Two Dem Groups Seek To Skew Michigan Primary
One of Mike Huckabee's big supporters in Michigan, LaMar Lemmons is actually a supporter of Barack Obama. As there is no Dem race in Michigan, he's looking to repeat a trick he has used effectively before. At the same time, Kos is urging liberals to vote for Romney to try and extend the Republican primary.
one of Mike Huckabee’s major boosters in the primary is actually supporting Barack Obama for President.
In 2000, Democrats eager to embarrass then-Republican Gov. John Engler came over in droves to put John McCain over the top against Engler’s candidate, George W. Bush. One of the ringleaders of the crossover campaign was a group that worked in the inner city known as “Democrats Out To Get Engler” (DOG) and its kingpin was -- are you sitting? -- LaMar Lemmons.
Some Democrats are urging Democrat voters to vote uncommitted, which would allow any delegates to be won later in the year. But why preserve democracy when you can jumble a Republican race. Don't look for the polls to be too accurate in Michigan. Or for the results to necessarily mirror Republican voters desires. As I posted previously, this has the potential to be a real joke. Too bad given the importance of the race.

This is shocking and disgraceful. I urge prayer and vigilance against evil-doers.

As a Michigander, you nailed it. Only Hillary's on the ballot on the Dem side, that frees millions of Dems to play with the Republican Primary. McCain crows about winning Michigan in 2000, but he didn't win with Republicans. Democrats and Independents came over to vote for him.
What's new that I haven't heard before, is that they aren't going to back McCain this time, since he's this week's frontrunner, but Huckabee or Romney. McCain's big argument is that he can attract Dems and Independents. What if he doesn't get them?

"McCain crows about winning Michigan in 2000, but he didn't win with Republicans. Democrats and Independents came over to vote for him."
I see you peeing your pants over voter shenanigans, but Jabba seems to have picked up the key issue. With no serious Dem contention in Michigan, those people who just want to cast a ballot - particularly those who have a hate-on for Hillary - will want to get their voices in on the Republican they'd be least disgusted with.
This should favor McCain immensely if it doesn't give Paul a sudden surge. Paul is the only Republican anti-war candidate. McCain is about the only mainstream Republican that Dems would pull the lever for.

Most Democrats in Michigan could care less who the Republicans vote for. We want the opportunity to vote for the Democratic candidates we like. But that isn't going to happen thanks to the Michigan Democratic Party attempts to make the Michigan primary more "relevant" (By the way, the Michigan Republican Party was all for the date change too, their national party just didn't ding them on it as badly).
So, we have few choices - write in candidates won't be counted - and what the heck does "uncommitted" mean? Michigan issues will not be discussed by the presidential candidates and to add insult to injury, both the Democratic and Republican state parties will receive lists of who voted in their primary. Has anyone ever heard of a secret ballot?
Will I vote? Don't know yet. Someone is going to have to convince me that voting an uncommitted ticket is not a waste of my time.

that's truly funny! i love the ad with Romney looking incredibly clueless! I'm a nurse practitioner in farmington, michigan and most of the democrats here and 95% of the physicians LOVE daily Kos and plan to vote for Romney like he said they should. It's not illegal and it is really funny. more power to them!!

If you support Obama or Edwards and/or do NOT support Hillary, then vote UNCOMMITTED. If uncommitted gets at least 15% of the vote, some delegates will represent someone other than Hillary. Also, it will stunt Hillary''s momentum and let one of the more electable candidates (read, OBAMA) get a boost. Don't waste your vote on the clown republican race. Voting "Uncommitted" is NOT a waste of a vote if you want Edwards or Obama to get the nomination.
(I would love Hillary to be president, but she would lose to general election. Keep in mind Dems, that simply nominating Hillary doesn't mean she would be president. You MUST think about the general election. Vote Obama for a sure win!)

WHY I THOUGHT ON 01/07/2008 HILLARY WILL WIN NH PRIMARY
News media said NO BODY EXPECTED SENATOR CLINTON TO WIN IN NEW HAMPSHIRE PRIMARY on the day before the New Hampshire Primary. But I was the exceptional. On 01/07/2007 the night before the New Hampshire Primary, I attended to Senator Clinton's campaign in Manchester. After listened to Senator Clinton's speech and when she was shaking hands with me, I said to her "YOU WILL WIN TOMORROW".
The following are the reasons why I thought Senator Clinton will win the New Hampshire Primary despite the Poll showed that Senator Obama was 13% higher than Senator Clinton.
1. Senator Clinton has done many works in the past decades probably starting with the work on Water Gate Event investigation; as the first Lady she was very active in the international activities, and very well recoganized by the whole world; plus the tremendous works done in the past seven years as the New York Senator.
I do not know any significant work done by Senator Obama, though he can talk extremely well.
My points are, the candidate for the President should:
"DO NOT SHOW WHAT YOU CAN SAY TO THE PEOPLE IN THE COUNTRY; BUT JUST SHOW WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO THE PEOPLE IN THE COUNTRY"
"IT IS EASY TO SAY SOMETHING THAN TO HAVE SOMETHING REALLY BEING DONE"
"AMERICAN DO NOT NEED A PRESIDENT ONLY GOOD AT TALKING; AMERICAN NEED A PRESIDENT GOOD AT DOING TO MAKE POSITIVE CHANGES"
That was why I thought Senator Clinton was much better than Senator Obama.
2. In the evening of 01/07/2008 I heard from the National Public Radio that a man said he was going to vote for Senator Obama, and he attended to a Senator Obama's campaign. He talked to Senator Obama after Senator Obama's speech and asked Senator Obama what he is going to change; but Senator Obama could not answer his question. So he decided to change to vote for Senator Clinton.
3. I listened to Senator Clinton's speech on 01/07/2008 evening campaign and really feel the way Senator Clinton's talk is quite different from Senator Obama's talk. Senator Clinton is more caring and more accurate on the issues related to the people in the country, she has the plan to make the changes. She is more reliable on what she is saying to the people.
So I really felt that Senator Clinton is the candidate for the Nominee for Democratic Party, and she can win the election. That was why I said confidently to Senator Clinton on 01/07/2008 night: "YOU WILL WIN TOMORROW".
