I just noticed this from Politico at the top of Memeorandum:
The executives of a gay sex site are apparently more concerned about the perception that they're associated with John McCain than McCain is about the association with them.
The chairman of the board of Manhunt, the Cambrige(sic)-based hook-up site, was forced to resign after reports that he gave $2,300 to McCain.
Manhunt co-founder Larry Basile emailed the blog Towleroad:
It should be known that Jonathan Crutchley's donation to McCain left the entire Board in disbelief. I am disappointed that we have lost some customers, and I understand the anger. It is too bad for the web site if we lose customers, but PLEASE never refer to me as a Republican. I consider it an offense.
I hope the media picks up on the other party who felt insulted. Posted here on the 13th. Crutchley first responded to criticism on line. I'm not sure where it is the management and gay readers of Manhunt hang out, but it obviously isn't inside a very Big Tent. Crutchley wasn't only Chairman - I believe he was also a co-founder. Perhaps the site out-shrunk him?
Dear Roger:
Welcome to the age of the internet, where everyone's private life becomes public. Yes, my contribution to John McCain's campaign for president was listed on the Huffington Post. I believe McCain will be a better commander-in-chief than Obama, who also opposes gay marriage. If we have an experienced, seasoned person defending the country in this dangerous age, we will be able to argue about the gay agenda later. Yes, I am a Massachusetts Republican, which is about the same as being an Alabama Democrat. But don't call me a "liberal." That's an insult.

Another gay man taking it up the rear from his friends. Oh, and what was that statement about dems supporting diversity yesterday by Chair Dean? Guess some of his stalinist troops didn't get the memo? Why isn't the ACLU crying about this assault on this guy's civil rights. Don't they always complain when someone's off the job behavoir is used to terminate that individual's job? Oh, that's right, they don't support Repubs or their supporters, when they find themselves on the short end of the stick.

Would you be this upset if a member of the NAACP was fired for donating money to David Duke?

"Would you be this upset if a member of the NAACP was fired for donating money to David Duke?"
So...NAACP Member gives cash to Davide Duke = A private citizen (who happens to be a co-founder of some EHarmony knock off for gay dudes in Cambridge) giving a political donation to Presidential Candidate John McCain?
Ahhh...the reality based community.
I bet your professors put 'smiley faces' on your papers, don't they?
Thank you for reason 3,187,642 why no one takes the left seriously.
You may now pick up your plate of food and march your ass down to the kiddie table.

BTW...Spartan?
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona broke forcefully with President Bush and the Senate GOP leadership Tuesday evening over the issue of same-sex marriage, taking to the Senate floor to call a constitutional amendment that would effectively ban the practice unnecessary -- and un-Republican.
I bet Crutchley wished he could have given more.
Obama? 100% against gay marriage across the board. Well...this week anyway.
I guess at the time McCain gave that quote, you're Dear Leader was busy in the Senate trying to figure out which committees he were 'his' and how to vote 'present' on something or other.
Or maybe Obama was hanging out with your mysterious NAACP Member and David Duke that day.
Which brings up another stupefying point of your NAACP/Duke analogy. Obama is getting donations from quite a few RonPaulBots.
Who really hate them some darkies.
But really REALLY hate John McCain.
But you're cool with that, right?
Can ya hear me ok down there at the kiddie table?

Actually considering McCains stance on gay rights the analogy is quite apt...do I need to give you a minute to look up the word "analogy"?
While looking for VP candidates McCain has said he'd consider Tom Ridge even given his support of abortion rights, but when asked if he'd consider Mayor Bloomberg he said he wasn't as "palatable" because he's pro gay rights. So explain to me how this is somehow an off the mark comparison?
And while McCain may be opposed to a gay-marriage amendment he does not support gay marriage or domestic partnerships so he's no champion of the gay rights movement.
Posted by: Spartan112 | Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 06:14 PM
"And while McCain may be opposed to a gay-marriage amendment he does not support gay marriage or domestic partnerships so he's no champion of the gay rights movement."
Domestic Partnerships (aka 'Civil Unions') are have been law for quite some time now.
You sir, are an obvious expert on the 'Gay Rights Movement.'
Define the 'Movement' goals for me, will you?
McCain says gay marriage is a states rights issue which belongs on a ballot. I agree. And you are an uninformed idiot.
But your messiah?
Not so much. Actually he says as little as he has to. Just like a good Chicago politician. You should stop asking, and let him eat his waffle.
Friggin' Bloomberg!? That's the best arrow you could find in your quiver?
BWAHAHAHAH!
And Tom Ridge 'has been mentioned." Ooooohhhh...'mentioned.'
By that logic, your side is wafting farts of John Kerry for VP for crying out loud. Wanna go down that road?
"So explain to me how this is somehow an off the mark comparison?"
You've already done it, jr. Digging the hole deeper just makes it harder for you to get out.
Jeebus, I know at most State/Ivy League Universities these days you can get a (HUMANITIES!) BA with a note from your (liberal) Mother, but you honestly think you're 'educated,' don't you?
Get out of the deep end Spartan. You're not wearing your water wings.

