It would be unfair to characterize all, or even a majority of liberals as rather pathetic individuals. And certainly there can be plenty of ugliness on the Right, too. But stuff like this just puzzles me:
Alan Colmes of Hannity and Colmes wrote a post so inappropriate and offensive the Kos Kiddies would be envious. He accused Governor Palin of not taking enough care of Trig when he was an unborn baby. A man who has no problem with a woman killing her unborn baby through an abortion actually has the nerve to ask if Governor Palin took too great a risk with her pregnancy:
I tend to believe that who you are expresses itself to some degree in just about everything you do. So how is it that some who claim an ideology that purports to be all about caring and compassion can be so cruel and ultimately disgusting?
It just doesn't fit. And it makes it very hard to believe that at the core of some of these folks there is a genuine empathy for their fellow man. Certainly they appear to have compassion for certain allegedly oppressed, or under-privileged groups. But frankly, I don't believe it's something you can just turn on and off. And I'm left wondering if it isn't something other than compassion that drives their overall agenda.

"a post so inappropriate and offensive."

lol. I guess he got slammed for that one and took it down. He's such a moron anyway.

"--- And I'm left wondering if it isn't something other than compassion that drives their overall agenda. ---"
It is all about a bloodlust for having ultimate political power.
Just like any well-heeled believer in Mao, Marx, Stalin, Putin, or Obama.
They won't be happy until all the guns are collected, the Christians* are safely locked up or perhaps even better, exterminated; and everyone REAL-ID microchipped and under 24/7 surveillance, being finally made into subjects of a socialist, humanistic empire instead of citizens of a largely God-fearing Republic.
...
* I'm sure that the true believing, Gospel-obedient Christians will be "liquidated" because of their preaching the unpleasant truth that their is only salvation and eternal life through Jesus Christ... who is the TRUE "change agent" by transforming us from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of God, and from working in His children a transformation and CHANGE from disobedience to obedience to God in love.
As for the "faux christians", that is, the majority of the Joel Olsteen all-song-and-dance-but-no-substance megachurch goers who make a great show of their religiosity, but are lacking in the love of God in their hearts - showing the bitter fruit of Pharisaism... well they may or may not be tolerated, but more likely than not, when put to the test, they'll quickly forsake their confession of Christ and "join the Party" to save their hides while forgetting about The Judge who cannot only kill the body, but can destroy both body and soul in Hell.

Colmes must be appalled at Obama's support of infanticide.
Still, this is fun to watch; the left has nothing to work with and so are forced to create controversy where none exists, and still end up looking like fools.
Yeah, the party which doesn't believe a baby is viable until it takes it's first breath, and even then barely, is suddenly up in arms about how Palin treated the "lump of tissue" in her abdomen? Clownshoes.

"How Can You Be Liberal And So Pathetic?"
Aren't they always?
Posted by: Riff | Sunday, August 31, 2008 at 12:22 PM
I actually wrote Colmes a letter in 2006 because of the nasty (and racist) things he said on H&C about Maryland's Michael Steele, who was running for Senate at the time. This is certainly not a new pattern, but the Left is getting more and more desperate, it seems. But because they are liberal, no one can question their "pure" motives or patriotism. The intellectual dishonesty and double standards they employ are shameful.
Posted by: melanzan | Sunday, August 31, 2008 at 12:43 PM
And now we see the left is further reduced to faking nude pics of Palin.
Pathetic. Pathetic. Pa. Thet. IC.

Moments after conception that baby had Down Syndrome. It wouldn't have mattered one bit how she took care of herself. The syndrome is caused by the addition of an extra chromosome.

I concluded a long time ago that Colmes is just a scary-looking dude that Fox puts up next to Hannity to “represent” the left.

Liberals are sick. Their minds are sick, therefore what comes out of their mouths reflects that sickness. And if we're not extremely careful, we are going to put the inmates in charge of the asylum.

Downs syndrome is a genetic abnormality that is present at conception. Some developmental disabilities can be caused during pregnancy, but Downs syndrome isn't one of them. Palin acted on the advice of her doctor. How can a doctor who has never seen the patient second-guess that advice?
Anyway, I thought the baby wasn't supposed to be hers to begin with?

That guy Colmes is so weird looking. the way he looks. #1. like something the cat dragged in #2. a ghoul #3. one of either the walking dead or the undead #4. a living breathing corpse. #5: a really scary looking dude.#6.inly he seems like the guy who opens the door at a funeral home. Undetaker or funeral director. He really is a creepy looking guy who gives me the creeps.

