is of little significance but the principals at stake are huge. Who will be next?

It just like Israel was told to "show restraint" when Hezzbullah attacked them.

Lil Bush (Chaimberlain), whilst parading around in China, instead of doing his fucking job, said the same thing, numb nuts. And look out: there's quite a bit of appeasment talk coming from seekeronos.
