Obama's Memory Falters On Rezko Cash

Following up on an Instapundit link to Ace here: The Rezko-Obama Payoff: The Property - I came across some other troubling quotes from Obama on Rezko.

From the Sun Times, Nov, 2006:

Q: How many fundraisers has Mr. Rezko hosted for you? Were these all in his home? How much would you estimate he has raised for your campaigns?

A: He hosted one event at his home in 2003 for my U.S. Senate campaign. He participated as a member of a host committee for several other events. My best estimate was that he raised somewhere between $50,000 and $60,000.

But it turns out that number isn't even close, and it's now being reported as upwards of 200k, see LA Times link below, and some of that was given illegally - and much of it after Rezko was in trouble. As regards Obama, what the hell kind of judgment was that? It's much worse than boneheaded, as he described it in one article. It's classically corrupt.

Obama had known Rezko long before the house deal, calling him a "friend."

An ABC News review of campaign records shows Rezko, and people connected to him, contributed more than $120,000 to Obama's 2004 campaign for the U.S. Senate, much of it at a time when Rezko was the target of an FBI investigation.

"It surprised me that late in the game he [Obama] continued to take contributions from somebody who was under a rather dark cloud in the state," said Cynthia Canary of the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform, a group that has worked closely with Obama and supported his legislative efforts.

A recent LA Times piece:

Between the first $2,000 state Senate donation and the 2004 U.S. Senate race, Rezko raised at least $200,000 for him, a Times analysis shows. Obama, seeking to distance himself from his patron, has donated $160,000 in Rezko-related contributions to charity.

The media is just now starting to to stir the honey pot that is Rezko. The real stench has hasn't even reached the surface yet. Obama wasn't smart enough to play the Hillary game of, I don't recall, or I don't remember my heads in a blender, it's jello. No he admitted he made a "boneheaded mistake". The Clintons would never admit to anything in illegal campaign contribution, they have others to take the fall for them.

The spider web around Rezko continues to grow. With each thread going in a different direction, it leads to the 18th richest man in Great Britain, Auchi, who was Saddam's bagman on the Oil For Food scandal,on one thread, then, on another thread, to Aiham Alsammarae, convicted in absenteeism in Iraq for theft of reconstruction funds after his escape from an Iraqi jail aided by "security" personnel, and who just happened to show up in Chicago and was invoved in a $1.5 million bribe from Rezko to gain a security contract training Iraqis to guard the energy infrastructure, to a thread where $1.4 million was put in the Illinois governor's campaign coffers, to another thread where Rezko was involved in the under-market purchase of Obama's Georgian mansion while Rezko's wife paid full price for a land-locked lot next to it, closing on the same day. The player list continues but it is all the same spider web. Part of the whole.

And the spider web is the corrupt policial machine of Chicago. And we are to believe that Obama was above the fray and the corruption in his meteoric rise from community "organizer" to candidate for POTUS?

When is the MSM going to do it's job and start linking all the players? Or are they so in the tank for Obama that they will continue to ignore it?

-Obama got his money from Tony Rezko who got his 3.5 million from Nadhmi Auchi:

-Rezko described his friendship with Auchi as "close"

-Nadhmi Auchi is an Iraqi-born billionaire who was charged along with Saddam Hussein for conspiring to assassinate Prime minister (president) Abdul Karim Qasim and stood trial in 1959. (Auchi gave fellow Baath Party members machine guns from his home for Saddam Hussein.)

-Auchi protected secret money for Saddam Hussein AND Muammar al-Gaddafi.

(Remember, Obama's Trinity church Pastor Wright went with Nation of Islam minister Louis Farrakhan in 1993 to visit Libyan socialist leader Gaddafi.)

-Auchi also financially backed Saddam Hussein's plan for a pipeline from Iraq to Saudi Arabia.

-Rezko was also a business partner with Nation of Islam Founder's son: Jabir Herbert Muhammad.

Why isn't the media talking about all of Barack Obama's scary friends who have ties to the worst people in history?

Portions of NAMLEF agreement is right on the internet. There is also an under the table pact that is worse.