"Domestic Partnerships (aka 'Civil Unions') are have been law for quite some time now."
Law where? Only 4 US states recognize Civil Unions and another 2 have same sex marriage. McCain supports neither.
"Define the 'Movement' goals for me, will you?"
One of the goals is national recognition of same sex marriage.
"McCain says gay marriage is a states rights issue which belongs on a ballot. I agree. And you are an uninformed idiot."
Good for you...do you also believe civil rights for Blacks should be a state by state ballot issue? And again, McCain supports a state by state vote, but he personally is against CU's and Gay Marriage. Are you a nuckle dragging F***tard?
"Friggin' Bloomberg!? That's the best arrow you could find in your quiver?
BWAHAHAHAH!
And Tom Ridge 'has been mentioned." Ooooohhhh...'mentioned.'"
I think you are completely missing my point in bringing up those two...but that's not all that shocking. I bring them up simply to point out that McCain is anti-gay and has said as much through his refusal to consider Bloomberg BECAUSE of his stance in support of gay rights. Is that clear enough for you or do I need to dumb it down to single syllables?
"Jeebus, I know at most State/Ivy League Universities these days you can get a (HUMANITIES!) BA with a note from your (liberal) Mother, but you honestly think you're 'educated,' don't you?

Actually I KNOW I'm educated, sorry I didn't collect enough box tops to get my Phd from Bob Jones U.

"I think you are completely missing my point in bringing up those two"...
Stung, did it?
..."and has said as much through his refusal to consider Bloomberg BECAUSE of his stance in support of gay rights."
Show your homework sparky.
..."missing my point"...
Your point? Ah yes...your 'point.' Conjecture, projection, some sort of goal post moving aparatus, an Official Obama talking points 'label maker', and a giant 'bull shit cannon.'
True, true. I have totally missed your 'point.'
"...single syllables?"
I'm not the one with my pants around my ankles, showing 'The One' my big 'O!' (don't worry... I'm sure it's nice and he'll be gentle).
Have you mastered the goatse salute! yet?
"Actually I KNOW I'm educated, sorry I didn't collect enough box tops to get my Phd from Bob Jones U."
Ooooh...you 'KNOW.'
Well, that makes all the difference in the world Professor Dohrn. Sorry for the accusation (snicker).
I'm gonna go look up 'anaolgy' now.

"Law where? Only 4 US states recognize Civil Unions and another 2 have same sex marriage."
That's 6.
It's 7 states now stupid. Even though the messiah's against it, I'm with you!
...Only 50 more states to go.
"do you also believe civil rights for Blacks should be a state by state ballot issue? And again, McCain supports a state by state vote, but he personally is against CU's and Gay Marriage. Are you a nuckle dragging F***tard?"
Guess so.
Gays aren't a race, jackass.
Civil Rights Laws (as they're written) don't enter in to it.
You wanna champion 'civil unions' in Obama's other 50 states? I'd stand next to you on that.
Well...probably not next to you. Eight or ten feet to the side throwing spitballs at your head, but we'd be on the same team and all.

..."and has said as much through his refusal to consider Bloomberg BECAUSE of his stance in support of gay rights."
Show your homework sparky."
"I think it's a fundamental tenet of our party to be pro-life but that does not mean we exclude people from our party that are pro-choice. We just have a--albeit strong--but just it's
a disagreement. And I think Ridge is a great example of that. Far moreso than Bloomberg, because Bloomberg is pro-gay rights, pro, you know, a number of other issues." -The Weekly Standard
Is that good enough for you?
"I'm gonna go look up 'anaolgy' now."
Good luck looking up 'anaolgy', let me know how that works out for you.
Posted by: Spartan112 | Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 08:02 PM
Look at'cha Google.
From that article, I tend to hit more on the "[with Bloomberg] a number of other issues," and, "McCain has a solid pro-life voting record and has promised to appoint "strict constructionists" to the Supreme Court," but then, I'm voting for the guy.
Still. You get some chops for producing the quote.
Me? I say Bloomberg has bundled millions for McCain. McCain has to help him.
John McCain: "Mayor, thank you for your hard work. If I had to "turn you down" for VP, what would most help you out politically?
Mayor Bloomberg: "Senator have you ever seen 'Sex in the City?"
John McCain: "My wife used to watch it..."
Mayor Bloomberg: "In two words John...'gay rights' gets me re-elected"
John McCain: "Done."
You're NAACP/Duke analogy is still ridiculous horseshit.
And unless you produce the quote where John McCain advocates beating/ lynching gay people, you know it.

