The New Zoo Review
No, not the New Zoo Review of late 60's, early 70's childhood fame that, arguably, had a hot babe in a mini skirt, a frog and some goof in glasses, as I recall - but the zoo-like quality of growing portions of our human world today. After reviewing some top headlines, all I'm left thinking is Are we not men and women, or are more and more of us simply animals everyday?
Admittedly, this is a hodgepodge of links. But they all have a common theme for me this morning - the degradation of society.
Three purebred animals - looking like products of our liberalized prison system and the Black Muslim Brotherhood, gun down a cop in Phila. I assume they are black muslims, given the beards and choice of disguise. What a tribute to their new found religion. Fortunately, one or two of the vermin was also gunned down in the street by the Phila police. Let's just call those justified shootings, same for the one not found yet, hopefully - and move on, shall we? I think rehabilitation is a bit much to ask.
Yes, it's all because America wasn't kind enough to the scumbags, I know. But, in for a penny in for a pound, I say - so let's finish the job and kill the last piece of sub-human detritus and make a holiday of it, for all I care.
Then there is this bit from Europe. A case that's been in the news. The weirdo in Austria who kept his daughter in the basement for so many years, etc. Apparently the house is becoming something of a tourist attraction. Must we really continue to call the animals who find such a thing tourist worthy "human?" Perhaps it's time for a sub-classification of the species? Any suggestions in comments will be entertained.
And last, we come to another sub-class, of a sub-class of human. I forget my biology, but surely there's a genus and a species, or whatever they are called. From the class of politicians we have a special subclass - black politicians. The Examiner takes a look at John Conyers today. Who Owns John Conyers.
This isn't intended to be racist, white or black - makes no difference to what is happening to people, and politicians today. I could highlight Mark Foley for example. But because of Conyers I started thinking of Maxine Waters, Cynthia McKinney and a few others. Perhaps it's time we admitted there is a crisis in black political leadership these days. I can't believe the idiots mentioned above represent the average hard working, achieving black individual in America today.
The idiot black pols acquire power from being re-elected in the worst districts in America, districts representing all the spoiled fruit of the new-liberalism going back to Johnson. And I can't believe the average successful and truly progressive black individual in America isn't feeling misrepresented by the established black political class. What a shame.
And, yes, I would ascribe most all of what is linked above to the decline of society brought about by post-sixties liberalism. What a miserably failed, self-indulgent and over-hyped decade that one is.
And to think - much if it began with a wholesome looking, somewhat busty babe in a mini-skirt. Who would have guessed?

Part of the destruction of the Black family (as engineered in no small part through the agency of "Planned Parenthood" and perverse, racialist social programs of the likes LBJ disastrously imposed upon Black Americans) has reduced the black man to being a felon or a thug, or an irresponsible, shirking buffoon, or in rarer cases, a militant unable to expound his case without becoming mired in race-baiting identity politics. This while elevating the single mothers and the multi-generational welfare queens to a protected and almost enviable status.
With Black male leadership residing in the likes of the thuggish scumbags like Akon and Snoop-Dog, or in opportunist race baiters like Farrakhan or Sharpton, black females have risen to fill that void, and like any woman given unrestrained power, they quickly become noisome and boisterous, and nearly uncontrollable when moved to fits of pique.
But however rare they may be, quite admirable is the black man who overcomes these barriers and leads his family industriously and with Godly wisdom, who proves to all that his skin colour is by no means the cause or the denier of his success.

John Conyers...he has his personal problems....that would be MRS. Conyers

the woman is a loose cannon...UNcontrollable.
You'd think this would make national news, wouldn't you?

"Ditto the 100 year remark...you continue to claim that he means ongoing war when he clearly stated that he meant a peacekeeping presence like Japan and Germany."
So what do you call what's happening in Iraq now?
A war? An occupation?
Q: President Bush has talked about our staying in Iraq for 50 years — (cut off by McCain)
McCAIN: Make it a hundred.
It is your choice what to call it but McCain thinks another 100 years is fine.
And I wonder how we're gonna pay for that? More tax cuts?

Closer to a fillibuster-proof Congress is NOT one, right? The independent in 2004 voted with the Democrats, so 55-45 is not fillibuster proof. You can't have it both ways, my friend.

"--- Living poor, voting rich. The GOP's base motto. ---"
And the Democrats too, for that matter:
http://www.heritage.org/Press/Commentary/ed110607a.cfm
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/04/01/the-democratic-dissonance-on-rich-and-poor/
Of course, this all depends upon who is "rich" and who is holding the measuring stick for who is and isn't rich.
In my estimation, Hedge Fund Manageress Chelsea Clinton is likely "very rich", as are her momma and pappa Hills and Bill with their $120M USD fortune.
Comfortably rich are folks pulling down more than $200k annually, if debt burdened, and more than $120k if debt free.
People making $50,000 to $85,000 (gross) are middle class, with the lower end of that bracket possibly struggling to get by in hyperinflated NYC if they are a single income family.
And under $50,000 could be middle class for the more economically depressed regions in the USA, or could be subsistence/poverty level incomes on the coasts.
Yet, for the bulk of people making under $100k/year, to vote Democratic would be just as much about voting for the rich as would be voting GOP.
"--- Health care decisions made by the insurers whose fiduciary duty is to their shareholders. ---"
The same goes for politicians too: their electoral duty is heavily weighted toward those who donated (or bundled) the most money and/or favours to their campaign.
This is the critical flaw in our political system, and is a good case for working for a Constitutional amendment for a two-term maximum for all federal level politicians. We have enough to do with life-time civil servants, and they are called federal judges/SCOTUS justices.

