"O"Berlin: Is it a college, a city in Ohio, or ... is it in Germany, now?
Here's a tip for the media and Obama-moonbats who will undoubtedly convince themselves this was the kind of stuff Moses is said to have climbed a mountain to hear ... the American people won't really care, one way, or the other.
Barring a world crisis in a particular region, Americans get about as excited over a politician speaking abroad as they do about what's for dinner on just any old night. And I doubt Obama's We are the world rhetoric will change that one bit.
I suspect a fair number of Obama's "media events" are just that - things that are created by and only significant within the mainstream media. And we all know how fewer and fewer people are paying attention to that all the time.

Sing it from the rooftops, Dan. Be loud. Be proud. Don't let anyone mistake you for one of those Obama-loving hippies.
No sir. You are voting for McCain, because by god he's good enough, he's smart enough, and gosh darnit, people like him.

It is a small wonder that Obama didn't preach from the Mount of Olives ala the Sermon on the Mount (which he mistakenly believes that Jesus authorized gay marriage from)... much less doing the Reagan/JFK schtick at the Brandenburg Gate.
I just bet Chris Matthews would have soiled himself at that.
As for McCain, he is nearly as useless as Obama.

The Germans aren't stupid. They know tired rhetoric when they see it.

Berlin is a Media Whore event for the guy in an emtpy suit with an empty resume and Marxist leanings.

"the guy in an emtpy suit with ... Marxist leanings."
Tell us about that, those dreaded Marxist leanings

Don Surbur fisks Obie's I'm-the-King-of-the-World speech and finds it is full of false claims and short on facts. Dhoooooooww. A fine mess you've gotten us into now, Stanley.

Jake Tapper shows how the "non-political" speech in Berlin can be turned into a political fund-raiser here at home. Any questions?

JC, how much money does this guy [the King of the World] aim to get to buy the presidency anyway?
Posted by: Fred Beloit | Friday, July 25, 2008 at 07:34 AM
Playing up his race, Obie said this in his King of the World speech: "I know that I don't look like the Americans who've previously spoken in this great city." Since Obie is half white, I guess he thinks all blacks or at least half of them look alike.
Unfortunately, as the JustOneMinute blog explains, this is another non-fact.
Martin King and Jesse Jackson both spoke in Berlin at different times.

Obama's "media events"
More like a Bway tour of "Jesus Christ Superstar" only the principal lead can't sing or dance.

A New Republic writer thinks the press may turn against The King of the World because of the arrogance and secrecy of his campaign staff. Of course the staffers can be fired; The One is irreplaceable.

Ann Althouse, in top form, writes about Obie's words concerning the Berlin airlift (1848).
"'But in the darkest hours, the people of Berlin kept the flame of hope burning. The people of Berlin refused to give up.'
I guess we're not supposed to think about how Obama wanted and still wants to give up on the Iraq war. Surely, if he'd been there in 1948, he would have said the Berlin airlift is hopeless. He thought the surge was hopeless.
I won't excerpt the rest of the speech. You can read it, but I'll summarize: Come on, people now, smile on your brother, everybody get together, try to love one another, right now."

Well, syn, the early bird gets...to give the bird to others. Can't wait till the sleepy-eyed libs read these items and go ape.

Kathryn Lopez at THE CORNER reminds us that the man who said we all need to learn a European language spoke to the Germans in English. Anyone care to guess what language The King of the World will use to speak to the French?

The King of the Two Americas [Jon Edwards] seems to have two families as well, but one of them is classified. Oh, you won't read about this classified story in the MSM. In the case of the LA TImes, Mickey Kaus explains why:

This staged event is a big coverup by the media...the so called adoring crowds where there for a free all day concert and street fair...
Are the American voters that stupid to believe that all of the Germans would be there to see Obama read from a teleprompter?
Obama claims he is about change...why hasnt the American media asked him these questions..
1. As a community organizer what sustaianable change did you implement and what were the results?
2. As an elected official in Illinois what sustaianable change did you implement and what were the results?
3. As a US Senator what sustaianable change did you implement and what were the results?
They will not ask him these questions...because they already know the answer..he did nothing and changed nothing...

Super questions, JOM. I'm sure Moe, Worst, chris, DeBookie, or one of the other brilliant troolls who write here will present a penetrating and cogent analysis and answer.

Those are some damn good questions, JOM. Too bad the media was busy asking him about lapel pins and Hawaiian birth certificates. Perhaps you should send your complaints and questions you would like to see asked to the major networks when they next host a debate. Or you could visit Obama's website, read his autobiographies, pick through his wiki, or do some independent research leafing through his Senate voting records in hopes of answering some of these questions for yourself.
Or you could just toss them out into the wind, call Obama a Communist, and pull the lever for McCain anyway.
Totally up to you.

Lols. Even Dan isn't touching that one, Fred. But thanks for jumping on that a solid week after the story broke. Not that the Enquirer isn't a completely trustworthy and reliable source of news, but this was back-to-back with yet another startling expose on Bat Boy. :-p

Moe, you dense piece of cheese, that comment was about the MSM in general and the LAT specifically. Edwards was merely background. You are sssooo knee-jerky. Sheech.

The American people got a chance this week to see Barry for the "Cut and Run", Socialist, Elitist, asshat that he truly is!
His whole reason for going on the "Messiah World Tour" was to give this speech in Germany and for the photo ops! Period, the end!
He excels in using the media to continue his MTV/VH1 crafted image as the "One".
The problem is his speech was in front of a bunch of socialist, America haters like our resident trolls. Just appealing to his base again!
The fact is he chose to give his latest typical, teleprompted, Chris Matthews leg tingling moment in front of a bunch of people who don't vote for POTUS. You know those bitter, clingy, gun toting bible thumpers back home.
He made the choice to speak in his media crafted venue and blew off the visit to see the wounded vets. Why? Because he would have been required to dump the campaign staff and media groupies. Sorry folks seems that the military doesn't take kindly to wounded vets being used as props for a Barry campaign video! In his role as a US Senator he could have gone to visit the wounded troops with his Senate staff. The only problem is they weren't with him on the trip.
For someone that wants to be Commander-In-Chief to blow off the only chance before the election to visit with these troops as they recover speaks volumes about the "One"'s priorities.
Unless this guy picks Hillary as a running mate he is going to just continue to alienate the heartland of this country and his slide in the polls.