I thought that a pregnant woman could do whatever she wants with her own body? What happened to the "choice" argument?
Odd that a liberal would pounce on a woman for maintaining that carefully protected tenet of the democrat party.

Odder still is that KOS was the founding blog for this smear story, yet they outlawed any discussion of the Edward's affair.
That's the left for you, ignoring very real scandals in their own party while creating them out of whole cloth for the GOP.
Nice work, libs, nice work.

Compassion from a liberal. Puhleeze. They are all control freaks. I learned this first-hand when for 5 years I had 24/7 care of my Mom after her strokes. It was a constant fight against social workers and hospital workers who could not conceive of the idea that I, as an only child, would leave a high paying, upwardly mobile job to devote myself to full time care of my 90 year old Mother. I was told, and I quote, "Why wouldn't you stick her in a nursing home and visit her once a month on Sundays? What is your ulterior motive?"
The fact that Mom did not want to go into a nursing home and did not need that type of care was unimportant to them, afterall she was old and therefore, must not be in control of her faculties. She needed to be their victim, not my and Mom's success story. When it got back to the hospital social worker that I took my Mom on a trip down memory land, revisiting some of her favorite haunts of childhood, including a trip to Yosemite, they accused me of elder abuse. Yet, the album of pictures I have from that trip show a woman beaming widely and having the time of her life.
When my Mom heard someone say she had become incompetent because of her stroke, she went ballistic. She was livid. "I didn't lose my mind, just part of my vision. Bring it on. I. AM. NO. VICTIM."
At no time between her initial stroke and her death 6 years later at age 94, was I offered any kind of compassion. They made life miserable for me and my Mom by constantly interfering and trying to separate us and turn her into a zombie with high dose meds, and tie her up in a wheelchair pushed into a corner. They hated me because I wouldn't let them do that to my Mother. They hated her because she wouldn't give up and let them control whatever life she had left.
Oh, and when they found out that her wish for her 92 birthday was a trip to Disneyland just so she could watch all the kids having a good time and feel young again for the day, they really went off the deep end. We had a great time that day, and got our picture in the paper as 5 generations of women yucking it up with Mickey Mouse. That is the picture of her she left for her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, not some drooling, drugged up scary old lady.

I recall reading comments from liberals declaring that Holmes is a closet-conservative put in to look excessively stupid in comparison to Sean Hannity, who riles Liberals like chalk scratching a blackboard.
Holmes is perhaps the most listened-to lib talk-radio outlet [2+ million] simply as blowback from Hannity's 10+ million audience every evening on radio. Actually, I find many libs persuasive & intelligent---though Holmes, Rich, Krugman, & a dozen other on-air lib talking heads are not that smart.
Holmes is simply an obnoxious second-rate high-school debater set loose among adults on FoxNews. A pathetic repulsive creep who interrupts and tries to talk over smart conservatives who demolish his points with ease and aplomb.
Colmes should be kicked off the H&C show, so Sean doesn't have to deal with such in-house stupidity on an hourly basis.

There are plenty of smart, intelligent, and even compassionate liberals I know - but TV air time is not bought and paid for by the voices of moderation, reason, and when faced with otherwise unresolvable differences, "the agreement to disagree".
It is bought for by the sheep who revel in the vile, abrasive pronouncements by blathermouths like Rush and "Papa Bear" O'Reilly on the right, and Colmes and Olberman on the left.
As an aside to all of this, http://www.kansascity.com/440/story/775883-p2.html says:
"--- The oncoming storm (Hurricane Gustav) prompted President Bush and Vice President Cheney to cancel their travel to the Republican National Convention in Minnesota. Bush had been scheduled to deliver a prime-time speech to delegates Monday night, and Cheney was to speak earlier. ---"
This could be an act of God, a force majeure with the benefit of separating the Legacy of Bush from the McCain-Palin team's rally at the GOP convention.

The best response to Colmes' brand of idiocy would be for Hannity to invite Sarah Palin to appear on the show (I'm sure Hannity has likely done this already!). The sight of Sarah Palin verbally eviscerating and then castrating a sputtering, stammering, apologetic Colmes would be truly a "YouTube Moment for the Ages."
I've got a sawbuck that it's gonna happen within the next couple of weeks! Stay tuned!