jharp, a constant viewer of the Communist News Network (CNN), they provide all the talking point he/she/shim has ever used. The lie about McCain the the 100 years in Iraq has been debunked so many times pre-kindergardeners know about it. Too bad 'some' democrats aren't as smart as pre-kindergarden students.
The 10% of blacks that are hard working, take care of their family folks have to vote for a republican since the democrats have no one to represent the working people of any race. The black politicians of today are elected by the lifelong welfare class, (since 1865 when the democrats lost ownership of they're slaves, but kept them in slavery to the welfare system), and that's all they represent.
Hussein O says the gas tax holiday is a shell game and he's an expert at shell games. Made millions running shell games on the poor blacks and playing the welfare system, that is until he became a member of the Chicago mafia. Hussein says it won't amount to any savings out of one side of his mouth and out of the other says it will cost the 'government' billions. If the government loses is and the people don't get it then he's figured out a way to put a few more billions in his off shore account.

jharp, you've proven my point. You said in your earlier post that a vote for McCain meant "no healthcare reform". He clearly has a plan. You might disagree with it, but it is a lie to deny that he has one. Ditto the 100 year remark...you continue to claim that he means ongoing war when he clearly stated that he meant a peacekeeping presence like Japan and Germany. His record on tax cuts also contradicts your claim that he supports tax cuts for the rich.
You are either stupid or dishonest...probably both. Regardless, you add nothing to the debate.

Even CBS news says the "100 years" comment has been totally distorted by the lying, pandering dems.
What part of "staying in Iraq for 100 years" is so hard for you to understand?
Here is a summary of MCains record on tax cuts:
So just keep the deficits rolling. Not our problem. Just pay the interest and pass it to our kids.
Here is an analysis of his healthcare reform plan:
More of the same old shit. Health care decisions made by the insurers whose fiduciary duty is to their shareholders.
I hate to break it to you ET. But you are voting against your own best interest. The reason I know? No one could be as dimwitted as you and be in the top 1% economically.
Living poor, voting rich. The GOP's base motto.

templar.
Let's see.
2004 U.S Senate. 55 Republicans 44 Democrats 1 Independent
2007 U.S Senate 49 Republicans 49 Democrats 2 Independents
Having a filibuster proof majority is meaningful.
So is being closer to having a filibuster proof majority.

jharp, it is obvious that you are incapable of real intellectual inquiry into the issues. Your simple mind can only grasp the most superficial talking points, which you then repeat endlessly. Only fools like yourself believe that either of your lying, inept dem candidates would offer real, positive change. Take a closer look, man. McCain is the best option this election, and he will win.
Posted by: ET | Monday, May 05, 2008 at 01:48 PM
You are wrong.
Hope for an end to the $12 billion per month Iraq goodwill mission, hope for health care reform, and hope for an end to the record deficits to be specific.

Harpo say: "Democrats at least bring a little hope."
Hope, Harpo? Hope for what, a government handout to you of someone else's money? Correct me if I'm wrong.

"Are you joking or are you too friggin stupid to understand how our Legislature works?"
Uh, jharp, you apparently didn't know, either, because you claimed the Republicans to be in control when they did not hold filibuster proof majorities in the Senate, either. You can't have it both ways, my friend.

What America needs is more elderly Long Island housewives who are afraid of 'colored folks' and libruls.

Yes, change and hope. Obama is promising the Teamsters Union (per the WSJ) to get rid of the govt oversight of their activities. Just what we need.

MaggieW,
Yeah that 50-49-1 Senate Majority is pretty overwhelming.
Are you joking or are you too friggin stupid to understand how our Legislature works?
Don't fret though, it's all about to change.

Hey SacTownMan,
I hear Sacramento is really thriving due the Bush tax cuts. Any truth to that?
Posted by: jharp | Monday, May 05, 2008 at 12:55 PM
Hope and change, didn't Stalin use that slogan?
The democrats have been in control of the House and the Senate for
well over a year now. Where is the hope and change they promised?
Posted by: MaggieW | Monday, May 05, 2008 at 12:52 PM
"Democrats at least bring a little hope". And don't forget that Barry also brings change. Lets see change + hope = "chope", or is it hope + change = "hange". Okay I think I got it now it's all about chope and hange right? Man these Democrats make it so confusing.
Posted by: SacTownMan | Monday, May 05, 2008 at 12:37 PM
"Dude did you really write that????????"
Yeah, I did, Willie.
I'm all for solutions and getting the job done. However until we are rid of the worst administration in the history of the U.S. I fear all we can do is hope.
And I think the group promoting McSame could cause a real problem for Americas future. 100 year occupation of Iraq, tax cuts for the wealthiest, no health care reform. Until the dems take over all we have is hope.
Really can't figure out why anyone would support McSame. Unless, of course, you're in the top 1% richest Americans.

"both parties are about entirely worthless"
I don't think so. Monumentally destructive is a good term for the GOP. So they are worse than worthless.
Democrats at least bring a little hope.
