Mark Levin at The Corner points to a possible, if not now likely alliance between Mike Huckabee and John McCain. Rudy could throw in after he drops, as well. An AG spot might be nice. Think about what that would mean for the Republican Party.
Given statements and positions, a new coalition like that would have no problem trying to amend the Constitution at the drop of a hat if the issue were popular with the electorate on any given day.
It would rely chiefly upon liberal evangelicals, while dragging some conservatives along with no where else to go. Fiscal cons would have to suck wind. They would advocate prudently limiting gun laws, dictating dietary habits and smoking and dismiss the rule of law when it comes to illegal immigration, and perhaps any other issue that got out of hand. And they've already shown no problems with restricting political speech.
Tell me, where is the conservatism in all that?

"Tell me, where is the conservatism in all that?"
Nowhere, but same goes for Mitt. Hell, man, look at his record. Mandated health care, pro-homosexual and pro-abortion, open borders and pro gun control. Where is the conservatism in that, Dan? Mitt's no different from the others. You and others are pitching this guy as a conservative, but he's not and never has been.

I'm afraid to say this now, gentlemen... but Freedom™ as we knew it in this country is all but finished.
The GOP establishment is nothing more than the Socialists (Democrats) Lite™.
Perhaps the Paulnuts weren't as far off their rockers as we had previously thought... well, too late for that now.
Watch for Huck to throw in the towel and endorse McCain along with Rudy, and then a McCain administration only slightly to the left of Hillary, but certainly to the right of Obama.
The "Skull and Bonesers" and Country Club Repubbies are just as guilty of treason and media manipulation as the reddest Democrats.
And even more maddening, the stupid sheep who follow the media's brayings as they set themselves up as kingmakers are too deluded by the lies and manipulations to have supported any of the viable, true conservatives who ran in this race (Hunter, Tancredo, Thompson or Brownback)...
Trees and ropes for the whole sorry lot of them when the rebby'looshun comes!
No wait, wrong revolution. This Republic is stick-a-fork-in-it-doine, and the other shoe will drop in November.
It's game over kids... might as well start hiding the goods and the guns up in the hills... and preparing for the one world government of George Soros and his appointed puppetmasters.
Whatever you do, just don't take the mark of the beast.
