The Allegedly Pending Romney Scandal
Update: Via Allah at Hot Air - two scandals? Hmm....
This from Huckabee's Joe Carter today:
Even if the impending scandal that has been rumored for weeks doesn’t derail his campaign (I can't say what it is but you should hear about it before Jan. 8), his inherent dishonesty will eventually do him in.
Remember this on a presser at the National Press Club for Jan. 7 from Joe Gandelman? I thought Moran might be jumping the gun, along with unnecessarily spreading a rumor about McCain. There's another version of the circulating email here.
It has a link to confirm whether the recipient can be there (we’re on the West Coast and would pass on something like this) and it’s signed by Daryl Toor, CEO/Chief Awareness Officer, Attention Group (apparently a PR firm) for Revelation Press. Mr. Toor does have a presence on the Internet.
If you Google Toor, you'll eventually find he has a one time partner - Ned Barnett. I'm not sure the Revelation Press mentioned here is the correct one. McCain didn't go to "college." He went to the Naval Academy, I believe. And the author of this coming book was also a business journalist. Look deeper and I strongly suspect you'll find an evangelical/political link to Barnett and Toor. I also suspect it's the Jesus-people behind any potential hit on Romney. How Christian is that?
One candidate is about to be challenged – with hard and cold facts, presented cogently by an author, former TV business news editor, decorated military hero and college political science instructor who shares this candidate’s party affiliation – and who has known the candidate personally since their college days.

More passive-aggressive weaseling from the Huckabee campaign?
Well, I'm simply shocked.

Yeah and wasn't just a while back the LA Times was supposedly sitting on a juicy story that was so controversial that they were having high dungeon debates as to if they should publish.
This one being less than thinly sourced has all the marks of a yawner.

FWIW - The fact that the email said they "went to college together" is understandable. If it had said the author attended Annapolis with the target, the surprise would be gone because McCain is the only candidate who attended the Naval Academy.
BTW - The Naval Academy is an accredited college - one of the best in the country.

The Naval Academy is accredited? Jeez, who knew. Next you'll tell me the sky is blue.

$3 bills, more genuine than Romney, they are. Not surprised, I am.

Obviously if there was anything to this it would have come out before Iowa. I bet the 2 scandals were he had a cigarette with a beer once in college.
It can't beat the fact that Edwards pregnant lover is living with one of his major donors in Chapel Hill.

You've come up with the same information I did. I'm not sure this isn't a publicity ploy for Nassise. He seems to be very into self promotion, how else could a writer with just 4 horror novels become the President of the horror writer's group? The Daryl Toor mentioned is a promotion machine. I'm not convinced it is even political. Toor appears to be non-political and Nassise is a big time Dem.

Remember, McCain was one of the Keating Five.... maybe somebody has real hard evidence - formerly unknown - of McCain taking open bribes.

Before 1960 most colleges were not accredited, therefore McCain did not graduate from an accredited college. McCain was the class anchor, with the lowest grades in his class to graduate, and rumor has it he graduated only because his dad was a high ranking admiral.

Willard is turning out to be an embarrassment to Jehovah's Witnesses everywhere.

"I also suspect it's the Jesus-people behind any potential hit on Romney. How Christian is that?"
Romney has been relentlessly attacking Huckabee using deception and outright lies knowing that Huckabee would not respond in kind. The fact is...if Romney's campaign is shown to have been behind all the push-polling, he's done.
Thank God!
I am appalled that conservatives would even consider Romney as a candidate.

"--- Willard is turning out to be an embarrassment to Jehovah's Witnesses everywhere. ---"
Gee, Chris/Bob... you should try a little harder to keep Mitt's cult of choice straight.
He's a Mormon, and neither a Jehova's Witness, nor a Scientologist.

Al Ozaeka,
Before you make such ad-hominum, ask yourself if the "contrast ads" run by Romney were true and in context and contrast that with Huckabee's non-ad ad.
Then find out what the Arkansawyer pubbies think of Huckabee. From all I can tell, he has pretty much destroyed the Ark. conservative movement.
The fact is that Huckabee is only a social conservative. In fact, one of his campaign advisers recently declared the Reagan coalition dead.
Do you really want someone like that?

If it were McCain that is the target just what would be the reason for skipping over him the last time he ran for President?

Yes, my puppets. Dance. Dance to the tune of death. Mwhahahahahaha!
Seriously, though. Republicans need to get their gear back in line or they are totally screwed come November. What ever happened to the mindless lock step obedience to the party that we so enjoyed back in '00 and '04? Where is your 11th Commandment? Why won't the fundies learn to get to the back of the bus like all the other non-rich Republicans? Dark days ahead if the 'Pubs lose both Houses AND the Presidency inside two years.

I am a Fred follower, but I can tell you straight out that all of these little digs and jabs at Romney are making me think that the Dems find him quite a threat. Obviously they would much prefer to have Her Thighness go against Huckabee or Paul, but they seem especially worried about Fred and Romney. Maybe secretly they doubt the inevitable-ness of Hillary. If so, they might not be so dumb after all.

I continue to appreciate how Republicans continue to think that Democrats <3 Hillary Clinton. I mean, she's cool and all, but the number one reason I've seen for any Dem-blogger to throw her support was because it would make Republicans go nuttier than a fruitcake come 2010.
Edwards is the real populist and Obama is the guy with the biggest groundswell of support. But Republicans continue to fixate on Hillary. Sometimes its the little conservative delusions that are the most baffling.

conservative delusions you say? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Meme for the year:
Iowans should not be allowed the first crack at the caucus/primary. Perhaps a universal national primary on the same day might not be such a bad idea after all...
...of course, that would put all the focus on the lefty coastal megalopolises. Perhaps not so good after all.
