You Know McCain's A Democrat
Update: I guess McCain figures he might need some help in Florida, so Fred will stay in the race with a third place. According to exit polls via Fox, he even came in fourth with conservatives. Fred - it's time to go, if John will give you permission. Freakin' shill.
This was South Carolina. Fred can't do better than third there? There's really only one conclusion, his goal of staying in would be something other than winning - which he clearly can't do. He isn't even making a difference in the delegate counts.
Over the past month, Huckabee first surged in polls of South Carolina Republicans, from fifth place to, for a time, a solid first place. Over the past two weeks, however, he has fallen behind McCain, largely for two reasons: McCain got a major boost from his January 8 New Hampshire win, and the struggling campaign of Fred Thompson made a last ditch effort to get on track here. While well behind and tied for third place with Romney, Thompson did make gains, and the data suggest that virtually every point Thompson picked up came out of Huckabee’s hide.
He's trying to go to court to extend voting hours in one of his strongest districts. Typical liberal, he goes running for a judge whenever he doesn't get his way.
CONWAY, South Carolina (CNN) – A top backer for John McCain’s presidential bid tells CNN the Arizona senator's campaign is seeking a court order to extend voting in Horry County by one hour, after learning voting machines in this eastern part of the state were malfunctioning on primary day.
State Rep. Tracey Edge, R-Myrtle Beach, said the campaign was trying to find a circuit court judge to issue the ruling.
"We are seeking an order to extend the voting time, because of reported and publicized information that people were turned away from the polls,” Edge said.
All polls in the South Carolina Republican primary are scheduled to close at 7 p.m. ET. Complicating matters for McCain, the county has just one resident circuit court judge, who they have not yet been able to reach. McCain won Horry County when he ran for president in 2000.
The McCain campaign Saturday was telling supporters residing in this county to make sure their vote was counted.

Cheap shot.

"Cheap shot."
Really?
Sounded more like an honest, forthright assessment to me.

Dan you are seriously deranged. Enjoy your 8 years of Hillary/Obama. Your hatred, unfortunately, is all too common among conservatives. Enjoy your 30 senators and 130 congressmen, the price for your purity. Unfortunatley, your hatred will have the result of screwing the rest of this country. I guess you forget that there is a war going on.

"8 years of"
Purity? No quite. Otherwise I'd be yelling FRED!! But if you think a 71 yr old guy who has been in DC for a lifetime is going to win in Nov, you're nuts. All those nice MSM pieces go away and he'll be painted as a DC insider with a crazy temper who would be 75/76 by the end of his first term. And don't try and sell me those national polls. They're nothing but name recognition surveys at this point. McCain would get toasted in a general. Can you say Bob Dole?

Could voters get behind Mitt Romney? Everything I see says "yes". Would actual conservatives ever get behind Huckabee or McAmnesty? I heard Rush all but say people should stay home if Huckabee or McCain were the nominee. They would be a disaster! Go Mitt!

Just started reading your site- excellent!
As a Fred guy I agree that when he wouldn't take after McCain, my red flag went up.
That said, I like to think I'm a typical conservative so the only guy I can even remotely get behind is Mitt.I'll assume Fred ends it tonight.
Everyone else will pander and run to the left in the general election- hello Hillary.
We're not called the "stupid" party for nothing.

What's the problem with extended voting hours? It gives everyone a chance to vote no? Is it somehow slanted towards democrats? As for running to judges when you don't get your way...would Bush even be president if Baker hadn't run to judges?

I will support any GOP nominee in the General election except Ihr Führer.

McCain's not my first choice either, but, if he was YOUR GUY in a critical election, somehow I don't think you'd be saying "oh, don't bother about getting all your vote in one of your best districts."
McCain's a lot of things, but he's a much better candidate than Bob Dole - a much more dynamic character, among other things, and, if he gets the nom, the Democrats won't be running an incumbent president.

I think that the shriveled Latino Senator from Arizona will be a fine candidate. After all, he is qualified to talk about difficult economic times. He lived through the Depression! Foreign Policy? He's been around since BEFORE WW2. Juan McCain has seen it all!

That's why the McCain ticket needs a VP Thompson. Thompson will keep him in line on the immigration issue.
Of course, there’s always room to disagree in a Thompson VP administration.
That room is called the morgue.
