More Background On Obama And Wright

The passages at bottom are from a linked article on Republican racism and America's white supremacy by Jeremiah Wright.

It's at least worth noting that, according to a mostly friendly religious observer, Obama didn't simply choose Jeremiah Wright and his church, he was apparently something of an "unbeliever" before being converted into the church. Also, while Wright's energetic sermons are gaining the most attention, he did offer a more calm explanation of his views on America's alleged complete white supremacist bent in Trumpet - a publication of his church edited at the time by his daughter, Jerry Wright. I believe it was Trumpet that announced Farrakhan's award from Wright.

See the article in this small pdf. It's very difficult to understand exactly what type of "hope" Obama saw in Wright's rhetoric to inspire his dedicating a book to the man.

The term “white supremacy,” however, is much more accurate. White supremacy undergirds the thought, the ideology, the theology, the sociology, the legal structure, the educational system, the healthcare system, and the entire reality of the United States of America and South Africa!

White supremacy controls the economic system in America, the healthcare system in America and the educational system in America. Hurricane Katrina has pulled the blinders off of all Americans and shown us what white supremacy means at its ugly core and what it has done to the fabric of these “still-yet-to-be-United States” (to use Maya Angelou’s term). That is what I see when looking back during the month of May.

Educating our children to the reality of white supremacy becomes crucial for African Americans and for all Americans. Educating our children is a term that I use pointedly. I do not mean “training” our children. That is apart of our problem now.

We need to educate our children about the white supremacist’s foundations of the educational system, the educational philosophy and the very curricula that immerses them in a culture of white supremacy from kindergarten through graduate school! We need to educate our children how to navigate the dangerous waters that lie ahead of them in this 21st century.

In navigating the waters, our children need to be aware of the shark-infested waters and the other predators that live in those waters.

Hurricane Katrina gave us some important images that are analogous to the future that our children have to learn how to navigate. When the levees in Louisiana broke alligators, crocodiles and piranha swam freely through what used to be the streets of New Orleans. That is an analogy that we need to drum into the heads of our African American children (and indeed, all children!).

In the flood waters of white supremacy that our children have to negotiate economically, educationally, culturally, socially and spiritually, there are not only sharks in those waters, there are also crocodiles, alligators and piranha!

Also see about 2/3 down in this Dobbs transcript from February if interested in more background on the church.

Here's yet another take on the big story of the Obama's pastor we covered in a previous post - that the man who converted Obama, and married him, is an anti-American racist who preaches hatred of whites and America - and preaches "God damned America." ... [Read More]

Well, black people have kinda been getting screwed ever since the Levittowns refused to sell them homes.

"In the flood waters of white supremacy that our children have to negotiate economically, educationally, culturally, socially and spiritually"

However Mayor Nagin and his constituents like their 'chocolate city' just the way it is so why is Rev. Wright blaming whitey for the levees breaking in New Orleans?

What's the saying? Elections matter.

Hussein Obama and Wright took away every blacks right to complain about the KKK. Obama's church (today) is much worse than the Klan has been in the past hundred years.

One extreme hate group does offset another extreme hate group doesn't it? If you is one you have no right to call someone else one.

Can we call Obama a racist now? Or is that racist?

Reading Wright's screed I'm reminded of Exodus and what he evidently fails to understand about it.

One other thing, my take on his raceist screed is that it is up to white America to take care of black America. If our failure to do so is what feeds his belief in whites thinking we are superior then he will forever be disappointed. (Although he obviously benefits from his congregation believing that). The American idea is that each individual is responsible for their own well being not society. That's not white supremecy that's responsibility and free will. If everybody is in the wagon who is going to pull it?

You could certainly call Obama a racist but just don't try to start talking about John Hagee and John Mccain and for God sakes lets not overreact to Rod Parsley, for that would just be silly wouldn't it? God forbid if anyone dared trot out Billy Graham for we should know better than to question his stance(s) by now, shouldn't we? After all, he's as American as Apple pie. Only a (racist) fool would look inside that pie. That kind of thing is reserved for newcomers. You know, the types we're not used to seeing in this thing, like, say a Barack Obama. Now there's a guy that has to be totally scrutinized, and that includes his retired former pastor and all...by any means necessary. Yep, that's the American spirit. Turn every inch of that old Obama guy inside out and make sure he does not have a racist bone in his body nor have ever "looked" at someone who could possible be called racist. Yep, that's the way it's gotta be done.

"don't try to start talking about John Hagee and John Mccain and for God sakes lets not overreact to Rod Parsley"

Are you really THAT fucking stupid?

Let's see, has John McCain dedicated books to either of them (and he HAS written plenty, you know)? Has he attended their churches for 20 years? Has he called either of him his spiritual advisor? Have either of them baptised his children or conducted his marriage ceremony?

Uh, NO. But I guess that doesn't matter to a brain-dead OT Level XIII Obamologist, does it?

Go find some place with other idiots to buy your parroted talking points. Like, you know, your usual libtard hangouts. And by the way, THIS is not a McCain supporter's blog (much to my chagrin).

Fuck, I can't stand stupid people. Pardon my Shakespearean, but lib stupidity really irritates me.

whiteandblackmixed,

Wright is against "training our children." Does this mean New Orleans did better for not having a large body of trained black engineers to advise the city on the levees? Shouldn't Wright be encouraging blacks to get all the training they can so that they can offer informed opinions to underpin policy recommendations? Why is he not encouraging the children to follow their talents instead of loading them with a guilt trip? This is the same old "learning to read is acting white" game. He is crippling the young for the sake of his ego.

"Are you really THAT fucking stupid?"

Yes, I surely am, by your standards and all the other nasties you can hurl. I accept however and I still stand by my comments. I do not, in any way, expect someone like you to get it. Nice try.

"When the levees in Louisiana broke alligators, crocodiles and piranha swam freely through what used to be the streets of New Orleans."
Piranha???
Crocodiles???
I thought all the lib politicians and their handlers slithered out of town before the first rain.
;-)
