Andrew Sullivan isn't going to like this. For the record, it doesn't bother me at all either way. But what other currently serving politician is known to have over indulged, perhaps even snorted a little nose candy along with whatever, and eventually turned his life around through finding Jesus? Yep, that would be George Bush. Not to mention, this could have come from a more refined speaking Huckabee, as much as Barack Obama. Will the Left accept this, just because it's one of theirs? Some will, some won't, I'd bet.
You've talked about your experience walking down the aisle at Trinity United Church of Christ, and kneeling beneath the cross, having your sins redeemed, and submitting to God's will. Would you describe that as a conversion? Do you consider yourself born again?
I am a Christian, and I am a devout Christian. I believe in the redemptive death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I believe that that faith gives me a path to be cleansed of sin and have eternal life. But most importantly, I believe in the example that Jesus set by feeding the hungry and healing the sick and always prioritizing the least of these over the powerful. I didn't 'fall out in church' as they say, but there was a very strong awakening in me of the importance of these issues in my life. I didn't want to walk alone on this journey. Accepting Jesus Christ in my life has been a powerful guide for my conduct and my values and my ideals.
Obama can use words with more than 2 syllables. George Bush is no Obama.

Bob, Obama is a Jesus freak, and you're supporting him. I've seen you criticize people on this blog time after time for believing in Jesus, and Heaven, and all that silliness. As a matter of fact, the Republicans were asked at one of the debates whether they believed the Bible. I wonder why Democrats weren't asked the same question, as if I didn't know. What hypocrites you and your fellow Democratics are.

B Hussein Obama became a Christian (Jesus freak to those bound for hell) when he figured out that will get you get further in American politics (even in the criminal state of Il) than you can as an Radical Islamist.
