Obama is taking heat from everyone for saying the Senate Banking Committee is "his" committee - apparently not quite true.
Then I remembered the news of his so often voting "present" back in Illinois and it all started to make sense. The media-anointed one was simply trying to inform us of his omnipresence with all those "present" votes. And it's only natural that he would assume the Banking committee, along with every other committee, was his ... having been present at any and all hearings they've ever had. They don't call him the messiah for nothing, after all ... now, do they?
The Ever-'Present' Obama
While some conservatives and Republicans surely will harp on what they call his "liberal record," highlighting applicable votes to support their case, it's Obama's history of voting "present" in Springfield - even on some of the most controversial and politically explosive issues of the day - that raises questions that he will need to answer.

You're quite right Dan. I retract(and apologize for) all my previous negative comments (and thoughts) about the messiah.

I liked Edwards giving the "One" a good thrashing on his voting present in this debate.

Who better to call out a liberal but another liberal? Kind of like lions feeding on their own.
Man did he get his ass handed to him in the Democratic debates or what. But being Democrats they still picked the lamest candidate. Thank god because Hillary would have a double digit lead right about now against McCain.
Thanks for the Bozzo look alike trolls I bet he hears real good through those Dumbo ears!

ALL YOUR COMMITTEES ARE BELONG TO US!
http://rotstar.blogspot.com/2008/07/all-your-committees-are-belong-to-us.html
It's clear it is his, as is the White House and your income too!
Anyone else think this is getting somewhat pathologic?

Any word on what that broken old man is up to? I think he was shuffling through a supermarket yesterday. Will he play bingo today?

I got this second hand so keep a grain of salt handy. It seems Obama complained just recently to somebody that, since the troops he saw in Iraq and Afghanistan seem to watch Fox News exclusively, Bush or the Defense Dept must be controlling what they watch. Now Fox News is receiving lots of email from the troops saying the have a wide choice of media but prefer Fox News for more objective coverage. So far I haven't seen this story on the net.

Both McPain and the Messiah seem to both be big time no-show mail it in kinda guys when it comes to votes as senators. I imagine we can expect this trend to continue no matter who gets elected. This will be a do-nothing presidency.

This internet tradition, of which I am sure all of you are aware, most aptly describes the wingnut-o-sphere's reaction to Obama's trip:

Lols. More grasping at straws.
Obama said he was on a Senate committee! Zounds! Egad! Stop the presses!
Remind me again how many votes McCain has cast in the last six months? Oh, wait, no. We're back to not talking about McCain again. :-p
I'm still impressed Dan hasn't released a screed on the whole John Edwards wild sex romp story in the Enquirer. Seriously, gossip like that is much more Dan's speed.

How's McSame doing on HIS committees right now? Oh right, not voting at all. He's wayyyyy to busy dealing with the hoards of press following him to the latest bingo parlor...

I doubt, though, that McCain is any contender for the "I Vote Present" Championship. The all-time winner is BeeOhh.

Is Obie a super-pacifist or is he just a run-of-the-mill appeaser? From Power Line:
"During the run-up to the primaries, Senator Obama did not appear in the Senate to vote on the Kyl-Lieberman Amendment calling on the government to designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist entity and thus suffer the imposition of sanctions. On the day of the vote on the amendment, however, Obama issued a statement announcing that he would have voted against it. In the statement, the closest he came to addressing the merits of the amendment was his assertion that "he does not think that now is the time for saber-rattling towards Iran." The amendment passed the Senate 76-22 on September 26, 2007, with many Democrats including Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid, Richard Durbin, and Chuck Schumer voting in its favor."

