The blogs are abuzz over Jesse Jackson's remarks about Obama. Don't look for your average middle class, white pundit to get how this hurts Obama in a big way.
"My support for Senator Obama's campaign is wide, deep and unequivocal," he said in his statement. "I cherish this redemptive and historical moment."
Obama had no comment.
Your average white voter doesn't much care about Jackson any longer. His days of significant influence, besides lining his pockets by black mailing corporations, are over. Where Jackson still matters is within the black community.
And within that community, Jackson talked some serious smack against Obama and all Obama had to say was "No comment."
What a wus.
Yes, the standard apology was issued. But, so what? In a candid moment, Jackson revealed that he has little, or no respect for the new man from hope, via Chicago. And right now he has to look like a weak poseur as far as many blacks are concerned.
Between this insult and his throwing over his Pastor and his "be a better Father" rhetoric to the black community, at this rate it won't be long before those doubts about his "black" bona fides creep back into the limelight.
He's on the verge of being seen as a sell-out by the very voting block he depended on to win the primary. I wonder how they will turn out in November as Barry O continues to marginalize them as a block by increasingly currying favor across the white establishment?
Finally, the man can't stand up to Jesse Jackson and he'd have us believe he's up to confronting the most despotic of world leaders by simply talking with them? Yeah, right. Maybe he should have sent his wife out to take on Jackson. Come to think of it, she may have actually achieved what Jackson threatened over their years of married life!
Too bad she didn't clip those big floppy ears of his he's so self-conscious about, instead. ; )

Ol' Rev. "Hymietown" really knows how to wow folks yet, even after his long slide into irrelevance.

Sounds like Jesee is ready to take a little ride under the Barry Express Bus Lines. Carefull it's already pretty crowded under there!
The far left sites are calling for his ass and now Jesse wants his balls. Doesn't leave much for the wife!
I love the part where Jesee looks at the guy sitting next to him and gives a little extra facial expression and mimics slicing his nuts off. Priceless!!!!

Another brilliant observation. Clearly the blacks are now going to vote for the tortured little old man who voted against the MLK holiday.

"--- Clearly the blacks are now going to vote for the tortured little old man who voted against the MLK holiday. ---"
Some authorities would like us to believe that skin colour doesn't factor at all in our decision making process, but regrettably, skin colour goes far more deeply that most people would care to publicly admit.
I'd say that a blue moon might find a half dozen out of the 35 million potential black voters who might swing McCain's way, and that would be a very, very loose estimate.
Seriously, Obama could hold hands with Kleagle Byrd and sing show tunes, and the overwhelming majority of blacks would support him.
Therefore, Obie has little to worry about the blacks, and should be focusing on the Latinos, the NASCAR aficionados, farmers, and those grumpy old white people who like clinging to their Bibles and their guns... because without their votes, Obama is less than a sure thing.
It is probably the same unspoken figuring that will go into several dozen million potential older white voters in McCain's camp.

"Clearly the blacks are going to vote for the old man...who voted against the MLK holiday."
Why not? They vote for a former Kleagle in the KKK who resides in the United States Senate under the banner of the Democratic Party. They don't seem to hold his past against him.

"Another brilliant observation"
And another moronic convergence of liberal stupidity and Bob. Blacks don't have to vote for McCain. They can do what a good many of them already usually do, stay home. Duh!

Obama will get the black vote regardless of what Jackson says or does. But Obama needs Hillary's voters who are leary of him and who can't stand people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. The evidence that Jackson can't stand Obama will help Obama immensely with those voters. By not engaging Jackson he shows that Jackson is beneath him -- just what Obama wants.

First off, Obama's telling black males to be more responsible fathers was talking down to be sure, however it was not done for the benefit of black people. It was done for the benefit of whites. Lest we fear he would give blacks a pass on being absent fathers and other behaviors not approved of. Second, Jesse is just saying what a lot of other people would be saying if they were not walking around all zombified by the Obama 'mistique' helped along by the press. If one takes an objective and cool eyed look at Senator Obama one cannot help but see a nerdy guy with all the chrisma of a successful life insurance salesman who does not know the first thing about history, economics, or the constitution (nor does he care). One also cannot help but see he is married to a first class shrew who by now surely has made mince meat of any nads he ever did have. This a presidential couple?
