The fact is that I purchased my house in 1986 for $72,500. It is in one of the most sought after areas of Sacramento and about 3 blocks from Ronald Reagans old house. It's current market value is around $600,000 . Even with adding on and doing a couple re-fi's (to get the interest rate down) over the years I have a 5.25% loan and over $450,000 in equity.

Almost half a million dollars in equity! You know it's a curse dude but I live with it!