Candidate Obama: The weatherman, the weathervane, a-tilting and a-whirling whithersoever the wind bloweth.
President Obama: (on the phone to his keepers) "Sure, whatever you like. Just so long as I get my 2012 campaign check from you by Friday."
On 20 Jan. 2009, it will be business as usual, Chicago style... in Washington, D.C.

this will come as a shock to many of you here, but one can actually look these things up on the internets. http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/ This Congress, McCain has missed 394 votes or 63% of all votes held. Obama has missed 277 or 44.3%. McCain last voted in the Senate in April of this year, Obama voted on a measure on June 9, 2008. Neither voted "present" in this Congress because that's not an option. Obama said it was his committee when it fact it wasn't. It was however, his bill that was voted on by the committee. Of course speculating on facts of which you have no grasp is nothing new to the barking idiots that hang out here, e.g. http://www.riehlworldview.com/carnivorous_conservative/2008/05/a-new-problem-f.html Not that being completely wrong http://www.huffingtonpost.com/huff-wires/20080723/obama-s-wwii-uncle/ will stop you from trying it again and again.

Obama has only worked 143 days since he was elected in 2004 so comparing his number of votes to anyone is really rather stupid.

I belong to a not for profit organization (100% Volunteer Fire Department) where every change or purchase requires a membership vote. Voting 'here' is simply a way to avoid making a decision. Just what we need in the office of POTUS, someone scared to make a decision on hundreds of things because someone might not like him. Someone not connected with the U.S. government has Hussein O on a string, and as you see daily he responds to every pull of the string. A decision maker he is not.
"The only thing standing between you and lower fuel prices is a democrat" (Soon to result in massive heating bills).
Nan and Harry, a volunteer firing squad awaits.
Posted by: Scrapiron | Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 01:14 PM
syn, Since Hussein took office in the Senate, with his assistance to Nan and Harry a booming economy has been destroyed, hundreds of thousands of people have lost their homes, Gas prices have doubled killing the airline and auto industry and raising the price of food to the point it's hard for a lot of Americans to feed they're families. For the first time in history even the welfare riders and homeless are actually going hungry (prior to Nan, Harry and Hussein it was all hype, they were the fattest of the fat). BDS has been declared a true mental illness. Is is good having the insane in charge of congress and the white house?
Right now Hussein O is (on TV) speaking in Berlin so I changed channels to a program with more intel, the Beverly Hillbillies. Just listening to him 'Parriot' (bird on a string) someone else's words makes me have violent thoughts.

"Obama said it was his committee when in fact it wasn't" ".....of course, speculating on facts of which you have no grasp..."
Uh, you perhaps had better address that particular statement toward your candidate, mako. He's either a liar, or is guilty of speculating on facts of which he has no grasp. Actually, is his case, it's both. He's an obvious liar, and he's clueless when it comes to foreign policy and the military. Two very good reasons not to elect this guy to any office. He just doesn't have the experience.

Reichtard stupidity will only display itself more insanely and more rabidly the closer we get to November. The elitists know that their cash-cow is about to be severed, and the knuckle-draggers know what their elitist masters tell them. The closer we get to the election, and in their desperation, wingers will begin saying what they really think. I predict that by November, sites like this one will simply devolve into calling Barack Obama the n-word.

"He's an obvious liar, and he's clueless when it comes to foreign policy and the military."
Really? Obama doesn't know the difference between Shia and Sunni? He continually lies about the Surge and its connection to the Suni Awakining? He believes that Iran is training Al Queda? He belives that the struggle going at the Iraq / Pakistan border is very pressing? He's declared over and over how easy the war in Iraq would be? He's flip-flopped on increasing troops in Afgahnistan? He's criticized an oponent for saying he would go after targets in Pakistan, and then endorsed the idea later? He's accused an opponent of appeasment of Hamas, even though he, himself said we should sit down and talk to Hamas? He was against tax cuts before he was for them? He was for campaign finance reform before he was against it? He voted against an extension of the GI Bill and then lied about his support FOR it? Obama jokes about rape? Really, Obama did all that?

"-- Reichtard stupidity will only display itself more insanely and more rabidly the closer we get to November. --"
And how. Not that this will particularly save them in the polls. Screaming at crowds and calling the voter base "too stupid to vote for my guy" has never been a winning strategy in US Elections. Panicking and crying over the looming Apocalypse also usually falls on its face.
But I hope that doesn't keep the wingnuts from trying.
