What you've missed here is a thing we folk here call "current relevancy". Clinton committed his boo-boos of soiling a certain blue dress and deflowering an intern with a cigar WHILE he was a sitting president of these here United States.

Mrs. McCain's *former* drug abuse issue in years past has entirely nothing to do with Mr. McCain's capacity to sit as a president. It is a trifle, a distraction, and a rather sad attempt to badger folks.

We could do quite the same smear with Obama's coke usage, but that's hardly useful since the man couldn't govern himself out of a high school student council meeting: he's had to connive and manoeuvre and squirm his way like a good little Chicago pol to where he's gotten today.

When your voting record in Senate consists of far more "present" votes than "yeas" or "nays", it is a very good sign that he is either a completely useless, non-committal sop, or someone completely devoid of clues or experience - something that McCain at least has in spades (pardon the expression, it's not meant in a racial vein).
