Heh Put your political position aside a moment. Talk about putting Hillary in a bind. When it comes to Dem primaries, Hispanics are an important component she has heretofore owned. How it plays in a general election remains to be seen. But I can guess. If Obama peels enough Hispanics away from Hillary, she's done.
Sen. Barack Obama easily won the African American vote in South Carolina, but to woo California Latinos, where he is running 3-to-1 behind rival Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, he is taking a giant risk: spotlighting his support for the red-hot issue of granting driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.
It's a huge issue for Latinos, who want them. It's also a huge issue for the general electorate, which most vehemently does not. Obama's stand could come back to haunt him not only in a general election, but with other voters in California, where driver's licenses for illegal immigrants helped undo former Gov. Gray Davis.

As the word of the Reno endorsement settles in Hill will be fighting an uphill battle.

It's also looking like Hillary lost the California Teachers Assoc endorsement to Obama which was supposed to be hers in a lock. Senior leaders supported her but the rank and file said no way and voted to endorse Obama.

This too, will change as Latinos become the majority population in CA if not the entire southwest in less than 20 years. Anchor Babies Away!
