Listed below are links to weblogs that reference A Timely Reminder For Senator McCain:

» McCain: Romney Is A "Suck Up" For Courting Conservatives from Ace of Spades HQ
Straight Talk: The New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza asked whether the radio hosts’ displeasure might be explained by “the fact that you never tried to court these people, suck up to them like Romney did.” “Great question!” McCain answered, laughing at... [Read More]

seek, I took the table below from a previous comment of mine to a Dan blog. The spacing isn't too good, but as good as I can do. Thought it might be interesting to put McCain's "conservative" rating in a little context:

From the ACU site:

2005 2004 Service Overall
SESSIONS 100 96 9 98
McCAIN 80 72 23 83*
KYL 100 100 19 97
ALLARD 96 96 15 96
MARTINEZ 100 NA 1 96
CHAMBLISS 96 96 11 94
CRAPO 100 92 13 93
BROWNBACK 100 96 11 95
McCONNELL 100 96 21 90
BUNNING 92 100 19 95
VITTER 96 96 7 94
LOTT 91 96 33 93
INHOFE 100 100 19 97

And more over 90%

McCain is the 15th most conservative Senator? Thanks, Fred. You make this easy.

Words cannot describe the utter revulsion I feel for John McCain. Utter, utter revulsion. He is a liar and a fraud. I despise him. This is the man who almost left the Republican Party in 2001. He voted with the liked of Olympia Snowe on almost every major Conservative Issue. He considered being John Kerry's Running Mate.

And now he tells us he is a great Conservative. He is a f***ing liar.

I will never, never, never vote for McCain and if he does win the nomination, will enjoy watching him slaughted by the Democrat in the fall. The BEST part will be watching all of his good "friends" in the MSM suddenly turn on McCain and crucify him publicly. I'll enjoy watching all the dirst the DNC has on McCain suddenly appear magically. I will enjoy John Mccain go from being the national leader to 20 poinst behind the day after the nomination.

John McCain is the #1 RINO in the history of the Republican Party. I despise him.

Just in a case anybody wants to see a liberal Republican

Chafee is pretty bad. So is Lindsey Grahamnesty herself.

But they ain't running for POTUS.

McCain is, and by far, he is the biggest RINO of the GOP pack shooting for the 'Nom.

That's what I come here for, Roy, to make things easy for you liberals.

Are you ones of those “conservatives” who sat out the 1980 President election because we nominated a formerly democrat governor who had a history of signing pro-abortion legislation?

I'm just a conservative that's willing to get 75% than 0%. Good luck on voting for Hillary. Tell me in a few years how well that works out for you.

Thou deceivest thyself, O rash knave.

"--- I'm just a conservative that's willing to get 75% than 0%. ---"

Yeah, except that you'll be lucky if you get 12% or 155 at best. More likely, McCain will give you numerous swift kicks to your testicles.

Most likely, the "Manchurian Candidate" McCain will loose in a horrific landslide to Hillary (or Obama) that makes Clinton victory over Dole look like a tight squeaker of a win.

And then you'll have one your testicles handed to you by Hillary, while she takes the other for a tax.

"--- democrat governor ---"

Yup, and some old time democrats like Ronald "Dutch" Reagan were far more conservative than some self-styled "conservative" senators are today.

Whoops - fat finger to the five key:

"Yeah, except that you'll be lucky if you get 12% or 15% at best. More likely, McCain will give you numerous swift kicks to your testicles."

"A Win in Iraq"
"Extension of the Bush tax cuts"
"$5,000 health insurance tax credit"
"Elimination of the AMT"
"Alito and Roberts"
"Permanent Ban of Internet Taxes"

Thank you, sir! May I have another!

I will have to say that McCain will screw me over on Illegals.

It's too bad Sessions didn't run. I would have supported him.

As I said, under a hypothetical McCain presidency, we'd be lucky to get as much as 15% of that.
Or in practical terms, one choice out of the six you've listed.

Or 15% of each:

"A 100 years to a stalemate in Iraq"
"Economic collapse as spending and taxes receipts fail to balance, and more greenbacks roll off the presses"
"$750 health insurance tax credit"
"Lifting of the minimum income to trigger the AMT by 115% of current trigger value"
"a RINO like Stevens"
"Deferral/irrelevance of Internet Taxes" (many states now have use taxes in place to collect tax on Internet purchases).

Is the worst case scenario under President McCain better than your best case scenario?

"Iraqueda"
"A Negative Tax Cut"
"Individual mandates and wage garnishment for violators"
"100% of current AMT value"
"Another Living Constitutionalist or 'Make Up Shit As You Go Along' Justice"
"Not a Internet Tax, It's an Internet Fee"

Why are you voting for 0% again?

By the way, getting tax payers on April 15th to declare what they've bought on the Internet over the past year doesn't make the federal arguments over an actual Internet tax irrelevent. There is more compliance over Speed Limits than State Internet Taxes right now.

This deserves further comment:

"A 100 years to a stalemate in Iraq"

Where will the terrorists get the resources and manpower to wage a 100 year war in Iraq? Is the surge not working? Should we go ahead and wave the white flag now?

"--- Why are you voting for 0% again? ---"

I'm not. I'll vote for a REAL constitutionalist like Dr. Paul, if he extends his run as an independent (unlikely, since he is running simultaneously for his congressional seat this year) -- or the US Constitution Party (C) candidate if McCain gets the 'Nom.

Of course, it is a protest vote at that point, but I have my principles: I will not support RINO McCain, and I will do everything in my (legal) power to deep-six his campaign. Just like he did by shacking up with the Huckster.

No argument there, actually. I'm just saying that the state use taxes provide all the precedent the IRS (or the Dems) need to get a federal VAT set up for the internet.

Some states, I think Michigan is one, imposes penalties at the ISP level for bulk email senders who do not register with the state tax board at far greater cost than for the cost of the licenses to do their spams.

It is known as various trade incentives to enemy powers, entangling alliances to foreign despots who must hold down roiling masses of extremely poor people brainwashed with dreams of Jihad and piles of virgins... and kickbacks made by Islamic Jihadist masjids to "humanitarian funds" which find their way back into the hands of jihadists.

It costs less than $100 to arm a suicide bomber with what he needs to do his evil; it costs far less to piece together an IED or other munition to be detonated in a place that causes the widest possible amount of damage and terror.

The surge - unless unaccompanied by an attempt to rebuild that nation, and utterly Islam destroy root and branch, and replace it with Christian missionaries... is nothing more than a holding action which we cannot pay for in perpetuity, much less 100 years as your boy McCain wants.

I do not think that the long range goal is realizable, unless we start seriously converting the Iraqis to Biblical Christianity.

"and replace it with Christian missionaries"

You know, I generally don't read your wacky Jesus-babble, but funny lines like that one about sending missionaries to Iraq has made me reconsider. That's some funny stuff!!

From Mustang: "Good luck on voting for Hillary."

Hey, Mustang Sally, what gives you the goofy idea I would vote for Hillary? I guess the same place you get your other goofy ideas.