I think this is just the beginning of the slanderous comments about Palin. We've all heard about the unsubstantiated rumour I'm sure by now since the usual suspects are blogging about it. If it's true it poses a serious problem since even though it show's Palin's compassion it would serious call her judgement into question. And it's kinda weird. Regardless, it needs to be dealt with soon. If it turns out to be substantiated I know that we'll deal with it about 100x better than the left handled the John Edwards issue. I'm going to enjoy laughing at Daily Koz and Huffpo if it is proven wrong but I'm going to be just a bit heartbroken if it turns out to be true. Anyway, I think the rumour although intriguing (albeit tasteless) is baseless because I have a hard time believing that medical professionals would lie to the media about a patient because so much is at stake for them. Why put it on the line for any politician. Especially in this day and age. This isn't the 50s anymore.
Posted by: Dan S. | Sunday, August 31, 2008 at 10:10 PM
The more I think about it, the rumour about Palin can't be true. It would be so stupid for her to have risked what she risked. And like I pointed out in my earlier comment, the web of lies and fabrications would have to stretch a mile and impact the career and credibility of numerous medical professionals, not to mention Palin's. This kind of stuff has happened a lot over the years but I have a very hard time believing that someone would try to pull a stunt like this in 2008. Would not have hurt Palin's career one bit to have just dealt with it honestly if the rumour was true (Yes, I'm being intentionally vague about this rumour because this isn't my blog and it hasn't been directly brought up here yet). Dan Rhiel's probably taking the high road on this and I want to respect that but man I just have to get this crap off my chest because it would seriously disappoint me to be honest if it was true.

Here is my question: Palin dove into a corrupt arena, Alaska politics, and identified and conquered corruption.
Obama also dove into a corrupt arena, Chicago politics, and yet found nothing wrong, nothing to complain about, nothing to investigate.
When will McCain use this obvious, but as yet unmentioned, political fact to his advantage?

"Can this unbelievably STUPID theory get put to rest now?"
This one has legs. Drunken wobbly artificial legs, but its something they're not going to let go even after definitively being proven wrong. They need something to cling to. It won't be guns or bibles, so they gotta go with fake bullshit.

I'm tellin' ya, it was Karl Rove's *good* twin brother, Carl Rove, and BatBoy. They conspired to frame Ms. Palin with her daughter's down syndrome kid, AND if it does turn out to be hers, then it is because she flew after her water broke, and had a few gin & tonics on the way back to Tipperary.
A frame job, I tells ya! A frame job!

Yes, I suppose so, but holy shiite this is low. The left has attacked not only Palin but her daughter, imagine what SHE must be thinking?
JFK and Scoop Jackson must be spinning in their graves, their party has gone off the cliff.

Man, I take a couple of days to get away from it all and come back to a sideshow of complete moonbat stupidity.
Colmes is a loser. If Hannity doesn't get in this asshats face Monday night he may lose some credibility with his conservative fans. The only tactic Colmes ever uses is his standard line of "well yea our guy may have done that but your guy did this". MSNBC would be a much better fit for his skills. They could have the Matthews and Colmes show that only fellow moonbats would watch.
They were so completely blindsided by McCain's VP pick that they are pissed off at the world even more than normal.
Their boy picks an old loser liberal white guy that has nothing to do with "hope" or "change".
McCain shows who the true maverick is and goes for a young Washington outsider that has a reputation for rooting out corruption. If you needed to connect with middle class voters what better choice than to pick a running mate that happens to be well versed in energy issues, has worked in an executive capacity, came from simple roots and has five kids.
To borrow from Barry's racist agenda line "And did I mention that he's a woman". What we are seeing is the continuing problem the left has with women in power. They are the first to raise the issue of "racism". The problem is they are incredibly sexist and people will see that for themselves even without the MSM's help.
With the fact that she is all of the above and a woman and you have the single most defining moment in this election cycle. The puppet masters know this and have unleashed the attack dogs not only on her but Cindy McCain as well. These people have one overiding concern and that is to establish a far left Federal Government.
Troll central will stop at nothing to try and destroy this woman and her family. But you know she must be pretty tough to have gone in and dealt with the corruption that was rampant in Alaska's state government.
Just image what this real "community organizer" could have done in Chicago to kick out the same kind of corrupt politicians that created the Manchurian Candidate we all must worship "the One". After seeing the "Temple of Doom" show with Barry and "300" on the same night last week I now relaize that he is more like the "great Xerxes"

Ok, I think the "baby mama drama" or whatever it's being called can be put out of it's misery. It's laughable. I can't believe I was even worried about it. I'm more worried about my own judgement now than Gov. Palin's. I think Lala is right and it is going to blow up in the lefty blogger's faces big time.
