Um, Bill - The Dems Took Years To Adopt Almost All Of Jackson's 88 Platform

Impeached former president Bill Clinton made an obvious race-baiting remark regarding Barack Obama. Without solicitation, he reminded the press that Jesse Jackson won South Carolina twice. Video here. Jackson was kneecapped in his more credible run in 88 and ultimately lost the nominations to two major losers in the general: Mondale and Dukakis. But there's another very interesting tidbit, as well.

Jackson's campaign had also been interrupted by allegations regarding his half-brother Noah Robinson, Jr.'s criminal activity. Jackson had to answer frequent questions about his brother, who was often referred to as "the Billy Carter of the Jackson campaign".

With one or two notable exceptions, over the years, the Democrat Party has come to embrace nearly all of Jackson's 88 platform. Hillary Clinton even invokes some of it today, twenty-years later and Jackson won as many as 13 states. In a recent debate, Republican candidate, Mike Huckabee, recently proposed something similar to Jackson's WPA idea. Bill Clinton even went further than Jackson's platform regarding military cuts.

So, Bill ... in 2008, just who is the future of the Democrat Party? And don't you and Hillary now look and sound more like it's racist past?

... creating a Works Progress Administration-style program to rebuild America's infrastructure and provide jobs to all Americans,

reprioritizing the War on Drugs to focus less on mandatory minimum sentences for drug users (which he views as racially biased) and more on harsher punishments for money-laundering bankers and others who are part of the "supply" end of "supply and demand"

reversing Reaganomics-inspired tax cuts for the richest ten percent of Americans and using the money to finance social welfare programs

cutting the budget of the Department of Defense by as much as fifteen percent over the course of his administration

declaring Apartheid-era South Africa to be a rogue nation

instituting an immediate nuclear freeze and beginning disarmament negotiations with the Soviet Union

giving reparations to descendants of black slaves

supporting family farmers by reviving many of Roosevelt's New Deal–era farm programs

creating a single-payer system of universal health care

ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment

increasing federal funding for lower-level public education and providing free community college to all

applying stricter enforcement of the Voting Rights Act and supporting the formation of a Palestinian state.

With the exception of a resolution to implement sanctions against South Africa for its apartheid policies, none of these positions made it into the party's platform in either 1984 or 1988.

You are right on. Everyday the Clintons look more like "has beens" representing an (unpleasent) era gone by. Hillary has enough problems so letting Bill run wild is surprising. OK by me since I want a republican back in the whitehouse. The problem is that Dems, Libs, and the main stream media have this image of Bill Clinton as some sort of god. That image gives Bill the impression that the world follows anything he says. The Clintonistas are probably waking with a headache today wondering how they recover after another stomping at the hands of Obama. If they don't yank Bill out of the lime light Hillary might as well pack the bags and head home.
This past week was too much about race than it was about ideas. What is really funny is that the Republicans are still viewed as "bigots" even though I think the real race problem lies within the democratic elite.

Blacks are only 12 per cent of the USA population. In South Carolina they are 50 per cent of the population or slightly more than that. So what do you expect from South Carolina in a Democratic primary? Obama of course.
Bill is a bottom like type of pol who knows that Hillary will win big in NY and California and most all states outside of the South in Democratic primaries.
The Democrats will fall in line after Super Tuesday when Hillary will wipe out Obama nationwide.
South Carolina was all about gender and race. If you are not black dont apply in South Carolina. Take note that white men didnt even bother to vote in this Democratic primary. Only 18 per cent voted.
The South will still go Republican in the general election.
All this hoopla over Obama is just a liberal feel good deal. It is Hillary's turn dontcha know?

I'm a litle confused here. Which one of those bottom feeding Clintons is running for office?
The Queen of Travelgate and Whitewater or the Purjorer and Philanderer in Chief?
If THEY win, Who takes the Oath of Office?
When they get caught in their usual mischief, which one gets Impeached?

Help me out here.

Why all the moaning and groaning about Bill involving himself in Hill's
campaign? Bill Clinton is the ultimate political animal. He lives and breaths politics. His wife for crying out loud is running for president, should we expect a political junkie like our former Pants Dropper in Chief to just fade into the shadows and become invisible?
If or when Hill sews up the nomination these same moaners and groaners will have their nose so far up Bill's butt he will be doing commercials for Preparation H.

I think Bill's work will win her the Democratic nomination. But it will turn off so many people that it will cost Hillary the election in the general election. Bill is over exposing himself. Once again. And this time I think people are really finally sick and tired of him. And her.
