Instapundit links to this from Geraldine Ferraro via Talk Left:
"If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position," she continued. "And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept."
Off the top of your head, would Hillary still be in this thing if she weren't a woman? Would crying in New Hampshire have helped, assuming it did? Would she be excused for running such an ineffective campaign for months? Wouldn't the calls to sit down, or drop out be much louder were she a man?
My guess is it's only her gender that has kept her in this long. And it may even allow her to win the nomination. These are fair questions. By definition, all identity politics is relative, after all.

This is so much fun.
Geraldine, did hubby John Zaccaro ever release his income tax returns?

OK, so she is sexist, racist and a Lib.
Nothing new here. I do admire her honesty though.

But did she ever question what her own qualifications were for Vice-President?

One piece of trash.

""If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position"
Wow, I bet Billy O' is glad he didn't make such a racist comment. It doesn't surprise me and I still expect the DNC to stop this landslide. The fact is this, Obie is running a better campaign and has an answer for anything his own side lauches at him. He isn't fluffing up his "experience" or throwing (much) mud. People like him because he's likeable...period

If Hillary wins it will ONLY be because of her gender.
Fact is only Obama can derail her. And he is doing that.
But Hill and Bill are not through yet. They may yet steal the nomination with the super delegates.

It might be worth noting that if John McCain wasn't an old, white millionaire man-child of privilege he wouldn't be where he is today, either. Thank god McCain didn't try running on the Democratic Ticket. With all the sexism and racism, he wouldn't have stood a chance.

"if John McCain wasn't an old, white millionaire man-child of privilege he wouldn't be where he is today, either."
Well being nearly killed on the Forrestal, being shot down, broken and beaten for years may have had a wee bit to do with where he is....but then you'd have to have a minimum of respect for that sacrifice to see it.

That didn't seem much of a concern in 2000. But thanks for trying.

I didn't like his politics then either but unlike you, it does not keep me from respecting what he went through.

Hillary is a woman?

"Hillary is a woman?"
LOL. Aside from still being in the race because she is (alledgidly) a woman, she also would never have been in the first place if she weren't married to a former President.
