Exits showing Arizona 36 - 36? WOW! Maybe they're off and I imagine McCain wins it, but it makes him look stupid going to Mass. the day before the vote. Arrogance.
Karl Rove, debuting on Fox News, says that McCain should have watched the Super Bowl in a military community in Georgia, trying to get that extra, pointing out the winner of Georgia gets a bonus of 30 delegates. (Heh. Some of us pointed that out earlier in the night.)
It sounds like good advice. Clearly the trip to Massachusetts did nothing for McCain.
Heck, maybe he should have headed back to Arizona for the game.

Looks like Georgia is going to Huckabee. :p He may be the kingmaker in this yet. Highly entertaining.

Actually it's very depressing. Candidates with the qualifications and qualities of Romney come along once in a lifetime.
One would think Iraq is the only issue and Romney was in favor of withdrawal and Republicans want open borders. It's bizarre.
McCain will be creamed by Obama. He should just how smart he is when he spent the last day in Mass rather than Missouri.

Oops. Perhaps I showed not post while watching the hockey game.

A McCain-Huckabee ticket has been evident for a few weeks now. Huck's stronger than expected showing just ups his price to McCain.

Well I can see one thing. Romney is winning amongst the intelligent, educated, upwardly mobile and informed of every state. McCain is carrying military and moderates and Huckabee is carrying evangelical hayseeds.
It makes sense that I support Romney as I match category one (Romney is winning amongst the intelligent, educated, upwardly mobile and informed of every state).

"Huckabee is carrying evangelical hayseeds," writes Bill Mitchell. Well, Mr. Mitchell, there are intelligent, educated--even Ph.D.s--upwardly mobile and informed evangelical Christians. I am a conservative Christian and believe in the inerrancy of the Bible and know that Jesus Christ is the Savior and the Lord. I am not for Huckabee, who seems to be more a Huckster and comedian than a Christian by his behavior early on. By the way, I am an ardent Romney supporter.

Good for you Bobby but as an intelligent person you know one swallow does not make a spring and one cannot safely draw broad conclusions from anecdotal evidence.
Posted by: Terry Gain | Tuesday, February 05, 2008 at 09:53 PM
Much obliged, Bobby. It is good to see a fellow believer chime in every once in a while to remind the "establishment" that the Christian Right need not lay in the same bed as the Huckster.
Unfortunately, if Faux News is to be believed, Romney is getting wiped out by the Huckabee spoiler effect. Every state except for Massachusetts is either in Huck's column or in McCain's. I don't think Fox could possibly be any more blatant in its shilling for McCain.
Truly saddening to see the GOP hijacked by the "moderate" (read: Rockefeller RINO Left) wing.
I have to wonder if the GOP electorate is really that enthralled by the "War Hero" or the legacy of Bush '43 (of which McCain's 100 year war would be the only legacy thereof).
Speaking of which, Karl Rove is on now indicating that the only possible way Romney can pull a victory from defeat is to hope for wins in caucus and proportional states - McCain has the WTA states on lockdown... and of course, luck in Phase IV.

Wow, it doesn't look like the patriots know where to aim their swiftboats! No matter, Bob Dole Part Deux awaits. Bring em on!!

Hillary vs. McCain. It ain't swiftboats we'll be looking for boob, it's lifeboats. By the way, I going to retire very early, and your filthy butt will be supporting me, so mush..mush..fat ass! Hahaha!

WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THE EXIT POLLS TODAY?
The exit polls showed AZ a dead heat and yet McCain BLOWS ROMNEY AWAY? The exit polls show Romney taking MO, yet he places a DISTANT 3RD?
I mean, its crazy. They are just totally off by a mile.

More silly early retirement talk from the oil baron. Some of actually enjoy our professions and don't just look to have enough cash to sit around and bbq fatty meat. 36 holes a week is enough for me. Oh well. Quite an example you are setting for those junior patriots that you have in PRIVATE schools. Thank you for your service all the same.

Bobby,
"Huckabee is carrying evangelical hayseeds"
Knock the chip off your evangelical shoulder. I am also an evangelical, so get over it. I said Huckabee is carry evangelical hayseeds. That means evangelicals living out in the country. Which is true.
Get over it. Thems the facts.
Posted by: Bill Mitchell | Tuesday, February 05, 2008 at 10:51 PM
Wait - their are non-hayseed evangelicals??? This may be the biggest discovery in the 3,521 years since God created this christian planet.
Posted by: BobInStamford | Tuesday, February 05, 2008 at 10:57 PM
Yes, Bob... "their" are non-hayseed evangelicals. Blows your 1100cc little monkey-descended brain out, don't it...?
Silly goofball. Now, get back to your McJob so those of us who want to retire early can grill up all kinds of nice imported Kōbe Wagyuu beef.... at over $100 per pound, we'll need you to work double shifts to keep us in entitlement cash.
So, chop-chop, lardo!
Posted by: seekeronos | Tuesday, February 05, 2008 at 11:11 PM
seek, Bob enjoys delivering pizzas, and wishes the best for the Impress and Chimperor, the royalty of the Democratics. Yay!

looking for lifeboats... that's so true, TK.
McKerry's got a date with a huge crater come November. Here's hoping he takes Huckabee along as copilot. Listening to Hillary's speech I'm wondering if I can live without looking at a TV for four years.
Disturbing that the South is so lopsided for Huckabee. It's tough to see a comeback in 2012 when large swaths of the electorate in the South would rather vote for the local boy who stayed close to home, prays at the same churches and cracks jokes to paper over holes in his record than a candidate who could have put the party back on the path of Reagan. I hope conservatism down south is more than "we hate mormons" or "we hate yankees", but it's difficult to see how you get this result any other way.

That said, Romney still looks like he's coming in second if you figure he takes half of California, and I don't see how McCain gets to the 600+ delegates he was expecting when he's only got 371 after getting all the big states in the east. Is there some significant delay between when a state is won and when the delegates are apportioned?
Posted by: Mark | Wednesday, February 06, 2008 at 12:01 AM
600? Was somebody expecting McCain to sweep the South?
McCain will end up with around 500. People were expecting around 400-500.

Well, let's see. They could be polling the wrong people or people are so fed up with all the pundits & are misleading them on purpose!!!!

"Silly goofball. Now, get back to your McJob so those of us who want to retire early can grill up all kinds of nice imported Kōbe Wagyuu beef"
Does your angry, vengeful LORD know you type such wicked things?? That's right, He knows EVERYTHING. Better get praying!!!

Nothing wicked at all about what I said there, Boob. Now be a good little serf, and get back to working that fryer... customers want their "freedom fries", and we want your garnished wages to support us in our retirement... just like Mistress Hillary says we are ENTITLED to.
