McCain Does It, Again

ABC via Drudge has picked up the McCain gaffe clip in which he calls himself a conservative, liberal Republican. But this one plays a bit longer than the previous version. In it, he also calls for the outlawing of all 527's. Putting aside the fact that his previous efforts helped bring them about, just how far away from the First Amendment does McCain have to get before he figures it out. To hear him talk, he wants only politicians to be able to enjoy unrestricted political free speech. Perhaps he should elaborate on which other portions of the Bill of Rights he opposes before he's nominated at the GOP convention.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

What a quaint old man! Perhaps he's better suited to be a Walmart greeter. He could get in touch with the GOP base that way.
