If McCain gets the nomination, who si going to send him money?

"--- The dynamics this sets up for the GOP across the Fall could bring a potential disaster. ---"

More like a certain, permanent, and irreparable destruction of the GOP. Can you say "Whigs", folks?

Because a McCain nomination will result in 8 years of Obama followed by eight years of Oprah, and shall usher in the collapse of federalist, conservative, Judeo-Christian centric governance in this nation, and will certainly lead to a permanent single-party rule of Socialist Democrats who will slide this nation into the dumpster of history with ruinous policies that would make Nero envious.

"And according to the folly of the people, thus endeth the Republic".

Its amazing to me that those Republicans don't see the fallacy of a McCain nomination. His position alone on global warming would be called an extreme position if it was a Democrat supporting it.

Man, the founders look even more like genius's now, they knew exactly the tendencies of politicians and those that wish to be governed.

Who wants to vote for a Democrat in Republican clothing?

I'm amazed that so many people who support Romney over McCain seemed so deranged. I'm supporting McCain, but by a nose. The only reason is that on the issues where I disagree, at least I know where he stands. I don't have a clue on Romney. He's changed most of positions from anywhere to 2-15 years ago. The one he has not change is gun control. Still a Brady Bill supporter. I'm a Senator Sessions type Republican, but no one like him is running. I don't get it

I think after everyone settles down, they will realize that McCain is the best candidate, even among conservatives, to fght the War on Terror(anyone remember we're still at war? If you haven't heard about it lately, it's because the troop surge McCain has called for in Iraq for 4 years is working) and to win in November.

There is no doubt that McCain has some very disturbing beliefs that should upset conservatives but conservatism is comprised of both positions on issues and priciples. On the issues I am not thrilled with Romneys seemingly recent conservatism. He seems to have become a conservative in 2005 when he decided he wanted to run for President. He won elections in the same state that elects Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Deval Patrick and Barney Frank. HELLO.. After conservatives bashed Bill Clinton for accepting a Rhodes scholarship ( A one in a lifetime opportunity) and evading the draft by going to Europe we are now faced with Romney who did the same thing by hiding in a Mormon mission in Europe. With all of his faults , this conservative will vote for the War Hero..

Which is the better choice: a conservative who is becoming increasingly RINO, or a RINO who is becoming more conservative? What can conservative Republicans do? Show up at the convention and demand the nomination of a real conservative. Invite Newt and Fred to speak. Speeches and ballots can give the GOP a better candidate and platform than the flawed primary process.

As McCain has done on other issues, like Tax Cuts and Amnesty, look for his support for 2nd Amendment issues to become diminished by his association with the Democrats in the Senate.
He is truly, by his voting record, neither a Conservative or a Republican.

Hold your nose and vote in November but there is not a sure thing about the outcome.
America is in for a very tough four years regardless of who is elected. The next Prez
is likely to be a one termer like Jimmy Carter.

Spot on, old trooper. Spot on.

What is needed for American Christians is for us to call the nation to repentance from our national sins of dissipation, gluttony (of both physical foods as well as spiritually-damaging inputs like the foul and evil things put on the Hellivision by Hollyweird), sexual immorality of both hetero- and homo- kind, and a general disregard and ungrateful attitude toward the Creator, the Lord Jesus Christ.

It is for these things that our nation is under a curse, and unless we repent, 2 Chronicles 7:14, "in sackcloth and ashes" as did Nineveh before us, we shall see many terrifying calamities befall our nation as the Lord pours out the Cup of His indignation and wrath and executes His righteous judgments against the wicked and disobedient, and yes, as He cleanses His beloved Church and disciplines the disobedient Christians who have gone astray after false idols and vanity.

Unless we repent, we will have a far more greater terror than the Jihadists to deal with: when the Lord God Himself judges a nation, and even more so when He *judges His people*... it is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of an angry God. (ref. Hebrews 10:30-31)

Perhaps it is time for us to consider the words Jonathan Edwards once preached to an Colonial America:

"What is needed for American Christians is for us to call the nation to repentance from our national sins of dissipation, gluttony (of both physical foods as well as spiritually-damaging inputs like the foul and evil things put on the Hellivision by Hollyweird), sexual immorality of both hetero- and homo- kind, and a general disregard and ungrateful attitude toward the Creator, the Lord Jesus Christ."

Hahahaha! So good! I do love your little religious purity tirades, Seek. It's not the war that's ruining our military. Its not the poverty and corporate greed that despoils the land and taints our food. Declining moral standards are to blame! If everyone were to restrict ourselves to watching Joel Olsteen and drinking Jesus Juice in the confines of our family home with a church-ordained marriage and 2.3 kids, the world would be good again.

If everybody can just pretend to be normal, then normalcy will follow. Clear up the symptoms and the disease will leave the body!

Why is it that the repentant sinner never seems to get saved, Seek? You've had 7 years of God in the White House. The Republican Congress - elected on Family Values - has only succeeded in toe-tapping bathroom sex and, dare I say, liberal levels of man-boy sexual perversion. Given everything you could ask for, your party screws the pouch on the alter of Conservativism, and your solution is to increase the level of religious conservativism. Brilliant! If going right isn't the right answer, than going more right must be the solution!

