Throwing The Black Man Off The Bus
The WaPo informs us that the Clintons lie. Oh really, ... who knew? Now look at Barbara Boxer's reaction and imagine what it would be if Obama were running against a Republican in a dirty campaign:
Sen. Barbara Boxer, who represents the big Feb. 5 primary prize of California, called the campaign "very rough, very tough" and added: "It's a fight to the finish."
"People want authenticity -- they're getting authenticity here," said Boxer, who is neutral in the race. "But I don't see it as a long-term problem. People want to see if you're thrown a punch, how you are going to react. Can you stand up? Do you wither under criticism? Now, I do think it's better for us as a party if we all stick to a debate on the issue. But I think the candidates know that."
The Clintons have taken to running new ads that clearly distort the truth and Obama's record. See reactions at link above. Better to potentially destroy one promising Black politician, than to keep the Clintons from the White House. Will it result in a permanent rift? Probably not. The Democrats have such a strangle hold on the Black vote, the same people denouncing the tactics now will be out on the stump for Hillary looking to mend the fence.
Still, if the Republicans have any sense, they'll make an extra effort this year to reach out to that segment of the voting population. Besides, they will probably desperately need the votes.

How dare they distort his record...that's the GOP's job.

If Obama was just "black enough" the Al & Jessie show would be all over this. Bill should have listened to his hero William Fulbright and Obama would know to sit in the back of the bus and keep his mouth shut. The weather for Saturday in most of SC is going to be great. Will we see Slick Willie implode on Sat night? Just saw him on tv. Seems like a millionaire could afford a suit that fits.
