In hindsight, it should have been obvious to the careful observer - there were not many Romney sweats, shirts or buttons in the lobby of the Omni Shoram as one made their way through. There were some McCain supporters scattered about, but in what looks like room given for Romney to "stand aside," the full number of McCain-clothed supporters didn't start to really appear before Romney was through.
After an intro by Laura Ingraham, Romney addressed the crowd, pointing out the need for Conservative ideals to lead America. Then focusing on the war, he used it as his rationale for stepping aside. He was greeted by scattered shouts of: Noooo! And then the air simply went out of the room.
It'll be interesting to see what McCain has to say to the group, now. There isn't the threat of Romney over his head. How long before the Republican establishment puts pressure on Huckabee to bow out?
The mood around CPAC is not good. Stay tuned.

When did I use an ethnic slur?
And as for Wal-Mart, I don't shop there as there isn't one convenient to where I live. I'm more a target guy.

Target...Wal-Mart...what's the difference? I shop at Target, too, but it is not as convenient as Wal-Mart, and would require me to drive an extra 10 miles. See, I like to save money by not driving excessively. That makes me an environmental steward by not wasting precious resources, or contributing to pollution more than I have to. I'm a hero. Yay.
chris, shut up, I wouldn't let your gay kids watch television at my house. And you and your gay partner are not allowed to adopt in the state I live in anyway, so your kids wouldn't be your kids. So there.

Spart, however, does have a finely tuned sense of humor. Witness:
"When did I use an ethnic slur?

"Ah, now that's interesting. You mean to tell me now that you think Huck and Ron Paul are *not* wingnuts? Even some of us "wingers" tend to think Ron Paul is a little bit on the fringe, and Huck is further to the right of many of us on religion, but left on other items."
Huckabee and Ron Paul have some out of the mainstream ideas, but they are not wingnuts. They do not exude the same hatred for Americans that is so common amongst wingnuts such as Malkin, Coulter, Limbaugh, OReilly, etc.

Romney lasted a day longer than I thought he would. I'll give him credit for that.
