The source for this story is the young woman's confidant, a blogger and long-time friend of RWV who requested anonymity so as to prevent politics from intruding onto her personal apolitical blog. The accompanying image was supplied by her as well.
"I want John McCain," the young strawberry-blond now confides to anyone who will listen, just days after spending hours of primping, riding in a car and waiting in line under the hot sun to enter a steamy town hall in the Midwest where, as if in a dream she'd had, the prospective Republican nominee for President, Senator John McCain's eyes just happened to land on her of all people among the crowd.
The picture, taken after that initial contact, has an almost innocent ... playful look - the two of them captured on film seemingly oblivious to what was going on about. But it's only playful if one hasn't read Bethany's newly launched blog - designed as a sort of tribute, a diary, if you will, of her incredible passion for just one man, prospective Republican nominee and Arizona Senator, John Sidney McCain.
Meet ten-year old Bethany, who since meeting Senator McCain has launched a web blog and YouTube channel to help support the prospective Republican nominee's campaign. Obviously, McCain is not the only suitor for Bethany's young political affections. But as only a confident young woman can, she rebuffs advocates for Barack Obama rather offhandedly:
'she's willing to tell everyone with a "Obama 08" shirt - "change? you want someone offering change, but he doesn't even say what sort of change? It could be, like change to make things worse!! Your mom drop you on your head??"'
Bethany lists her Mother as a major political influence, but, alas, not her Father:
Influences: My Mom. Not my dad, cause he's not Republican. But I still love him a lot, and he's good for other stuff.
However, I have been assured in email from Bethany's confidant (her Mother) that, feeling badly because she forgot to thank the man she calls "her hero" for his kindness, such was her excitement - she set right to converting her Father upon arriving home and now has his word that he will vote for John McCain come this Fall.
I want John McCain to be the president and some of the reasons I think you should vote for John McCain are:
Because John McCain works for the people of the USA, and not for himself. He will help save tax payer money by voting earmarked pork bills that come across his desk! That other guy has voted to approve so much pork spending, it comes up to like one million dollars for every day he's been in office!!
He wants to stop all the corruption in Congress. Like when he was in Ohio, he said that he wanted to stop Congress from taking 5 week vacations in the middle of an energy crisis.
He wants to restore the economy and start offshore drilling for oil NOW!
He wants to stop sending 7 billion dollars to countries that HATE us, especially when some of that money could be going to terrorist organizations!!!
He wants to put the country first.
He has more experience than that other guy Obama.
Regardless of one's political stripe, at a time when our nation's politics have grown so cynical and many current political headlines read more like tabloid trash, than political reportage - maybe it's good to pause and remember that there are still plenty of bright-eyed, wonderful children like Bethany who care deeply about our country and want to do what they believe is right to keep America strong.
Perhaps some very important aspects of America really don't need much change at all.
Bethany's web blog and YouTube channel. If you're a political junkie like me ... feel free to look around, smile to yourself while pondering politics and have some fun with it if you want a real change.

A couple weeks ago, I was babysitting a 9-year-old girl. Jokingly, I asked who she'd vote for president if she were allowed to.
She said, "Well, I'm not voting for Obama because he's statist."
Me, impressed she even knew the word 'statist': "What do you mean by 'statist'?"
Her: "He wants bigger government."
Me: "Hmm. Okay. So who will you vote for?"
Her: "I'm not voting for Hillary because she's socialist."
Me: "What do you mean she's socialist?"
Her: "She wants to raise taxes so she can give hardworking people's money to other people. And I don't like McCain because of the war...."
Me: "We've already won the war in Iraq. The president is decreasing deployment time and has started to bring troops home."
Her (brightening up): "In that case, I'm voting for McCain!"
It's never too early to start them young. :)

Just a little different approach from the kid that Barry scared the crap out of the other day with his "America Bad" indoctrination.
Nothing like a little "Chope"

That's me in the picture!!!
Johnny Johnny he's our man, if he can't do it no one can.
That's what the cheerleaders said at the rally. They were right.
Vote McCain!!
My mom said I could comment on this.
Thanks for putting me up there!!

You're welcome, Bethany. - Dan

While she's at it, she should blog about how he got a marriage license to his current wife while still legally married to his previous wife. Or how he missed numerous Iraq votes in Senate but still "is for the troops" simply because he's a veteran. Now that's the kind of stuff that makes me want to vote for McCain!

How sad. She's just a mouthpiece for her mother's views. Do you honestly think she has any thoughts of her own on this? Kids can't begin to form their own opinions until a few years later, and she is just saying what she thinks will please her mother. Foul brainwashing.

Right on Bethany!
Thank god for free thinking and intelligent kids like you.
God bless America and remember "Don't feed the trolls!"
The trolls are those people who just post hate and use profanity to make their points. They live in the land of the Daily Koz and Huffington Post and spread mean things about people and their families.
You know when your parents told you to always tell the truth and be repectful to others. Well with the trolls and their fellow moonbat friends they never got that message at home. Instead they linger at websites that normal people visit and attempt to irritate and say mean hurtfull things to people they don't even know.
So please continue to listen to your folks as they obviously are doing a great job and make sure your dad keeps his promise to vote for McCain

"Kids can't begin to form their own opinions until a few years later"
This may be the single most stupid thing that ANY moonbat has ever posted here! (And with Lame-O, Harpo, President Carter, THC Abuser and the Sock Puppet that's no easy task!)
Nothing like putting that middle management training at Taco Bell to work!
This guy earns the coveted "Dumbass Moonbat Post of the Year" award!

How inspiring. A ten year old girl believes in Santa Claus and John McCain.

Yes, rw/chris/Boob. And you believe in Obama, hope, and change. Pitiful.

"change? you want someone offering change, but he doesn't even say what sort of change? It could be, like change to make things worse!! Your mom drop you on your head??"
How could I possibly know about his campaign about change? I'm only 10 and my mom hasn't listened to anything that Obama has said and she didn't read anything about his positions. Mom just said he's a socialist. What's a socialist?
