Oh, this is rich ... literally. The California Gov ushered in a new era of environmental protection with this in 2006.
SAN FRANCISCO -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Wednesday signed into law a sweeping global warming initiative that imposes the nation's first cap on greenhouse gas emissions, saying the effort kicks off "a bold new era of environmental protection."
Standing on picturesque Treasure Island with San Francisco's skyline in the background, Schwarzenegger called the fight against global warming one of the most important issues of modern times.
But that doesn't prevent him from flying a ten thousand dollar an hour private jet to work each day, so he can spend more time with his family. And even if you believe in the type of Carbon Credit scam he uses to assuage his guilt and prop up his Green image, that would do nothing for California's most immediate struggle with smog. I'm not sure what's more unbelievable - the BS involved, or the notion that these elitists actually believe it themselves.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who once joked that Sacramento was "death," apparently doesn't want to spend many nights in the graveyard.
As the Los Angeles Times reported last week, the governor has been spending nearly every night in his Brentwood mansion, shuttling between Sacramento and Southern California in his private jet.
The governor uses his own money to pay for his Gulfstream flights, which price out at about $10,000 an hour, the Times reports.
And what about the cost to the environment? The governor's staff says he purchases "carbon credits." Such credits are aimed at offsetting the greenhouse gases generated by his flights but do nothing about the particulates and smog-forming compounds they spew into the air.
Obviously, this green-leaning governor (pictured last year on the cover of Newsweek with a globe on his finger) is sensitive about the apparent hypocrisy of his daily jet-setting.
Yet he said in an interview that he needs to spend more time with his family, and thus is spending fewer nights at a penthouse at the Hyatt.
"I just don't have a home in Sacramento," Schwarzenegger said to the Times.

"...doesn't have a home in Sacramento."?? You've got to be kidding. Sacramento is ground zero in the housing meltdown. He could buy a mansion there for the cost of a few re-fuels on the gulfstream. Literally.

Those 'carbon credits' Schwarzenegger purchased were probably through Bobby Kennedy's compound who then uses the profits to build more mansions by the sea for their children to live.
There's an Al Gore sucker born every minute.

Just out of curiousity, isn't there a governor's mansion?

Evidently not - the story suggests he buy one in Sacremento and donate it after his term instead of spending the money on the plane.