"You're NAACP/Duke analogy is still ridiculous horseshit."
You might like to think so, but you'd be equally hard pressed to find a quote from David Duke advocating the lynching/beating of blacks.

"Duke graduated from LSU in 1974. The year of his graduation, he formed the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan."
McCain was released from the 'Hanoi Hilton' in a chest cast, 'permanently incapable of raising his arms above his head' in March, 1973.
"A follower of Duke, Thom Robb, changed the title of Grand Wizard to National Director and replaced the Klan's white robes with business suits"...
McCain underwent treatment for his injuries, including months of grueling physical therapy, and attended the National War College at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C. during 1973–1974. Having been rehabilitated, by late 1974, McCain had his flight status reinstated, and in 1976 he became commanding officer of a training squadron stationed in Florida. He turned around an undistinguished unit and won the squadron its first Meritorious Unit Commendation.
"As a DEMOCRAT, Duke ran for the Louisiana Senate in 1975."
A newcomer to the state of Arizona, McCain was hit with repeated charges of being a carpetbagger. McCain responded to a voter making that charge with what a Phoenix Gazette columnist would later describe as "the most devastating response to a potentially troublesome political issue I've ever heard."
Listen, pal. I spent 22 years in the Navy. My father was in the Navy. My grandfather was in the Navy. We in the military service tend to move a lot. We have to live in all parts of the country, all parts of the world. I wish I could have had the luxury, like you, of growing up and living and spending my entire life in a nice place like the First District of Arizona, but I was doing other things. As a matter of fact, when I think about it now, the place I lived longest in my life was Hanoi.
You wanna keep going with this Spartan?
David Duke is one thing.
Your boy looks like a weak kneed, mealy mouthed, flip flopping, indecisive, ego centric, cry baby, 300 advisor saddled, beast milk heavy, pussy burdened chump.
Obama?
Jimmy Carter had bigger stones in his kindeys.
Obama is going to loose.
And it ain't because America won't vote for a black guy.
It's because they wouldn't vote for George McGovern in '72.
We're in a period of global war with Islamic crazies who make Nazis look like pikers and want your ass deader than they do me... (and now Putin has found the sickle & is looking for the hammer)...
...America ain't gonna vote for George McGovern.
And they sure as hell won't vote for McGovern's weaker (but brand new & shiny), 1/2 African American Vagina.
Sorry, man.
I know it sucks, but America's a rough go.
...And he's a pussy.

"Duke graduated from LSU in 1974. The year of his graduation, he formed the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan."
Just his big, fat, lucrative DEMOCRATIC Chapter.
Ya know, before you go crazy and think I'm under the assumption that Duke formed the KKK in 1973, 125 years after Nathan Forrest put a sheet on his horse.

Wow you sure can pour out the drivel when you get pissed. You are scared as hell that Obama is going to win...and win he will. I seem to remember another inexperienced campaign back in '92 that didn't stand a chance and they were battling an incumbent.
"Obama is going to loose."
I'm not sure what this mean...do you mean Obama is going too loose? Hmmm...
Posted by: Spartan112 | Sunday, August 17, 2008 at 06:55 AM
"Wow you sure can pour out the drivel when you get pissed. You are scared as hell that Obama is going to win...'
Come on...
Politics, History, Nature say he should be waaaaaaaaaay ahead...but he ain't. At. All.
It wasn't (painfully) obvious that I wrote that whole thing while laughing?
I was 'rolling!'
I mean, Be quiet! Jimmy Carter's vagina is gonna tell a 'knock-knock joke' kinda rolling.
Don't be a goof. Unless Hillary is his running mate he stands NO chance.
Posted by: Lamontyoubigdummy | Sunday, August 17, 2008 at 09:00 AM
He could take me as a running mate and beat McSame with both lobes tied behind his back.
Posted by: Spartan112 | Sunday, August 17, 2008 at 11:13 AM
Come on.. why get all bent out of shape and twist the point of the story/blog? This is about manhunt's dontation to the repubs.. not whether or not "obama is going to loose.." Some people are so bitter and negative.. (tragic..) I keep reading that this guy "stepped down/resigned" from "chairman.." so... uhmm.. does that mean he has a new title, now? Im sure he is working in the same office, making the same $$$, with the same responsibilites... btw, what does the chairman of a gay sex website like manhunt do? approve the x rated pics? someone help me out on that one...