It's the empty-headedness that truly gets me. A nation in which Warren Buffet claims he's not paying enough in taxes, the Republican Party demands tax cuts. In a nation with a church on every street corner, the Republican Party demands more religious observance. In a nation stricken time and again by natural disaster, the Republican Party demands people fend for themselves and pull up by their own bootstraps.

So much disconnect. So much cognative dissonance. So much dumb. My god, you guys are in for a pounding in '08, and you have absolutely no idea why. Amazing.

"--- If everybody can just pretend to be normal, then normalcy will follow. Clear up the symptoms and the disease will leave the body! ---"

No, Llama.

You've got it wrong - again. It is EXACTLY the root and source of the disease we treat, if we submit ourselves to the will and purpose of Our Creator. It is He who wants to heal us and make us whole, if only we would have Him.

It is both the repentant Christian who needs to keep his eyes on his first love (Revelation 2:4-5) and keep a humble, servant attitude, as well as the unregenerate sinner who must come to Jesus.

And Joel Olsteen? Heh. He preaches nice platitudes reminiscent of most "motivational speakers" of his ilk, but precious little on the saving grace of Jesus, or perhaps more importantly, the judgment of hell and eternal separation from God which should create a holy terror of dying apart from Christ.

No, if you want to listen to some good, solid Bible preaching, I'll point you in the direction of Dr. John R. Rice or Dr. Shelton Smith (sermons archived at http://www.swordofthelord.com/archives/ ) who preach the Word of God, not some watered down, milquetoast "feel good gospel".

In fact, the Gospel message largely makes sinners (and "saints") feel uncomfortable, especially if they are confortable in their sin.

Please don't say that we have "had God in the White House" for the past seven years either -- that is simply not the case.

A more accurate statement would be that we have had seven years of various leaders paying lip service to God while doing as they pleased -- pederasty and other forms of sexual immorality included.

And what is more is this:

The people of southern Louisiana did not need the bumbling, inept, and corrupt government (be it FEMA at the Federal level, or that clown who was mayor of New Orleans) to "save" them.

What they needed to do is - if they are so inclined to live in an area that is mostly under sea level and prone to flooding - is to take the necessary emergency precautions toward survival and preserving themselves.

Strong, faithful, Bible believing and practicing Churches and localized community efforts to practice and exercise preparedness can be much more effective than a federal agency known for its obtuseness and ineptitude in dealing with localized disasters. For another part, one has to question the wisdom of rebuilding a city that is located on such an ill-thought site.

So yes, Llama. There is such a thing as personal responsibility, and it grows upward toward being responsible as a community, and as a church (faith-based community).

"Its not the poverty and corporate greed that despoils the land and taints our food. Declining moral standards are to blame!"

As usual LameLama you show your extremely high intellect. (Why aren't you in school anyway or skipping gym class?) Yeah you saw the term "Christian" and lost your mind. See, greed in and of itself IS a lack of "morals". Killing five helpless women or your family IS a lack of morals. Really has nothing to do with religion. Need I go further for you?

Oh, and this:

"--- A nation in which Warren Buffet claims he's not paying enough in taxes, the Republican Party demands tax cuts. ---"

That's fine. Let him buy treasury bonds, or better yet, let him give 70% of his investment income as a free gift to Uncle Sam. I'm sure it would be well used.

"A nation in which Warren Buffet claims he's not paying enough in taxes."

That's one of my favorite statements and Buffet is not alone in that sentiment. Unlike our friends, rather than blaming congress, excuse me, repugnicans for it, I have other questions. Beginning with "If you're against the tax cut, why do you accept it?" IRS WILL definately let you pay more. "If you're so damned high minded and unhappy with being so rich, why not start a school, put a doctor in a poor area, etc?" ANd still, my #1 question remains unanswered. "Who ARE "the rich"?

McCain supporters keep saying, "At least we know what we're getting with McCain." Granted, that's true. McCain is a liberal, and he's not going to change. 25 years is enough to show us that. Romney on the other hand could be a liberal but he could also be a sincere conservative. With Romney you have a 50/50 chance of getting something solidly conservative. With McCain, you don't. Worst case scenario, Romney ends up being liberal. You've lost nothing. You have the same results as if you had voted for McCain.

I personally believe Romney would govern far more conservative than McCain. Romney is young enough to care about his political reputataion. McCain could care less. If McCain assumes the presidency, it's over for him after that. Why follow through on conservative promises when there are no more elections to follow? I believe Romney would follow through on conservative ideals, because his career will be far from finished after a presidency. Isn't it time for McCain to retire?

people in the nanny state of mass have to pay $672>$912 in penalties for 2008 if they have not obtained insurance. and, romney's plan is skyrocketing over projected costs. oh but he's the conservative, come on give me a break.

Considering that acquiring insurance through an employer usually runs anywhere from $200-500 per month, usually lower than that if the employer picks up some of the cost (as employers can purchase policies in bulk and get steeper discounts than a private citizen on his own dime)... that might not seem so bad.

Or for the younger and more fit, setting up an HSA or FSA (health savings account/flexible spending account) which can set up an investment pool of money to draw upon for routine and emergent medical needs.

Something about prevention being worth more than the cur comes to mind as well - shopping for policies that reward proactivity in keeping fit and well maintained (no smoking, overeating, drinking, drugging or whoring around with women who do)...

...the free market can work, if we give it a chance.
