Our Beloved Ann Coulter
James Joyner of Outside The Beltway, blogging the event, as well, and I ambled over to check out Ann Coulter in a non-CPAC related event hosted by the Young America's group. Our blogger/media passes got us into the standing room only event. Let's see, did she say anything interesing, in that Coulteresque way?
Well, equating McCain to Hitler caught my attention, though she admitted Hitler had a better tax policy. Actually it came about as the result of a bit regarding her supporting Hillary over McCain. She pointed out that Churchill did align with Stalin to defeat Hitler. And for those who thought she was equating Hillary to Stalin, she apologized - to any of Stalin's ancestors in the room.
Barack Obama only qualification to run for president was being born half-black. And one thing he had going for him, is being the safest man she knows named Hussein.
Anyway, nothing special. Just the usual Coulter, I guess.

"in a non-CPAC related event hosted by the Young Americans group."
Somewhat off-topic, but consider the title "Young Americans". I know its supposed to sound both fresh-faced and Patriotic, but doesn't it really just conjure up images of small children in American Flag T-shirts?
I just can't help thinking of an entire club composed of kids who look like a young Fred Savage from "The Wonder Years".

The Young Americans sound as creepy as the Christian Coalition. More evidence that conservatives are a fringe group.

she may be beloved by you, but i think she a media whore money grabbing snotty nosed bitch.

Obamas qualification is the same as every other candidates. He's over 35 and a native born US citizen. Last I checked those were the only qualifications mandated by the constitution.

Why does anyone care anymore about what she says about anything? (Why did anyone ever care?)

She's a stooge.

How big was 'her' adams apple??? Fellow NCHS alumnus, btw.

Hey, Llama, Spart, Boob, how about a little disclosure here? Folks these two, one or three guys are members of that rival group, The Young Anti-Americans.

I reckon we all better start getting used to addressing Imam Obama as "President-Elect Obama" come November with Johnny Mac at our helm...

Obama is a member of the United Church of Christ. I don't believe they have Imams.

What's in a title? The Archbishop (Imam?) of Canterbury expresses the idea that Sharia law will soon be accepted in the UK. BTW, it is interesting that many of the irreligious and anti-religious Democratics are willing to worship a devout Christian like Sen. Obama as a candidate? It seems the Boob is a big supporter and religion hater, for example..

I don't worship anyone or anything (other than the Red Sox) Fred. And being in opposition to your positions hardly makes one anti-american.

Has anyone actually confirmed that Ann Coulter is a woman? Just curious. She looks like a victim of a bad sex change operation.
Posted by: Omahahaha | Sunday, February 10, 2008 at 04:04 AM
Jeff Gannon is on record as saying Ann is a "woman".

How would he know, Sparty?

Food for thought:
All the hippies here ragging on Ann Coulter probably make a whole lot less money than she does, and are not likely to ever make as much as she does in a single year during their fruity, lefty-fringe moonbat years on this wonderful planet.

And I also make less than Stalin, Hitler and Castro...your point being what? Wealth equals what? Righteousness?
Oh and trust me, if we met the last thing you'd think I was was a hippie.

"--- And I also make less than Stalin, Hitler and Castro...your point being what? Wealth equals what? Righteousness? ---"
Not necessarily, although most people generally make more than two dead guys. As for Castro, he's got one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.
All I'm saying is that some folks here like picking on a lanky chick with a noticeable adam's apple with a razor wit, who can sling back the snark and slap down liberals and faux-conservatives without worrying much about where she is going to get her next meal.
Some call it it her just deserts, and others might call it envy of her good fortune.

"razor wit"
She might have had that at one time (I'm not all that sure) but she clearly can't catch up with the fastball anymore. She's a lot like Morton Downey Jr. in that respect. Once people figured out his schtick the jig was up, the same is true of Ann. Unless she's on friendly turf (Fox) she generally stumbles through most interviews now. How long before she's mugged by Neo-Nazis in a bathroom? I have a feeling Ann is bright enough to at least put the swastika on in the right directions.

"without worrying much about where she is going to get her next meal"
And just why would she worry about that? She doesn't friggin' eat. And no, the olives out of a martini don't count.

Just for the record, I think your using that exchange as the basis of saying "Coulter equates McCain with Hitler" is as far off the wall as anything Coulter is saying about McCain. She didn't do that at all, except generally to point out that sometimes one must ally with one distasteful agent to defeat another. But I guess extremism justifies intellectual dishonesty in some quarters.
Coulter's "I'll support Hillary over McCain" move is extreme, albeit good comedy. But she's not completely wrong; McCain mouths DNC mantras on some topics more facilely than Clinton does. "Tax cuts for the rich," "jobs Americans won't do," "drug companies conspire to keep prices high," etc. Clinton says some of these things, but probably doesn't believe them; being mercenary to the core, she can be counted on to do what the focus groups tell her to, whereas who knows what John McCain's going to do while trying to learn economics?
This won't stop me from voting for McCain to keep the ACU 10-percenters out of the White House. But I don't have to lie about what Ann Coulter said to take that position.
